I think the other side story might be Shallan saying no to Adolin for Kaladin. So, it might be all sorts of trouble for Adolin for him to break into something -- KR OR SOMETHING ELSE.

Low gravity.... i am sure someone can explain why

Spell checkers don't catch everything, and also, you shouldn't trust them to, which is why they need to go over it manually, anyways. Also, the check is also (A third "also" in a sentence and a half is inelegant?) to make sure there aren't any last-minute tweaks to fix as well as any sections to cut if need be (sentence length..?). The first error should've been a comma, not a sentence break. "Also" should not start a sentence. The second error is a common fault of mine, I usually screw up words which sound the same because of how I plan it out mentally. Finally, there's nothing ironic about the fact that I made grammar errors when talking about the fact that grammar checkers aren't perfect. What would be ironic is if I had said grammar checkers are perfect, had run my response through a grammar checker, and there had still been errors. In the spirit of the discussion, I've done a check with Grammarly. It picked up only "there" and one comma (all highlighted in red). Other than that, I've picked up other errors, which I've highlighted in green to show that there are other errors or refinements that a human mind can pick, e.g. sentence length, style, etc. Incidentally, I've always believed that an "also" can be used to start a sentence. So, @Spoolofwhool wasn't wrong in initially using it, but perhaps overcritical in declaring it to be in error.

I agree... my comment was a bit tongue in cheek... I was just noting that Grammarly has been a pretty good tool since I adopted it.

Brandon should use Grammarly... great punctuation tool, even for the free version. Pants off Microsoft spell/grammar checker!!! Been using the free version for a while, and it's great. Plus, if it helps oathbringer out faster, nothing better!

I've seen from the resolved death rattles that they are more literal than metaphorical. So, the baby radiant theory, doesn't have such a high probability IMO.

This thread is as good as fan fiction gets!

Still going through random re reads On fighting with the town guards, the guard tower captain finds that once Lift's gone, the only evidence he has got left is black sand that withers away. Just the word black sand is interesting, as I keep thinking of the black spheres. Or is it iust Wyndle's crystals coming to dust Also, there are names of some new towns in there... including a place that has been at war for " a billion years" in Lift's words. I wonder if it is a different name for the shattered plains or a different place entirely?

What's up with Nale's Skybreakers? [Edgedancer spoilers]
Wax replied to rjl's topic in Stormlight Archive
Interestingly, Braize is a cold planet, vs Ashen which is a hot planet with floating cities.... maybe Ashen is shadesmarr? just wondering how its like a reverse of normal concepts, ie cold damnation vs a burning hell... -
What's up with Nale's Skybreakers? [Edgedancer spoilers]
Wax replied to rjl's topic in Stormlight Archive
I don't think they go to damnation.... have a theory based on arcanum unbounded -
Interestingly, it says, "an enemy as great in number". l think it sounds like overwhelming numbers. So, I am guessing, not only parshmen but other people also get affected?

I was right about SA3 being late in the thread. With SA4, the big issue is the outline, if that finishes around late 2018 (assuming 6 months for outline which BS starts in 2018 itself), it gives Brandon just 2019 to finish off SA4 and with one year for pre publish, 2020 seems unlikely.

What's up with Nale's Skybreakers? [Edgedancer spoilers]
Wax replied to rjl's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think the risk is someone just discovering the oaths and saying them tonbind spren, even though they don't mean it. So, imagine a squire who's a bad apple, finds the oaths and says them like an incantation, and the spren isn't the smartest one or too curious - one can end up as a rogue KR. Even Dalinar said the first oath as an incantation, before following up with his own self conjured one. Another way is that just a surgebinder can end up creating a desolation by binding with a voidspren? -
Wyndle said he was chosen by the ring to be sent here. So, there is this mythical "ring" which decides the bonding....?

Going through partial re reads + in one scene when Lift felt a lot of hate suddenly for Nale. I am guessing that thing which brings the hate level up was travelling through the city. + BS spent a lot of text in the climax on the emotionless/bringing Nale out of a stupor scene (from emotionless to crying). It makes me think there is a separate sub plot involving heralds' corruption. + BS also noted in the postscript that he converted Lift's joke about thinking she is not growing for three years as a foreshadowing of the bit she explains about visiting the nightwatcher. Perhaps we can review on the so called jokes snd figure out the foreshadowing bits?

I think they were called "the sleepless".

Plus the shardblade access for Helaran... suggests it's no ordinary imitation skybreaker group he joined
-
Either that or he is doing something Kelsier like in hoping something will work, but it doesn't and through a variety of other scenarios, it ends up helping in a round about way.
-
The other thing I picked up was Ishar's becoming a bit of a villain. He was the one who broke the oathpact and induced others to do so. Then, Nale says he asked Ishar if the voidbringers have returned and Got a response in negative in this book. So, I am guessing Ishar's getting a big role in OB, explaining his position.
-
Hmm.. well, I hope ice cream flavors that I haven't tried so far, still taste the same when I discover them.
-
I wonder if similar to Nale, other heralds are also doing other things to stymie different surgebinders. Eg, Jerizen might be sawing off bonds, where the investiture is weak (theory), etc.

Has Brandon Chaged the Canon? [Edgedancer Spoilers]
Wax replied to BlackYeti's topic in Stormlight Archive
Probably a mistborn:secret history thing -
Re reads or the first read. Basically, the not so obvious stuff.
-
Ok.. what are all the new things you picked up. I've just started the re read. • Braize is another planet in the same system as Roshar. So perhaps, the torture comes when people get transported to Braize somehow... • wyndle mentioned that he got chosen by the ring... now I don't know ehat this ring business is??
