  1. Personal Communication: From: Rear Admiral Cyrus Jaxom, Starfleet Command To: Captain Ashley Smith, USS <insert name here> Re: Chief Engineer Captain Smith, Congratulations on your new ship! I have seen the specs, and the USS <insert name here> is a fine vessel. It will serve you well. In response to your question about my former chief engineer, Lt. Cmdr. Garen, I have every reason to believe he will be a fine addition to your crew. In my days as captain of the USS Nimoy, Garen proved himself an intelligent and capable engineer. His quick thinking and impressive knowledge of physics got us out of several scrapes; but then, what else would you expect from a Vulcan? I am hesitant to say anything bad about him, lest you get the wrong impression, but I should inform you that Garen is a little too fond of efficiency. (If a Vulcan could be said to be fond of anything) He runs a tight engineering department, but has little tolerance for the mistakes of inexperienced personnel. In his time on the Nimoy, he attended only a single social event, claiming to find gathering and socializing “Chaotic and unstructured, therefore illogical.” Nevertheless, I highly recommend Garen as a fine engineer and crewmember. I am certain you will find him as great an asset as I did. Once again, congratulations on the new ship, and good luck on your upcoming voyage! Rear Admiral Cyrus Jaxom Starfleet Command
  2. I think Cobalt King might be interesting to deal with. Maybe he could be a sort of villain? He just seems like someone they would meet in VOY.
  3. I am thoroughly impressed with this topic! I have seen religious debates on a Christian forum turn somewhat sour, so 12 pages of civil discussion between people of very different beliefs is awesome! I just joined 17S, and this thread really solidified in my mind how amazing you all are. Reading through this thread has given me a new understanding and appreciation for the wide variety of beliefs (or lack thereof) that are in the world. To be more on-topic, I am a Christian in a Reformed Presbyterian church. (OPC, actually, if that means anything to you)
  4. I agree with Kobold. I believe it would be more fun if we could create the galaxy as we explore it. The world Adamir created is pretty cool, though. I was on all morning, and nobody posted. I left for a few hours, and suddenly there's all this activity!
  5. I'm in. I am currently working on a Vulcan chief engineer. I'll post his profile when I figure it out.
  6. Ooh! I am really interested in joining, but I don't know if I'll have time. What sort of time commitment does an RP on here require? A few posts a week? A few post a day? BTW, I really like the story ideas so far.
  7. I am a Trekkie, and I would also be interested in an ST RP onsite.
  8. Thanks for the warning. I'll stay away, then. Are the guilds an RP thing?
  9. There are many other puzzles in various shapes and turning styles that qualify as twisty puzzles. Some examples: The Megaminx: The Skewb: Pyraminx: As for novellas, I have read The Emperor's Soul, and I think one more, but I'm not certain. I hear cookies are bad, but I don't know how cookies could possibly be bad. Thanks for the warm welcome! ~EDIT: Images wouldn't show.
  10. Hey everyone! I am Vauhsoj, a computer programmer/twisty puzzle nerd/fantasy fiction addict. I have read most of Brandon's books once, and am working on a reread of Mistborn and WoR. I'm also obsessed with twisty puzzles like the Rubik's cube. I've been hovering around on here for quite some time, and just now decided to come down and join the fun. I also heard a few mentions of cookies... Looking forward to getting to know you guys, ~V
