  1. I don't exactly understand this, SfS. If you believe I'm an eliminator, why would I be voting for my teammate on D1? That would be very counterintuitive to our win con.
  2. I'm tempted to change my vote to Whysper here. They've managed to assign a lot of nefarious intent to what essentially boils down to my read list at the time. Lean villager on TJ, uncertain about Ventyl enough to pursue that slot when he's around to bounce posts off of, sadness because I admittedly was hoping that Whysper would be an easy village read like the LG, and then genuine suspicion toward Illwei for their post-vote hedginess. It feels disingenuous to call any of this pocketing or shading. Would you rather me not share my thoughts with the thread?
  3. I can agree that on Day 1 it's essentially impossible to have solid reads. But what I found unusual was you posting afterwards that you could be hallucinating about the Connie/Mist connection while addressing that it could be a tunnel. As Whysper said last game, I'd expect the more experienced villagers to show more effort in solving. I can say this post and the last couple you've ninja'd me with do make me feel better about you, though. That is fair. I personally have been unable read much from the beginning of this turn due to the minimal number of votes and discussion centered around the TLR. Regarding TJ, his post was the first to challenge the TLR discussion / try to put an end to it and get the lynch moving again. After the fact, he's my only solid read that leans toward villager, although I'm starting to feel very uncomfortable with the Illwei lynch now that so many have joined in the last stretch.
  4. Pretty much agree with everything said by TJ here. Regardless of him starting this game voting for me, Ventyl's initial post feels very different from the last game we just played. I probably would join the vote with you if he were here. Maybe tomorrow Most of today has been fairly random or NAI. I'm not reading Whysper as immediately village, which is sad, because I thought their D1 in the same LG was very pure. Illwei is also giving me odd vibes. They didn't seem nearly as chaotic in the last game we played, and their "tunnel" (if genuine) on Mist/Fadran feels kind of hedgy. My current theory is they were comfortable starting a mislynch on Mist until the new player took over for the slot.
  5. Everyone remember to upvote your GM (and co-GM) when applicable. It's hard work running these games, so it's the least they deserve. I can't give you an essay or three paragraphs on why you should trust me. All I can do is promise you I'll do my best to prove my innocence so long as I'm alive. If I'm not mistaken, it only takes ONE vote to lynch someone in this game, which means doing this makes us vulnerable to elim's with malicious intent, careless villagers, or people like myself who live in timezones that prevent us from being online during turnovers. Like the democratic process in the United States, it's critical that we discuss potential lynches thoroughly and vote accordingly. Maximum participation in lynches simultaneously ensures maximum information gleaned. Confirmation bias is the term you're looking for, I think. In the future, please refrain from double posting, Somebody When no one else has responded, it's good practice to edit your new thoughts into your last post. @Whysper I see you viewing the thread as well. Any thoughts?
  6. Vigor is about perserving life, not ruining it. It's unlikely he will find many allies on Scadrial. Especially the murder hornet variety
  7. Been debating this all week. Signing up as Vigor, a magical fae from another world. Inquisitors sent to investigate a meteor crash site at the outskirts of Luthadel discovered the animated suit of armor in a molten crater. Upon being captured and brought to the Lord Ruler in Kredik Shaw, the friendly giant reluctantly agreed to help end the Imperium's schism in exchange for passage through Scadrial's perpendicularity. He would do nearly anything to return home and reunite with his Seer.
  8. Interesting. It seems I missed a lot while my internet died on me. There's no lynch on nights unless you mean tomorrows?
  9. I personally find Turtle's aversion to voting for Elkanah on Day 1 as highly unusual, so in the interest of gathering information on both their alignments, it seems like the safest bet. I asked a lot of people in PMs last night who they would like to see get Mistborn'd, and Turtle occured frequently enough that I'm not sure their death can be productively avoided for much longer.
  10. I'm going to join the vote on Turtle.
  11. At the moment, I don't have a better "candidate," which is why I'm reaching out before I act rashly. I am interested in pursuing other suspects, hence my voting of Elandera the previous day. The fact that I was wrong there is one of the contributing factors to me wanting to figure out this particular Surgebinder's alignment. If I had nefarious intentions, surely I would act more decisively. Your being suspicious of Araris is valid. My post regarding Elandera was not constructed, however. My initial vote of her had been based on pure instincts, as you can see when posted shortly after her post was made. I intentionally didn't push the lynch further after presenting my case, hoping to see who would inquire and taking note of anyone that jumped on that wagon or others. I hesitate to think of my comments about Mist to be a defense. I genuinely don't believe the post she made about roles indicates her alignment, and that lynching her for it will discourage villagers from making whatever small contributions they can. If you have other reasons to suspect Mist, I would love to hear them because I have no compunctions about lynching them.
  12. Simple. Because the only one that has been using anonymous messages has claimed to me and I want to know if they can be lynched safely without ensuring we lose PMs. Elim!PM Roles are fairly common, but I am neither ruthless or reckless. Alas, only one message again. So it may be a bullet we have to bite soon.
  13. Sorry Elan I really thought I caught you there. Good luck with all the chaos IRL. ed1t: IF YOU ARE A SURGEBINDER, PLEASE SEND AN ANONYMOUS MESSAGE TONIGHT SO WE KNOW HOW MANY THERE ARE. t.y.
