  1. Granted, but now you have to listen to every baby boasting of their power as Dark Lord of All. I wish I could freeze time long enough to complete my assignments.
  2. I feel your pain. I can't get BBC America without paying an extra $25 a month for it. Stupid. Have a sympathy upvote.
  3. Memelantris is temporarily on hold because I had to return the book to the library. Stupid people who enjoy the same books I do. I'll resume it as soon as possible.
  4. I remember once, when I was in my fourth year of camp, I was asked if it was my first year. Sorry, nope. Not really that young.
  5. I personally would prefer to do a cosmere original character, but if you need someone who knows a lot about Doctor Who...
  6. Contributing to the discussion with WoR spoilers:
  7. We could give out cupcakes with complimentary spheres!
  8. I will gladly join the Light Alley. May everyone receive cookies without spikes! (Just a side note, what use are metalminds to non-feruchemists?)
  9. Initially, I got Watership Down and Dragonflight, but I already read those, so I backtracked a bit. I then got The Eye of the World, which I have also read. At this point, I just kinda gave up and started looking at all the books.
  10. So I was reading Alloy of Law, and the part where Marasi is discussing how Vin is the role model for women, but she doesn't fit into that. I then wondered, is it possible that in Scadrial, women are expected to be self-actualized? We don't see that many women in the book, and aside from Marasi, Steris is the only other female character I can think of that's remotely girlish, in the most positive use of the word. I just thought this was interesting and could lead to some very intelligent conversations. Discuss. Is it possible that this role model could be expanded over future trilogies?
  11. Engineering. Favorite word in a foreign language?
  12. I also had to read that book. In 7th grade. I finished it at night. And the teacher tore out the last few pages explaining what happened. Needless to say, that night I though I was going crazy by expecting a suicidal crazy murderer to come out of my closet. That has always tainted my view of the book.
  13. Gotcha. Anyway, the idea sounds pretty cool!
  14. How would only one recruit at a time work? Would the bearer of the death note continue until they are killed, or would it switch around every other cycle? That's the part that confuses me.
  15. Come on, it's only been a month since the last post. So, when would we be starting this up?
  16. Aww! The chickens are adorable!
  17. Osgood would be amazing as a companion. I just really want some of the old characterization back from the early seasons. Unfortunately, I don't think it's one of Moffat's strong points. I kinda want a Doctor who isn't depressed all the time. I understand it's an important part of his character, but it doesn't lead anywhere. In my opinion, Ten was a really good balance of witty and sad. Eleven, once you got over Ten's regeneration, was a nice break from a serious Doctor... until he was depressed.
  18. Vectors was one of the first things my class did, and when it comes to velocity problems, it makes it so much easier to understand.
  19. Basically that. My physics teacher refers to the result as the "shortcut," as in, if you go in from point A to point B, and then from point B to point C, the result is the shortcut from point A to point C, forming a triangle.
  20. To be honest, I don't know what I think of Capaldi as the Doctor yet. He plays it wonderfully, but somehow, this regeneration still seems a bit flat. One thing I thought the earlier seasons of the new series did well was character development. I feel as though, starting with Eleven, we've been missing some of that. On the other hand, the monsters have gotten drastically better. Some of the earlier monsters were downright laughable. Moffat has done very well on that front. I just really want the Doctor to be more fleshed out as a character. Anyway, that's my two cents on the show at the moment. I'm still really excited for Season 9, even though I won't get to see it until 6 months from now. (stupid Dish not giving us BBC America )
  21. Do you understand vectors, and the difference between velocity and speed? Vectors are essential for most physics problems, I find.
  22. Granted, but burning it will cause you to die. I wish for my brother to stop annoying me.
  23. No visible signature (at least from my computer). Nice avatar, though.
  24. Having found accommodations, Heartsleeve could finally get back to her mission. Unfortunately, she was having a bit of trouble finding any Epics interested in anything but the Arena. That was, after all, the main attraction of Salem. Heartsleeve herself disliked the Arena, and not simply because she didn't have the right powers for it. It was more of a subtle jealousy. The Arena inflated emotions on a scale she would never be able to match. Something irritated her. Surely there must be some epic who could use her talents. As much as she loved lording over people, it was easier to escape backfire when one wasn't on the front lines. She felt as if she was missing something huge. Suddenly, a poster flew off of a wall and landed at her feet. Heartsleeve looked at the poster... and smiled.
