  1. On the other hand, that logic kind of renders the entire argument pointless. What is the point of saying that just because the world is different, the animal does not conform to any of the things we have observed on Earth? Of course, I might be misunderstanding you. Is there any other point you wish to make?
  2. Well, all the main characters so far. Except Szeth, (he is light-eyed, but Shin people work differently) but we haven't really seen much of him. Oh, and Lift, if I recall correctly.
  3. ... Okay...?
  4. I listen to instrumental music, mostly, so way, WAY too many.
  5. Additionally, I seem to remember Kal noticing adhesionspren (or something in that line) sticking rocks to the chasm wall when he used a Lashing.
  6. Hmm... good one. I think that solves that issue, then.
  7. OH! That is gold.
  8. Hmm... so you are suggesting that they can use Stormlight in some way?
  9. Hmm... maybe. However, the winds travel east-to-west, and Shallan cataloged Skyeels flying in Kharbranth, which is set against a stone face. Of course, their maximum altitude is to be accounted for, but as I have stated elsewhere, they cannot go TOO high lest their mucus freeze. (Assuming, of course, that they HAVE a mucus layer.)
  10. Hmm... perhaps. Then that raises the question of their cold-resistance. As eels are usually mucus covered, that mucus could freeze within a higher part of the atmosphere. Also, was their flight duration ever accounted? As in, do they have to take a break once in a while, or do they spend their lives in flight?
  11. Do they? I don't really remember that, but that WOULD give them a boost against gravity. Still, gravitationspren and air sacs counted, I hardly think that is enough to let an eel fly.
  12. A good speculation. I look forward to seeing if this is true. Hmm... but then the question arises as to why Rosharans think they are luckspren in the first place, no? I mean, it would take a very specific situation for gravitationspren to be taken as luckspren.
  13. Haha! But yes, that is one of the most irritating things out there. Nice analogy, by the way.
  14. The creatures that live on Roshar are curious things. Many of them resemble those in our own world, with perhaps some additions, while others are wholly different. However, I haven't really seen a thread to discuss the general wildlife, and how it interacts with the world around it. So, I started one. Basically, the discussion I want to propagate is as such: What are the different confirmed and speculated types of animals on Roshar? From an anatomical perspective, how do they work? From an evolutionary one, how did they become as they are? What can they DO? One that I'm really interested in is the Skyeel: while it resembles eels on our quite closely, it seems to arbitrarily be able to fly. So, WHY does it fly? What makes it fly? How does it deal with highstorms, what with it's lack of an apparent crustacean shell? Oh, and of course, if there is already an active thread for this, do point me toward it. Edit: To clarify, speculated species CAN be posted.
  15. You know what I've always wondered about Skyeels? What do they do during Highstorms? I mean, they don't have a crustacean shell and resemble normal eels, and as far as I know are gentle-weather fliers. So... what? Do they nest or something? ... You know, I think I'll start a thread on this.
  16. Though, since we don't know what the Nightwatcher actually IS (some theories consider whether or not it's Cultivation, IIRC) that STILL may not make sense. Well, unless Administration dealt with it itself.
  17. I officially don't know anything about this thread anymore.
  18. Except, as you said, these are only the first two books. My opinion is that, while Kaladin will have a lot of PLOT involvement, it'll most likely take place in another character's perspective, or off-screen. I simply do not see too much more to his personal arc, and a LOT for other characters. As such, it would be kinda silly to give him EVEN more screen-time. (I mean, seriously. This guy already took over Shallan's book...)
  19. Here you are. ... Your curse is to not eat pizza for ten years. I wish I could know exactly which people I can trust.
  20. Hmm... that could work. Personally, the one thing I WOULDN'T be able to handle is Szeth being imprisoned forcefully: That would just bring us back to square one.
  21. Hahaha! So true. Upvote for you. Well, another wish, then... I wish I could remove any ONE person I wanted to from existence.
  22. While I hesitate to go back to this topic, I would like to point out that most people haven't been saying that he shouldn't be punished, but rather that he should be given a chance to redeem himself. And, here's a question for you: What is killing "honorably"? Many of the major and much-loved Stormlight (and, in fact, general fantasy) characters have killed, and not always in self-defense. What does it take to differentiate murder from killing? In many cases, people would say it is the context, which leads to the next question: Could it not be that the context of Szeth's killings counts for something in his favor?
  23. Granted. The entirety of your family dies, apart from you, and you get the insurance money. I wish for Nemo to be- wait, he's probably already dead. I wish VS forums had actual, thoughtful arguments instead of "THIS MA FAV CHARACTER! HE/SHE WIN!"
  24. Granted. You are hereby cursed to only be able to give good curses when deem you worthy. I wish I gaihwe8qwfoiausochogughaisd.
  25. *cries* Thank you! I needed that: I've disliked even thinking of a second such book. Honor knows he already has one, and another that may as well be his...