  14. Essentially, I find it too contradictory and coincidental that Elandera was unwilling to vote Elkanah D1, but after a night kill that barely incriminates him, immediately votes for Elkanah today. While her first post this round could come from a villager mindset, it feels too convenient.
  15. Not quite. I'm not ruling him out, but I am entertaining a reality where D1's lynch was between two villagers. I can't believe it took 20 hours for someone to finally ask why I voted Elandera. Well, friends, this is why. Elandera, Day 1 Post 2 "I don't like the premise of votes on Mist or Elkanah. I'll try to get a vote on someone else at least a few hours before rollover." This is the important bit. Keep it in mind for now. Elandera, Day 2 Post 1 Okay, so. Let's imagine a world you (the reader of this post) are an eliminator in this game. On Day 1, the village serves you two of their own kind on a silver platter (Mist and Elkanah early game, or Elkanah and Ventyl late game). Do you A: keep your own name from getting dragged in by choosing one of the sides you know will be proven wrong? Or B: say you don't like either lynch and promise a vote later (with the optional choice of actually voting, which Elandera did not do). Now, a night later and at a new day's start, you already know who's going to die ahead of time, and you know the exact reason why the elims chose them. So what do you do? A: reason the kill was likely to keep us from gaining much information and let other players bring up new leads, or B: reason the kill was likely to keep us from gaining much information, then find a way to spin it so a villager we almost lynched on D1 is guilty and vote for them, with hopes of funneling the discussion/votes into already-explored territory and thus distract the villagers further? I'm genuinely curious about people's responses. Please feel free to add your own choices if you think you'd do something differently, in order to determine if you think Elandera has a Village or Eliminator agenda. Me, personally? I've been an elim a lot and posted very similar things to Elandera in this game. So yeah. I'm a lil suspicious.
  16. I will say that villagers tend to be more jumpy than elims, as a consequence of having no one to trust and less concern about how they appear to other villagers. Personally, I think illwei is fine.
  17. The first step of sixteen in my secret role's shadow ritual win con
  18. Intriguing turn of events. Elandera.
  19. I'm of a similar mindset. I'd look closest at instigators, I.E. the player that made the case or pushed it the most.
  20. The tags give me a lot of issues too, especially using them in succession. Been an issue for years, but surprisingly never tried copying/pasting. Mostly I just refresh the page and keep trying like a crazy person I'm just as suspicious of Elk, if not more, given the sudden influx of votes that saved him from the lynch. I've sent a PM his way to see if I can determine his alignment better with some 1-on-1 interaction. I'll have more to say on the matter during the next day turn
  21. My thoughts on Mist? After a quick ISO, I think that they've been fairly helpful by answering questions, and have posted with relative frequency, roleplay included, which I appreciate. As for my thoughts on your vote, I do agree that elims may try to appear helpful with hopes of skating under the radar, but I also know that villagers often behave similarly, and how difficult it is to discern one from the other. Personally, I'd rather not have someone killed because they put in effort that other people don't find useful, as it could set a bad precedent for other villagers, thus preventing them from participating more. As for this bit, I placed my vote on Elkanah with hopes of polarizing the lynch and observing people's reactions. Turtle joining the vote on mist seemed very opportunistic at the time, which caused me to wonder about an Elkanah/Turtle pairing, only to be reinforced by her aversion to join that vote as casually as she did Mist's. I also found Turtle's later removal of her vote suspicious as well, since it appeared to be unprompted within the thread (suggesting another player encouraged her to distance herself in doc). And... ninja'd. You reached the same conclusion, I see ED1T: To clarify, I voted for Elkanah because I agreed with Whysper that he was more focused on making himself look "good" than solving, regardless of any previous game's meta. As of right now, I suspect a Turtle/Elkanah pairing. ED2T: Read through Elkanah's posts now and realize Turtle was confronted in thread by him. The fact Elkanah said he was suspicious of her and still didn't vote makes the theory appear more plausible, imo, like both want to appear distant without any life-ending follow through. ED3T: Emphasis is mine. I also don't like this comment. Elk's assuredness appears forced, like he's intentionally tying his teammate to a villager. ED4T: Current vote count because I have the time. Elkanah (3): Amanuensis, Whysper, Illwei, eltruT (2): Mist, TJ Shade, Devotary of Spontaneity (1): Ventyl, Illwei (1): Araris Valerian,
  22. My last post and Whysper's post before it should explain why. Not sure rewriting it would help much
  23. (3) Mist: Illwei, TJ Shade, Turtle, (2) Elkanah: Whysper, Amanuensis, (1) Turtle: Mist, (1) Danex: Condensation, (1) Devotary of Spontaneity: Ventyl, (1) Illwei: Araris Valerian I believe this is the current vote count. I'm not a big fan of how many are on Mist.
  24. Hey Ventyl! It has been a while, but I'm excited for another chance! In the interest of honesty, I'm hoping to pocket everyone. I believe town's best chance of winning most often comes with communication and trust. This and your last post have encouraged me to join this vote. Elkanah. After combing through the thread, no one so far has tripped as many alarm bells.
  25. Oh wow. I just woke up and there's already a hundred posts. Guess I got work to do now. I'll see y'all on the other side.
