Sounds like a good idea, but picture it this way... Person making the index: I just thought up a baseless new theory! Time to put it at the top of the index, above theories with actual merit! Also, I'm lazy and can't be bothered updating it to remove out of date theories once new books come out. What I'm saying is, the risk is a bit high. If we could have multiple people working on one post, it could work, but as only admins and moderators can edit other peoples' posts that probably won't happen. We can't trust this job to just one person, though. Hint, hint, site managers: Put that option in

The bad puns... oh god, my eyes... my eyes! Upvoted anyway.

I assumed that Duralumin would condense the overall effect - for example, if you were to heal a few wounds over, say, half an hour with pewter, burning Duralumin would condense that to a single second. Perhaps the effects of Duralumin and Nicrosil don't stack, or Nicrosil just condenses it further (meaning that for things like steel, the effect would be increased by condensation, but with pewter healing, for example, there would be no increase in the effect) On another note, I'm not sure if Scadrial has a moon. I'll look it up

Adolin's murder of Sadeas could fit the bill.

Facepalm-worthy Moments during Readings
Adamir replied to Patrick Star's topic in Stormlight Archive
I kept pronouncing Demoux and Renoux as Dem-Ocks and Ren-Ocks. I have a feeling I'm making Sanderson cry whenever I alter the pronounciation -
Meaning that Denth had lied - Awakening is not 'all or nothing'. A drab might still have a small fragment of a Breath to keep itself sentient. Or, it might just be the innate Endowment keeping them sentient, in the same way that Scadrialites have innate Preservation and Ruin to give them sentience.

Note: This may have been posted before. I did a search, but couldn't find anything. Duralumin = enhances the next metal burned by yourself Nicrosil = enhances the next metal burned by someone else If Duralumin were to be burnt right before fueling someone else's burn with Nicrosil (or if you were to burn Duralumin, and someone were to fuel you with Nicrosil afterwards), what would be the result? Duralumin drains your entire reserve to enhance the next effect, while Nicrosil drains someone else's entire reserve to enhance their next effect. My current theory is that Nicrosil fueled by Duralumin would act in the same way as compounding - draining far more Investiture from Preservation than would be possible with the metals separately. This could allow someone with a limited amount of metals to increase their effects, though it would be impractical; imagine a Duralumin-Nicrosil fueled Coinshot going into orbit and freezing to death.

Facepalm-worthy Moments during Readings

I had no idea Scadrial had French pronunciations until after I finished the trilogy. -
I received my copy of Words of Radiance yesterday, and have reached Chapter 8 so far; meaning that my assumptions may be incorrect, as to not having finished the book. But, looking at the Ars Arcanum section for Lightweaving, I noticed a reference to Yolen, with the words 'This is the most similar ability to the original Yolish variant'. This makes me wonder; is all illusion based Investiture focused around the same magic system? Perhaps its just different variations on Yolish lightweaving, in the same way that different Mistings/Ferrings all use the same magic system, just different portions of it. This would mean that there would be a link between Surgebinding and AonDor, as both have illusion magic capabilities (AonDor is referred to in the same extract; or it could be referring to Forgery). In that case, though, why is a Nahel bond required for Surgebinding, but no equivalent required for AonDor/Forgery? If we assume that there is an Investiture requirement to use these magic systems, then the Shaod could qualify - for now, I'm going to assume the Ars Arcanum was referring to AonDor, not Forgery. If the magic systems are linked, that would mean one of four things There were Spren, or a similar entity type, on Yolen, who could create a Nahel-type bond A small portion/the entirety of Yolen is born with innate Investiture, like Breath on Nalthis There is some sort of Shardic event, similar to the Shaod, that imbues someone with Investiture on Yolen Investiture is passed through bloodlines on Yolen, like Allomancy and Feruchemy What we need to know, however, is the exact methods by which this magic works. Can only the people the Lightweaver intends to see observe the illusion? Or can anyone see it? If the former, Lightweaving works by altering the mind, in the same way as Soothing and Rioting; this could potentially bring Allomancy into the theory. But, as Shallan unconsciously used Lightweaving and nearby sailors saw it when even she was unaware, Lightweaving clearly alters light instead of thought patterns. This means that Allomancy is not a branch of Yolish Lightweaving. For AonDor, it seems to be the same thing - Raoden does not focus on who he wants to see the illusion. Meaning that, overall, the two magic systems function similarly. This could support the idea that both are just variations on Yolish Lightweaving.

By your definition... I can't think of anything. If we went by my definition of magical realism, Name of the Wind counts, until they start introducing the name of the wind... There are, as someone else stated on this topic, far more magical realism TV series than books; while it may not entirely qualify, I'd recommend Constantine.

I've never played Geometry Dash, but I might take a look

I am praying for Dishonored II, or at least a Definitive Edition for the new consoles.

