Yes Venli might have caused the destruction of her people. But it was not her Intent to do so. She was trying to find a way to preserve her people. When Others of her people got taken over she was truly saddened.

There are several points throughout Oathbringer and Words of Radiance where Venli is explicitly connected to ambition in the text. Furthermore, by the end of the novel she is a traitor to Odium's forces, having bonded a non-voidspren.

Look at the back-cover blurbs from a more meta perspective. Four characters are on all three books: Kaladin, Shallan, Dalinar, and Szeth. Three of these characters have had viewpoints in normal chapters of all three books; Szeth has chapters in all the Interludes in WoK and one Interlude chapter in WoR. In WoR, Eshonai has chapters in every Interlude and is added to the back-cover blurb.

It makes sense to me that this pattern continues. Venli is the character who has chapters in every set of Interludes, so she is the one that is added to the blurb.

this make tukks the first dead worldhopper on roshar

The Parshendi looked eager, angry, deadly. They wanted blood. They would cut into the bridgemen and rip them apart, then drop the bridge—and their corpses—into the void beneath.
It’s happening again, Kaladin thought, dazed and overwhelmed. He found himself curling up, drained and shaken. I can’t get to them. They’ll die. Right in front of me. Tukks. Dead. Nelda. Dead. Goshel. Dead. Dallet. Cenn. Maps. Dunny. Dead. Dead. Dead …Tien. Dead.

    Chapter 67: WORDS

Or at least Kaladin thinks he's dead.

In general, I found this theory pretty convincing, and I'm on board.

Here are some WoB from the Oathbringer Release Party that I can help out with:

Here are the book pictures which I have also uploaded to Arcanum: (spoiled for size)

The last one and https://wob.coppermind.net/events/171/#e8177 are both from @JoyBlu, who got my copy of Warbreaker and her copy of Arcanum Unbounded signed.

    https://wob.coppermind.net/events/171/#e8175 and https://wob.coppermind.net/events/171/#e8169 are both mine (@OrangeJedi)

On https://wob.coppermind.net/events/171/#e8175 I think that audio might have been cut short, I remember say something like; They have done worse and Brandon laughing, but the mic might not have picked that up.

Also the person who asked https://wob.coppermind.net/events/171/#e8169 was part of my group; I will asked him for what he said so we can get rid of those nasty *inaudible*

Obviously the footnotes on @JoyBlu's book one need to be updated; I think everything else is fine.

A big thanks to the Arcanum staff and for getting those WoB out; It was like an early Christmas. I really appreciate what you guys do and so am glad I can help.

Book personalizations have been split into three entries and updated with the questions from the images. Questioner names should also be updated on all the entries you posted. Let me know if I missed anything!

SOrry to be that guy but can someone point me to where I can find more information about these "densities" this is the first time I've heard of any of this

Check out the Coppermind page here: https://coppermind.net/wiki/Shadesmar

It has links to all the Expanse pages and some general info. There might be spoilers for Oathbringer though, so be careful if you haven't read it yet.

Another thing of note that has bugged me pretty much since WoK: Blood.

Singer/Parsh blood is always described as being orange and smelling moldy, and the narrative references that often. One context is that that is continously mentioned to set them apart from red blooded humans, but we see the orange and red blood of singers and humans repeatedly juxtaposed with the purple blood of cremlings, axehounds and greatshells. Now animals in real life (several clades of invertebrates for example) have blood markedly different than our red stuff, but as @Blightsongsaid it's never just one species. It's whole groups with similar blood chemistry so you can derive lines of decent and evolution by comparing and contrasting. Singers are the *only* life forms we see on Roshan with orange blood.

So I think it's likely that they themselves are not related to the rest of the ecology on Roshar. They might have been humans long ago, or they might have been something else from somewhere else. But I'm not even convinced they are native to this planet. In fact how ironic would it be that the "true inhabitants" of the planet fighting the "invaders" are just an older group of migrants who have had longer to adapt? And the only truly indigenous sentient life, the Amiens, are more or less reduced to a side player in their own world. Do we ever see Axies or one of the Sleepless bleed and find out what color their blood is?

As far as I know, we haven't seen an Aimian of either type bleed on-screen. However, in the Prelude, Kalak walks through a battlefield that contains both orange and violet blood. I think it's likely the purple is intended to Aimian blood (probably Dysian); Arclo alludes to having fought alongside the Knights Radiant in the past.

  6. Do you want literally every piece of chronological info on the second spreadsheet? As an example, you already have down that Chapter 29 takes place four days after Chapter 27. Do you also want lines from Chapter 29 like "Her team was tired, as was Shallan, who suffered from the long nights as Veil"?

It's not canonical? Brandon wrote it and it's on tor.com.

Here's a quote from Brandon himself on that link:

This scene is even rougher than most—first draft, and shouldn’t be taken as canon quite yet, as I haven’t firmed up or fixed all the terminology or Shadesmar interactions.

