  1. Er, he did though identify him as Nale?
  2. First world problems....
  3. Speculation Considering the fact that Shardblades and Shardplate are sometimes simply called 'Shards', it is possible that the Dawnshards refer to the Honorblades carried by the Heralds. Shallan, however, believes that the two objects are entirely separate.[1] http://stormlightarchive.wikia.com/wiki/Dawnshards
  4. Rothfuss Martin I avoided Lynch - didn't like Rothfuss I read after both books were out, thinking third isn't far. But damnation he's been slow. Going the way of Harper Lee!
  5. What are upvotes/downvotes! Just random clicks. Why care!
  6. See, I am not convinced by that. In Dalinar's visions, he says it'll be tough for Dalinars without the Dawnshards. Plus, shardblade/Honorblade are blades. Dawnshard might refer to the Heralds or the highspren..?
  7. Nal's spren got mentioned a fair bit. Wyndle even mentioned that Nal's spren couldn't see him.
  8. 1/4 of the book is about 136,500 words. Edgedancer was 40,000 words. I think I'll avoid if it is that much!
  9. I was writing in jest (17th Shard doesn't like iphone emojis so it left the out). Who knows if Brandon was writing in jest or if that lady was a truthwatcher writing on walls. But she was writing using excrement.
  10. What about the lady who writes on the walls but is locked in a room by the ardents in the shattered plains? Any importance to her?
  11. I don't like whinging. But I am having trouble with money. 2 years ago, I lost my high paying job. Ever since, I just couldn't land another job. Now, I've invested into getting into a new business, but not getting customers. so yeah, 6 months more like this and I'll be in a big financial heap.
  12. Well, it's dangerous. This is from a Jasnah snippet between book 2 & 3 (see readings and excerpts for the full episode)
  13. Well, WoB is that all Heralds are corrupted with each having a unique type of corruption. Pai seemed to be uncorrupted type.
  14. Can you provide the quote? Also, would there be cultivation blades?
  15. I read WoR quite quickly. Infact, I skipped the interludes and then went back and read them later. WoK was more skimmed second half than read (listened audio with half an ear. Still can't bring myself to read/listen that section again where Szeth changes his handlers to Mr. T. That whole passage...zzz Looking to change my approach with OB. Take it slowly and savour it. Maybe do a progressive read thread/blog this time around.
  16. It's non-fiction, but it is, "Are you joking, Mr Feynmann?" - by a nobel prize winning scientist The adventures of the thunderbolt kid - another non fiction about life in the 50s for kids is quite funny as well Falling free by lois mcmaster bujold is also funny for a sci fi
  17. I am beginning to wonder if the third is a 50-50 of Honor and Cultivation. 1 for Honor 1 for Cultivation 1 for Honor-Cultivation 50-50
  18. Ok, this is a typo in edgedancer, so, I'll put it all in spoiler. So, the narrative already identifies the person before he is identified in his current incarnation by Lift. This may be valid in scenes where Shallan is visiting the Shattered plains, and visits the royal court for the first time. The identities are known and haven't changed. Here, it comes as almost a surprise appearance with significant change since we last saw the character.
  19. Audiobook pre-ordered on audible.com !
  20. I'll take the US cover thanks. I like the detail, and the physical drawing of Jasnah looks a bit unrealistic in the UK cover.
  21. No probs. Also, interesting that Lift mentioned she didn't like dreams because they showed a life she couldn't have or a life that terrified her. Very easter eggy...
  22. This was a warning Wyndle gave Lift when she was following Nale around the market... (i think)
  23. Hi, there was 1 revelation in Edgedancer, which I don't think anyone has discussed as a focus point. Skybreakers can fly! The skybreakers in training flew to go to the orphanage. There were other funny things with Nal. constant references to him just gliding in rather than walking. The other interesting thing there was that Wyndle mentioned that Nal's spren could see Lift when she was sure that Nal couldn't see her? Funnily, that spren doesn't see her when she's spying on them at their headquarters. Szeth senses her even when she was hidden. But the other 2 in training ones, didn't. Something interesting going on with skybreakers' spren!
  24. I didn't know at all. I read warbreaker only last year... so never had the sense. I actually read that book because I wanted to figure out who that Zahel fellow originally was!
