  1. [REDACTED], Y U NO Ookla?
  2. I'm doing this Ookla thing this year.

  3. I ended up going with the Dell Venue 10 pro. I realized I was pretty well bought into the Microsoft ecosystem, so a Win 10 tablet was the right choice.
  4. I am a programmer, so if you need help with code feel free to PM me.
  5. Tablet suggestions? I am thinking about the NVIDIA Shield Tablet, but I have heard good things about the Nexus 9 as well. Do any of you have tablets you really like? And no, I don't want an iPad. EDIT: I did settle on one, so I don't need suggestions anymore. Thanks everyone! Although, if you have some amazing advice for the others that are sure to follow, feel free to leave it here!
  6. No! Don't take the cookie! It's spiked! (in the hemalurgic sense ) Anyway, Welcome!
  7. Or when you are pushing in carts at the grocery store. My job would be a lot easier if I was a lurcher.
  8. Here is the Coppermind article on spheres: http://coppermind.net/wiki/Spheres It lists the denominations that we currently know about. There are 9 gems in 3 sizes each, but we've only seen 6 gem types so far. (as of WoR) I hope this helps, and I'm looking forward to seeing these, they will be really cool!
  9. I'm planning on going to the Chicago signing.
  10. I had a great time in my first game! Thanks to Gamma for running it, and to everyone else for not lynching me. I am impressed with Phatttemer's analysis, and Wyrmhero's deft manipulations. Remind me not to play against you, Wyrm.
  11. Hey guys, I'll be out of town tonight and tomorrow. I am unsure who to vote for this round. It seems Lopen has been swinging back and forth between insightful analysis and professions of confusion. Perhaps he is getting help from the other eliminators? I'm not sure if I'll be on before the lynch. Goodnight all.
  12. Lopen, I guess that makes sense. I am kind of in the same boat as you in that I have little to add right now. It does seem from my last look that Wyrm has been controlling the conversation since Phattemer got lynched. I will put my vote on him this cycle. it is also 3am my time, so I should sleep.
  13. It seems Jain is quite inactive. I don't think he's an eliminator, since he hasn't been participating at all. I'd like to hear from Lopen why he hasn't helped much since Phattemer pointed at Wyrm. Maybe he's feeling secure knowing we'd follow Phattemer's suggestions? (Wyrm does seem to be quite busy on here, but I'm not ready to commit to voting for him yet.)
  14. I also poked Adamir and nearly got him lynched. It's hard when I am never awake for the turnover, so I can't change my vote if more helpful information comes up. I've been skirting since I am uncertain what to look for, to discover the rebels. Some of the posts you all have made have been helpful, but I'm still confused. Any advice on how to be a better player is greatly appreciated. I guess voting does help us find the rebels, though, so I'll vote for Jain, because I don't think he ever voted. Edit -- vote retracted
  15. Oh wow, this is getting confusing and intense. Adamir, I wanted to poke you for a response, but didn't intend to start a lynch train. (if 2 votes counts as a train) Sir Jerric, your plan sounds good to me. As a n00b, I would appreciate the opportunity to learn how some of the better players play this game. I'm not sure how helpful I can be, as I am inactive for the last bit of the cycle, but I'll try to participate. I am off to get a haircut, but I'll try to do some analysis when I get back.
  16. Funweaver sat idly in his chair, fiddling with a length of pink streamer as his priests carried out the last painting. "Ugh, this is boring. All these paintings of death and civil war are distinctly unfestive. Daryk, can you make them paint more fun scenes?" "My lord, that's not how it works." "Oh..." "About last night... Some of the other gods are wondering why you voted for Artweave?" "Oh, dreadful business, that." "My lord, why did you vote for him?" "Well, I voted for Heavenpest because I hadn't seen him around. When he did make an appearance, I couldn't keep my vote on him." "But why did you move it to Artweave?" "Well, some of the other gods had been saying some things about him that made him seem suspicious. I agreed with them, but didn't have anything new to add to the discussion." "But last night you didn't tell me that." "Last night I was tired and didn't think to give any explanation. I probably should have, but then, what experience do I have with rebellions in the court of the gods?" I didn't really have anything helpful to add to the discussion last night. I should have said something like that, but I didn't think to include it in my post. I am wondering why we haven't seen Shar since cycle 1. He was obviously watching, as he showed up to defend himself, but why hasn't he been helping to locate the rebels?