In general, deleted scenes and early drafts are not considered canon. Only the final, published version.

We also instruct that you should not return to Obrodai. We have claimed that world, and a new avatar of our being is beginning to manifest there. She is young yet, and— as a precaution— she has been instilled with an intense and overpowering dislike of you. This is all we will say at this time. If you wish more, seek these waters in person and overcome the tests we have created. Only in this will you earn our respect.

Sanderson, Brandon. Oathbringer: Book Three of the Stormlight Archive (p. 506). Tom Doherty Associates. Kindle Edition.

If you look at this together it reads like it is the same place. The waters and the test seem pretty clear to be Patji and it implies to me Hoid has been there before. I do see the possibility of Patji being a splinter though as she calls it an Avatar.

Oathbringer spoilers here and in quote

    Spoiler

I agree that "the waters and the tests" seem likely to refer to First of the Sun/the islands on the planet. However, it seems clear to me that these are separate from Obrodai. The writer (which I believe is Autonomy, who we know to have multiple personalities/avatars) says "don't come to Obrodai", and then says "seek these waters". That reads to me like Autonomy wants Hoid to come somewhere else (not Obrodai) to talk. Obrodai is "that world", First of the Sun/Patji is "these waters".

  9. I mean...

    1. Azure is on Roshar looking for a sword made by Vasher

    2. She has a similar sword herself

    3. As of the end of Warbreaker, there are potentially three people who know how these swords are created: Vasher, Vivenna, and Yesteel. Vivenna is the only woman in that group.

    4. Azure trained with the sword and in Awakening with Vasher (says she learned the kata from him, uses Awakened clothing on her arm the same way).

    5. Not much time passes between the Warbreaker sequel and Way of Kings (source: https://wob.coppermind.net/events/87-white-sand-vol1-release-party/#e5657)

    6. As Willow points out above, her hair changes color, indicating that she is a member of the Idrian royal family. She also indicates a royal background in conversation with Adolin.

So unless, in the short time between the books, there is another member of the Idrian royal family who also trains with Vasher and who he decides to tell about how to make swords like Nightblood, I'm not sure who else it could possibly be.

How do we know that Felt is from Mistborn? I strongly suspected him to be a worldhopper (heck, anytime a character thinks someone looks Shin, they're probably looking at either a Herald or a worldhopper), but I didn't have any clue as to his identity.

He uses the same name in both places. IIRC he's in multiple books. Also confirmed by WoB here: https://wob.coppermind.net/events/2-jordancon-2016/#e138

It's probably Shalash, yeah.  But it's interesting that dead spren also have their eyes scratched out.

For sure. There's definitely something going with eyes in general, between those two things and the glowing eyes of the Fused and the way that Shardblades/Radiancy change eye color.

Mraize suspects there is a way to detect surge binders. He tells this to Shallan in the letter about Heleran, but Mraize says he hasn't yet figured it out. This might be one of the lies Pattern notices, but still.

There must be some way to detect the use of Surgebinding (or fabrials) because the voidspren do it in Kholinar.

  13. 1 hour ago, Michael Portz said:

Ahemm... eyes scratched out, why shouldn't this be Mayalaran? Perhaps she is a daughter of a King of Spren and perhaps she scratched out her eyes when in pain after her Radiant broke the bond.

Because we've literally seen Shalash (who is the daughter of Jezrien, a king and wind-person) going around scratching out the eyes on various depictions of herself. It fits perfectly already. If it were not Shalash, why would it be Mayalaran? There are a bunch of other dead Shardblades around, presumably all with scratched out eyes (hence the "deadeye" term).

This seems pretty open and shut to me.

  14. 59 minutes ago, StormingTexan said:

I agree with this. Just like they would call Nightblood a spren the listeners would more than likely call use of any magic surgebinding. So I think we shouldn't get too hung up on the term in the literal sense.

Speaking of the Oathpact now that we know why the Last Desolation was held off for 4500 years it sure does seem convenient that when it was abandoned all the Heralds lived except Taln.

That's why they chose to abandon it then. If somebody else had died, they may have forced themselves to return to Braize for another round of torture. But because the opportunity presented itself, they took it.

  15. I've seen a couple comments like this, and I generally think people who have read the other Cosmere books are more aware of these things, which makes them stand out more. There are so many unexplained things just within the setting of Stormlight itself (Voidbinding anyone?) that I don't think one sword that works slightly differently than expected is a huge deal for the characters.

There should be only one "only" in the sentence.

Edit: BTW, is there a tag for "inaudible"? Feel like it'd be useful to be able to search for possible improve-able posts.

Yeah, I think he's saying "I'm not going to ask for spoilers, but...". Fixed that. You check the "needs attention" tag (found here) for some other ones that have inaudible parts, if you feel like trying to decipher them.
