  1. Term 7: Month 2 - Final Words Unspoken Amari sat up late at night, writing a report for the Master Archivist about his family traditions. In particular, the Master seemed to be very interested in the last words of his ancestors, since it was traditional to end their life with a meaningful saying that had been refined and polished throughout their lives. Amari already had a phrase, although he didn’t think of it very often. Thoughts of death were never pleasant. He stretched, staring out past his candle into the darkness outside his window. “Anything could be out there…” he mused to himself. “Anything. And here I am, stuck doing a stupid report on my ancestors’ last words! The only thing worse would be derivatives.” He had a math assignment due the next day, which he was carefully avoiding thinking about. Soon enough, it was easy to forget, when something flew over his head and embedded itself in the wall with a sharp thwack!. He jumped out of his chair, staring at the arrow which was now ruining the beautiful tapestry which his grandmother had handed down to him when she’d died. Really? I liked that tapestry! But more immediate concerns were brought to the forefront when another arrow slammed into the back of his chair. He yelped and ducked beneath his desk, hoping the thick wood would save him. It didn’t. A third arrow slammed through the desk and into Amari’s chest, fatally wounding him and rendering him unable to speak. His last thought was that he hadn’t even been able to say his last words. His last sentence? ‘The only thing worse would be derivatives.’ And such was the despair which overwhelmed him that he died without further ado. Araris has died! He was a Student who had studied in Physicking, Arithmetic and Archives! Clanky was brought on the Horns and charged with Conduct unbecoming. He was sentenced to lashings. This cycle will end in 48 hours from now - 00:30 on Thursday Morning, British Summer Time. Credit for the writeup goes once again to Elbereth - to whom we are eternally grateful! Edit: All PMs are now out.

  6. Given the strength of some players advocating the innocence of Strawman, I almost think we ought to lynch him regardless of how suspicious we find him - purely for the information we'll get on players who defended him and who pressed for his lynch. For now, at least, my vote will stay where it is.
  7. Ada, further to Lopen's question, if the tied player survives the following cycle, despite the additional vote, does that vote remain in cycles thereafter? I am here, Lopen - whilst I was on late last night (rollover is at 10pm for me), there was little I felt I could meaningfully contribute - but will be online from now until a couple of hours into Chapter 2.
