  1. On another forum, I found a link to this: http://www.sixwordstories.net/ I got a little bored, so decided to continue to it here for all you infinitely-creative, Sanderson fans. So, everyone, just have a go. My attempt: "Dead men can still hold knives."
  2. He suddenly fell to the ground, his legs giving way despite the Shardplate. "Sadeas is dead," he said, right before he hit the ground.

Haha, I know. The little we see of him, anyway

Funny you should ask that, really. It's actually the name of one of the protagonists I'm working on in my novel. It was initially Valyn, but then I saw that in Brian Staveley's "The Emperor's Blades", so decided to change it a little. Then, when I made this account, I used the new name for the 17th Shard! P.S. I love your name. It's from Mistborn, right?
  5. Shallan's simple, sarcastic line: "'Ah, the outdoors,' Shallan said. 'I visited that mythical place once.'" It's not the funniest, but it just shows Shallan's witty nature.
  6. I can't wait for Dalinar's flashbacks, so I'm glad that Brandon is considering moving his POV Flashbacks from Book 5 to Book 3, and also, I'm not particularly interested in Eshonai's flashbacks ... damnation it, where's Adolin instead? XD

    Ask Varyn anything

It seems I'm not as interesting as I'd expected
  8. What was it that originally sparked your interest in the Fantasy Genre?

I hope you know the drill I'm talking about. The bright yellow one, Dewalt, I think. I've never heard of Home Depot, so I cannot assure you, but hope should guide you on your way. Go, search, and ye shall find, Kobold King!

So, here goes... You all know the drill; ask away. I'll answer anything, within reason. Hopefully, the answers are satisfactory. What are you waiting for? Ask!
  11. We can still put metal in the Pie
  12. I don't know whether it's just me, or I am just particularly susceptible to betrayal, but I am honestly really surprised that no one has mentioned Moash yet.
  13. Jesus in Nazareth... Nah, I don't know, just what Google said A metaphor for Kaladin saying the oaths, perhaps?
  14. I'm 99.99% sure that we have a Word of Brandon that all of the Cosmere novels are in some way connected. I'm still looking for a quote from him that specifies exactly that it's true, but for now, here's one that shows that Hoid travels between the universes, thus basically showing that it is real: http://www.reddit.com/r/books/comments/2ytg2h/im_novelist_brandon_sanderson_ama/crzxlpl?context=3 In other words, unless Brandon suddenly states that we've all been misled, then yes, they're all connected.
  15. I'd definitely recommend Warbreaker. It's a great work, and also free to read on Brandon's webiste.
  16. INTJ, and proud Unfortunately, most people assume when I'm trying to get things correct, I am just being arrogant. It's not the easiest thing to deal with. Oh, well, everyone's always got a need for Architects.
  17. I think it'd be pretty amusing if Tevidian and Vin were his descendants, and he's secretly a Tekiel
  18. Welcome to the Forum, friend. It seems like you're really enjoying Sanderson, and I must say that you came to the right place to share that with the Internet. Have a nice time on 17th Shard! Hope to see your rank from upvotes get to 10,000 by the next Cosmere novel release
  19. This. I can't see Kaladin's parents being there right from the start of the book, simply for the sake of his character growth. Finding his parents there and having the opportunity to take revenge on Roshone - if he's still there - just seems too much a moment of happiness. I agree in that I think Kaladin will have to make a decision.
  20. Meh, I can only think of 10. Good luck everyone else 1) Optimus Prime 2) Bumblebee 3) Ratchet 4) Ironhide 5) Megatron 6) Starscream 7) Sideswipe 8) The Fallen 9) Sentinel Prime 10) Shockwave
  21. I'm 15. I don't know how that relates to the US Schooling System, however.
  22. Voted Words of Radiance, The Emperor''s Blades, and then Words of Radiance again. There's a great selection this year
