  1. Why do you think that would be the case? Lerasium-created Mistborn are much stronger than your average Final Empire Mistborn, so he or she can flare their metals for higher gain (and therefore burn through them faster than somebody with a "regular" flare), and their base advantage in strength doesn't come from their faster burn, it comes from a stronger burn - more bang for their buck, so to speak.

I realize that now. I meant to edit that post and retract the question, but I forgot. I need to reread the Mistborn Trilogy, obviously.

    @Argent

That's my intuition as well, but I can't recall if we have a WoB actually telling us that stronger Allomancer => more bang for the buck.

I couldn't find one either. He is very tight-lipped on lerasium.

Joe: merged, just use the edit button

  2. I don't get it?

    Are you blond?

Three blind mice walked into a bar, but to derive humor from that would be exploitative, because they are unaware of their surroundings.

What's black and white and read all over?

    A newspaper.

What's green and yellow and red all over?

    A frog in a blender.

  3. Ignore all the cookie haters, if they advise you not to take cookies they must be evil, I mean who hates cookies?

That said welcome to the 17th Shard, take an upvote and a delicious, delicious cookie.

Nobody really hates cookies, especially the victims people who eat them.

  4. Well played, Steel. A tad evil, but very funny. And even better, it's the prank that keeps on pranking.

I just ran across this for the first time.

Okay, this thread needs to die. The phrase "Stones Unhallowed" bypasses all kinds of higher functioning in my brain and goes straight to the "EXCITEMENT, RELEASE CHEMISTRY IN THE BLOODSTREAM!" phase...

    Yep.

  5. I seem to recall a time when that Jedi precognition failed.... Execute order 66....

Also, even though it was mentione Windrunners get a serious combat skill buff simply by being wind runners. Also I don't think anyone has really brought in the factor of where they're fighting. I lean towards the Shardblade for various reasons, but I think this is turning into a Radiants vs Jedi post at this point.

I don't think pre-cognition failed then. You don't see them just being gunned down fir the most part.

  6. I'd disagree on that one. Vasher was a main character in Warbreaker to me.

I said I do consider Vasher to be a main character. But the FOCUS (sorry for the caps; I'm on my Kindle and don't have access to the options) was on the tension between Idris and Hallandren.

  7. I should have said:

Does Szeth appear to have a greater level of power when Surgebinding while he is BONDED to an Honorblade...

Edit: I'm working on a theory that has to do with the levels of consumption of Stormlight by various people, and Szeth is a big one because of the Honorblade.

  8. My first book was actually Way of Kings. I'm in the minority there. I finished reading WoK maybe a year ago, had some questions, and turned to Google. Most reasonably popular books have someone on-line talking about them, after all....Coppermind ambushed me out of nowhere!

After spending two or three days in the rabbit-hole, I read the Mistborn series, Elantris, and Warbreaker, in that order.

Then I read WoK again, rinsed, and repeated. It wasn't until I read Alloy of Law again that I got interested in all the theories and discussion.

I was also lucky in that Words of Radiance was out right when I wanted it.

I found my daily fix with 17s, lurked for a while here and then joined a couple days ago.
