  1. I just echo everyone else's thoughts. SA is more of a multi season tv series book and mistborn is the book to movie prototype. Honestly, with SA, the most visual scenes were Shallan's, but with Mistborn, it was "ash is falling" visuals every second
  2. F... Some seer told me I'll only live till 2048! So... So... I'll never finds out what happens at the end!
  3. This is the fastest it's going... And at this rate, predicting first draft by late nov / early December for SA3.
  4. We need a proper tree of theories. Just reading this makes me think how about we have a theory by character setup so that we can post to it
  5. the stormlight novella is 100% now for first draft. Assuming that it'll come through around October now. Oathbringer though has barely moved to 54%.
  6. Sa3 now at 52% SA2.5 novella at 60%
  7. I like the sound of new books. Although someone needs to move that %age ticker ahead on stormlight 3.... Barely moved from 44% to 45%.
  8. Intriguing- worth asking Brandon?
  9. So, basically Yakab (spelling?) survives as per Shallan's drawing?
  10. Lighteyes men cannot read or write except stormwardens. However, in WoR, there is a scene where Shallan and Adolin are out in a restaurant, and Adolin picks a wine off the menu. How does that work?
  11. Making bad stew? Just re-reading WoR, I made the connection that Hauber's leg would start working again, with the squire healing process.
  12. I just think that Kelsier's set for a third return. The second being his return in the middle to save southern Scadrial. But, he wouldn't leave the bands of mourning in the way that he left if he didn't want to return. So, I am assuming that he left chasing something or investigating something else. He also wouldn't leave the coppermind coin if he didn't want another return. So, there will be a third coming of Kelsier IMO.
  13. Ok. Thanks everyone.. Particularly to ChocolateRob and NinjaYodeler. Next set of questions:- Alonoe - who is she? A worldhopper? Also, they were worried about a threnodite / threnody? What was that all about? The kandra at the end who killed Suit - was it part of a rogue set of kandra alluded to in Shadows of self?
  14. I think close to finish the outline is more like it.
  15. He also confirmed that Book 4's main character is Eshonai for SA. Also, Hoid will be a main character in the final Mistborn trilogy as well as Dragonsteel prequels (note the plural).
  16. Can I just say, if there are Elantris spoilers, can they please be tagged/hidden? I might bee one of the few people who have read all of mistborn but not Elantris.
  17. I think that was Heinrich (check spelling).
  18. I do have some questions at the end of BoM, and would really like some clarification - as I can't figure these out:- Heinrich (?) - someone dropped a spare cube for him to put him off looking into the rooms. Who did it and why? I am confused, which person went to the southern side of the planet to teach the masked? Was it the original Lord Ruler or Spook / someone else?? The medallion tech - it wasn't there in the final empire trilogy (unless my memory is going) - It's been a while since I read the original three books. So, how come it came about to be discovered? And by who? Who created the bands of mourning, in the first place? The original lord ruler also found them, which points to someone originally creating them even earlier?? What was the point of leaving the final memory in the coppermind in the end? I would be happy to get some answers on these ones... I do have some more questions, which I'll add here later on.
  19. If Orson Scott Card wrote this... It would be called "The Stormlight Bible" or "The Book of Stormlight" instead. Dalinar would be army commander who would slaughter the parshendi and eventually discover that Parshendi were actually honoring Gavilar by killing him. Kaladin would be a 14 year old as well and he'd find that women are throwing himself at him claiming "I want your babies" because he has power. Eshonai would find that committing adultery with invested radiants would strengthen her own powers so she'd go on to try and have sex with as many radiants as possible. Adolin would be a brutal bully and Renarin a brilliant child prodigy. Szeth would go around quizzing people on obscure bible quotes just before he put the shardblade through them. Not much would happen for the first two books other than a lot of different characters wondering about the impact of knight radiants returning. Each one would have a pointless backstory. In the third book, Dalinar would decide that everyone should flee to shinovar. A lot of people would die just traversing through to shinovar and fighting over biblical matters over the next couple of books. When they get to shinovar, they'd find that everyone there is dead coz of unknown reasons, possibly Nalan and Szeth killing everybody, so they'd just sit around and fight/ponder over some biblical quotes for longer. And Shallan would be minor character mainly there for trying seize power, have babies/sex and getting biblical quotes spouted on her by random characters.
  20. I am surprised there isn't one. But, hey, the whole forum is dedicated to Brandon's work. But sometimes, you are just in awe and cannot say anything but it is worth acknowledging Brandon's work. For me, I am still stuck in re reads of the stormlight archive. But then Brandon pumps out two triology finales within a month of each other and another previously undisclosed novella to complement, you just can't stop and wonder in awe. A truly amazing author who I am grateful and thankful to have read in my lifetime.
  21. Well - Eshonai felt the thrill in the battle with Adolin. Even earlier, even Dalinar used to feel the thrill wielding the shardblade right until the end of WoK.
  22. Thanks, I meant a squire in the first place, just didn't remember the right word.
  23. @maxal - I can see your logic regarding Adolin being an edgedancer. I would love to be able to compare the two personalities, but we don't have any major data of note on dustbringers. So, other than saying, "Adolin isn't Lift or not like her", there are limits to comparative evidence. I will say that other than Lopen, all new radiants have been from a different order. Adolin is a major character, and just from an author's perspective, it might be more intriguing to land him in a completely different radiant profile. Articulate 1. having or showing the ability to speak fluently and coherently. "she was not very articulate" synonyms: eloquent, fluent, communicative, effective, persuasive, coherent, lucid, vivid, expressive, silver-tongued, vocal; More I checked the dictionary, and practically most people would be considered articulate. However, I can say that dustbringers suggest a violent/explosive temper (in my mind), and Adolin has loads of it, given WoR ending.
  24. The thing is the edge dancer vows don't sit in my mind with the picture of Adolin. " I will remember those who have been forgotten" - is the second vow uttered. One of the words of radiance (in book) reference also notes edge dancers being eloquent or good with words. Just not Adolin. Dustbringers oaths might be more along he lines of "I will destroy..." Or "I will fight..." More fitting with Adolin the duelling champion. The edge dancer sword is a red herring in my mind. Or a plot device.
  25. Reading all the above, I am getting increasingly convinced that Adolin will be a radiant. I scanned back to when Dalinar last saw the thrill go away. It was at the end of WoK just moments before sadeas betrayed him at the tower plateau, leading to an eventual fight with Eshonai. Now, in WoR, Adolin doesn't have the thrill as he is fighting Eshonai in the end. It's suspiciously similar.