  17. Jerric, I just wanted to poke Phattemer to see if he'd respond. Since this game is going to be about dialog, I figured it is good to have a lot of players participating. That's a useful observation, Kipper. You've obviously played this before. Ugh, I need to sleep, and I won't be up again before the changeover. I think I'll just join the bandwagon against A Smart Guy. Talk to you all in the morning. Funweaver the Festive walked into his chamber and promptly slumped in a glittery heap on his pink and yellow bed. "Woah, that party was crazy!" Daryk walked in carrying a pair of pink and yellow pajamas. "My lord, it was just you and that awakened lamp." "I know, but anywhere I go is a party. I'm the god of parties, remember?" Darryk gave his god a flat look. "My lord, the others wish to know if you have any ideas on who the rebels might be." "How should I know? I was just partying with a lamp." "You at least need to vote." "Oh, ok. Who's got the most votes?" "My lord, that's not..." "Just put my vote on him for now." "But my lord..." "Go away. I need to sleep." "As you wish, my lord. Goodnight."
  18. Funweaver sat in his overly decorated palace wearing a sparkly party hat that glowed with his divine aura. "It must be frustrating being on a different schedule from the other gods," Daryk, his high priest mused. "But Daryk, it's the only way I can attend so many parties! But I do understand what you mean. Everything exciting around here lately has happened when I'm asleep. I close my eyes, and when I wake up the others have discovered one of the rebels! And poor Metacognition. Old thoughtful was a good guy, even if he was no fun at parties." "Have you given any thought to who else might be a rebel, my lord?" "I haven't seen Heavenpest at any parties lately. Maybe he has been meeting secretly with the other evil rebels somewhere deep under his dreary palace, plotting our violent and horrible deaths!" "My lord, you are hyperventilating! You should breathe into this bag until you calm down!" All this discussion is really interesting. I really hope that we can keep this discussion going! However, like Funweaver, I am usually asleep when the rollover is scheduled.
  19. I am in a similar position to RavenRadiant, as I live in the US and we sleep at normal times here. I might be on before the lynch, but I'm not certain. I'm gonna retract my vote from Shar, as I don't really know what I'm doing yet.
  20. Aaah! I was afraid that you might start this right before church. I'll be busy most of the day. "Waiiiiit!!!" Funweaver the festive dashed in, breathless and covered in tinsel. "I heard there was going to be some kind of gathering, so I brought decorations!" 3 priests in garish pink and yellow robes trudged in carrying boxes of party decorations. "I wonder why Shar is here so early. Do you know something we don't?"
  21. I would rather it not be an Intrepid, just because I don't want to rehash VOY. My vote would be either Akira or Nebula, although Nebulas (Nebulae?) have larger crews. An Olympic would be cool, too. Time era? I would prefer shortly post-VOY, because I am most familiar with the tech from that period.
  22. I like the name Venture! I also didn't realize that the Akira carried Peregrines, but that is extra awesome! If anyone is interested in seeing some of these classes of ship to scale, check out the MineTrek.net minecraft server. They build ships to scale with an extraordinary amount of interior detail. The USS Geronimo is an Akira class. If you don't want to spend a ton of time searching for it, go to http://dynmap.minetrek.net and look for it there. It's in the upper right corner. Characters: Lt. Cmdr. Garen Chief Engineer Lt. Durk Senior engineer
  23. #1 and #3 sound really cool. #3 almost sounds like the premise of VOY:Demon, where they have to visit an inhospitable environment to retrieve important fuel. Molten metal sounds cool, though. I'm not sure on the Blackbeard Apocalypse, but then, this is about having fun, right?