'That wizard came from the moon!' ___ Also known as the most bland line delivery I've seen since Ride to Hell: Retribution, but then again, he was supposed to be voicing an emotionless AI. Destiny, I'd say, is good; good, but not great. And one hundred million dollars won't make a game great, it will just inflate a developer's ego and graphics budget. Class: Hunter Sub-class: None yet Race: Awoken Clan: None Level: 14 Weapon layout: Shotguns = instakills, even on bosses. Against regular enemies, a scout rifle Favorite enemy: Definitely not goblins, and other bullet sponges. The hive as a favorite enemy, not because of moon wizards (literally a one shot kill with a shotgun, regardless of level), but because of a good mix of melee and ranged opponents to keep combat interesting.

Remotely Brandon-related discussion topics

When you add an exclamation mark after meta, it looks at first glance to be metal. It might just be my eyesight, though. I would upvote, but, and I quote, 'you have reached your quota of positive votes for the day' -
I would be... shoved into a laboratory and dissected to find out how I can live forever, thereby extinguishing the breaths.

Tragedy strikes, as a caterpillar slowly climbs up the tree, ready to devour your OTP... -
I have physically run out of upvotes to give at this point. Rather than reply instantaneously to every post on this topic, I'll head off for a while until I'm allowed to upvote people again.

I can't make any jokes about alliterations using Temporally Distortive Infringement of Psychic Property, but I can't have everything in life.

How many of us saw this topic, and came here just to post something along those lines?

As I said in my previous post, time travel telepathic theft (apologies, I'm aiming to annul this alliteration) is becoming a real issue. As judge, jury and executioner, your sentence is to sit around feeling guilty for abusing time travel. Then again, no hard feelings; if I had access to a time machine and a brain as brilliant as mine, I'd probably steal my ideas too.

*Insert witty response here* I just did a google search after writing that line... apparently 866.000 other people have used *Insert witty response here*. Time travel telepathic theft is getting out of control. In books, definitely The Final Empire. The best structured of the ones I've read so far, with the best overall pacing; and, unlike the Well of Ascension, active main characters instead of reactive (they actually do things for their own reasons, rather than just reacting to things other characters do). The Way of Kings is a close second, though I've never really been much of a fan of books that someone could break my bones with. It had the same amount of plot as The Final Empire, but spread twice as thin, although the characterization partly makes up for it. In characters... I'm going to sound incredibly generic here, but I'll say Kelsier, for being a morally complex protagonist without becoming an antihero; he clearly had good intentions, but some of his methods were... over-doing it. Followed by Hrathen from Elantris, a suitably complex villain. Actually, that got me thinking... Didn't Hrathen do the exact same thing Kelsier was planning (Murder all the aristocracy) in Duladel? Then followed by Shallan.

I've been studying sociology for the past year, and while I know absolutely nothing useful from that year of study, this looks like it could work. On another note, that's the fastest reply I've seen on any forum to one of my posts. I think its been a total of 0.5 minutes since I made that post. EDIT: I just checked the clock, twenty minutes since I made that post.

Someone beat me to Insert Original Title Here... and to *introduces self*. Someone probably already did *Insert Self-Aware Introduction Here*, but I wasted my creativity on theories that I just searched to find out someone else already posted. Who knows, someone might post something with that title while I'm still typing this. Read everything vaguely Sanderson except Alcatraz and Words of Radiance (currently still in the post). The average lifetime for a Sanderson book anywhere near me is around three days, a week for the Way of Kings (is he trying to compete with Robert Jordan?). Deliberately avoiding the Cosmere Theories and Stormlight Archive sections of the forum, mostly because, if I see a spoiler tag, I want to click it, never mind the consequences. Spoiler tags and me are like putting a big red button with 'launch nukes' written on it in front of a three year old. What do you think is going to happen? I was going to add a self-aware joke based on my previous statement starting with (Character) death and resurrection from Words of Radiance without using spoiler tags, spoiled to me by the forum, but I have no idea what the spoiler policy is for this section. I would have probably put something along the lines of 'if I put spoiler tags, you would have clicked on them. At least this way, your eyes might glance past without fully registering'. But now, by my removal of the name, you are feeling curious... yes... listen to my voice, just watch me sway this watch back and forth... you are feeling very sleepy... look up the character death, without being able to blame me for it being spoiled... Also, note to admins: There is a spambot loose in General Brandon Discussion.

And now you've depressed the entire forum...

Vasher has been shown to drain the color from black objects; would it be possible to drain the color from Nightblood to fuel Awakening? Or would Nightblood be considered to be alive, in the same way that you can't drain from living plants, animals and people? On that note, is it Investiture that prevents an Awakener from draining from something? If that's so, it should be possible to drain color from drabs and impossible to drain from Awakened objects, while plants and animals would have Breath. Is anything stated in relation to draining from Drabs and Awakened objects? Perhaps the servant Vasher had cut had become a drab, since Nightblood somehow drained the color from his hand. But why, in that case, wasn't it noticed? Perhaps Nightblood 'corrupted' the Breath, making it provide no resistance against Awakenings, but still visible to people above the First Heightening.
