  1. Since we know that Adonalsium could have been broken differently, I'm guessing that the reason many of the shard holders wanted him dead was manifested in the intent of the shards they took up. The only one that seems odd so far is Ati, since it was said hew was a decent guy and was "corrupted" by Ruin.. Maybe Ati was talked into helping kill him? Sort of a "Hey, come and help us do this because it needs to be done!" kind of thing.
  2. I could also see her being "taken in" by Trell and (at least for a while) becoming an antagonist. She has been well setup for it IMO
  3. Since this is the spoiler board, and Amazon has not released the novella yet... could you post the reason please?
  4. The biggest problem I see with them having already landed on the moon is that Scadrial doesn't have any moons.
  5. Ok, we're done with "The name of this book is a secret" series, and the "Janitors" series by Tyler Whitesides (That one was enjoyed a lot). Other than Pratchet, anyone else have books that are similar in style and/or content to Alcatraz?
  6. THink we will be left with this as a cliffhanger, or do you think we will get chapter 7 a day before book release?
  7. Could you please link the posted chapter? I'm not finding it...
  8. Or he is going to leave Steris and go for Marasi
  9. If "large amounts of investure means sentience" would a logical progression from that mean that investure itself is sentient?
  10. Honestly, this is even more sad. I'm trying to put myself in her position with her way of thinking and her family situation and I can't help but feel depressed at it. She has NO ONE she can talk to, and is likely anticipating a marriage of "status" that she won't have any meaningful relationship with her husband either. I hope we get at least one part from her perspective, because I have to imagine she is either (unhealthily) devoid of emotion, or is totally broken up on the inside due to feelings of isolation... If things don't actually develop between her and Wax, I picture her as a mother whose entire life and existence revolves around her child(ren) and keeps them sequestered and stifled out of fear of losing them.
  11. Does the story ever say where Steris's mother is? Why is she not able to talk to her mom about personal things like she is inquiring about...
  12. I hope I did not do a bad thing by even mentioning it here...
  13. Part of it was there, but not the whole chapter (some missing/skipped pages). THere are also lots of bits from other further chapters which is what (I presume) Peter is talking about that we should not read.
  14. I'm going to take that as a "no" then.
  15. Are we allowed to comment here about chapter 4 after reading it on Amazon.com's preview of the book?
  16. I Never really thought about this until this morning. They do mention once in TFE that all inquisitors are male, but so far as I can tell, there is never a reason given (or implied as far as I can find). Anyone have any thoughts on this?
  17. If there really is a survival shard, maybe Kelsier can pick that one up? THAT would be interesting...
  18. I was just listening to Hero of Ages this morning, and Sazed said that the inquisitors with their spike for feruchemical health could not store it as fast as a normal feruchemist due to the loss of power inherant to hemalurgy (which was why they had to rest so much). Assuming that is a standard result, then spiking someone for a feruchemical ability they already have should allow them to store more of an attribute at a quicker rate than someone unspiked .
  19. Is this saying by implication that Syl is the first spren to form a different weapon for their host?
  20. Tha makes sense from a "this is how they start" perspective, but do you think they would have defaulted back to that shape when they died?
  21. Considering what we know of shardblades now (that they used to be spren and could change forms) why are all of them "blades"? Could ALL of the knights really have preferred the sword to other weapons? If not, why have we not seen a shard spear, or shard mace, (or shard fork??)
  22. I seem to remember a WOB that said that he might still use Vin and Elend again someday. Maybe if you have the bodies, you can bring the spirit back to it and bring them back to life? The understanding those two had WOULD be useful...
