... I would probably be more willing to settle for dead. No worse than dead stuff for me, thank you.
-
wait... I have never heard of Winds of Winter or Doors of Stone. Are those recently announced or something? Also, Nigudo, I totally agree that it will probably be released in 2017, UNLESS he has undivided attention on SA, and that is not going to happen. Last I checked, he was only 25% through the prewrite, so it will definitely be a while. And like I said, there are so many more books planned in the near-ish future that it would be miraculous if any majority got released as soon as any of us would like.

Question about Zahel, COSMERE SPOILERS
Elsecaller3414 replied to MitchBade's topic in Stormlight Archive
The only thing that bugs me about that is that Warbreaker was not my favorite Sanderson book, and SA is my all-time favorite. I don't like crossovers. To me, it should be that some particular powers are only relevant on one world, not two or three. The Surgebinding belongs on Roshar, and Breath does not. Sorry, Warbreaker fans, but that's just how I feel. -
I don't really know very many people that have picked up WoK other than myself, (and you people on the forums) and about 5 of those people could not get through it. Trust me, it can be hard. I mean, one of those people read the entire Wheel of Time saga without getting bored, but could not even get through the prologue. So totally worth it, though.

That is very likely. However, if it isn't Renarin, then we can still rule Dalinar out because there were other people (namely Navani) in the room with him when he had his visions. That is, if it would happen during visions.

Question about Zahel, COSMERE SPOILERS
Elsecaller3414 replied to MitchBade's topic in Stormlight Archive
He probably will have a significant role because he is a Worldhopper. Not entirely sure though. Demoux, Galladon and whoever else was with them have not reappeared as far as I know, so it could just be that he is there just for the fun of it. -
The heralds, where are they now(spoilers)
Elsecaller3414 replied to .S.A.M.K.M's topic in Stormlight Archive
I had not heard that all the Heralds have been seen, but I know of 3. Not entirely sure about the whole excrement thing, though. If I was one of the Radiants, I would not want that woman to be the Herald in charge of my order. -
So. It sounds like Sanderson has to finish the Mistborn trilogy, as well as the next two trilogies. I think. There is also the Rithmatist #2, and Calamity, and Alcatraz, and the Stormlight Archive, as well as Nightblood and anything else he wishes to do on that world.. I have also heard that he will be continuing stuff on Sel (Elantris, Emperor's Soul). So at least 20 more books planned? And I am so glad that I am younger than he is so I can read all the stuff he writes, unless I die first, but that would be tragic and I don't plan on it.

Totally with you there. But, with ANY of the Stormlight characters, I would probably die or something equally tragic if they died.
-
I have heard that Sanderson works on a whole bunch of projects at once, and I am coming to see that it is so true. He is working on Calamity, the Mistborn novels, the Stormlight Archive, he has released several books in the last six months, etc. I have never gotten so many books from one author in such a short period of time released. As long as he keeps writing, I am okay with the third Stormlight book being released next year. Even though that is my favorite of his works.

Whats the connection of Earth and Roshar?
Elsecaller3414 replied to FlatLine's topic in Stormlight Archive
Well, it almost seems that the natives on Roshar would be the Parshendi, if there was a migration from Yolen. The Parshendi can grow shells, just like the native crustaceans. I think that horses and "chickens" were also part of the migration, if such a thing exists. -
Helaran had (Amaram has) an Honorblade
Elsecaller3414 replied to wolverinehokie's topic in Stormlight Archive
Pretty much, you would have to behead them or ruin their brain in such a way that it is, I don't know, squished immediately? Anyway, the eye piercing might be able to work, as it likely punctured the brain. If not, then that proves that Helaran is not a Radiant. -
What Is So Special About The Kholin Family?
Elsecaller3414 replied to ZxlinkxZ's topic in Stormlight Archive
Well, if you think about it, think in a way of rocks and water. Water cannot get into rocks if there is not AT LEAST a crack. If the water freezes, then the rock can become more cracked, allowing for more water to get in, and freeze, and the process continues. Shallan probably had something in her past that we do not know about yet, which caused greater breaking later on. -
Theories About Szenth's Dark Sphere
Elsecaller3414 replied to The Unhallowed's topic in Stormlight Archive
IF it did come from a Parshendi source, my thought was that maybe the plan was to give Gavilar the sphere, then make sure that he failed in his endeavors. In which case, it would make sense that the Parshendi would assassinate him. That, or maybe it was going too well and he was no longer their pawn.- 51 replies

That makes sense. When I read your post, I was thinking that it sounds very much like plant roots. Once the roots take hold, it is much harder to pull up the plant. Of course, if the plant could think and move about, it would be hard to change locations without leaving the roots behind.

Ooh! Thanks, I was looking for those.

Theories About Szenth's Dark Sphere
Elsecaller3414 replied to The Unhallowed's topic in Stormlight Archive
Maybe she didn't quite have the means of unlocking the power, or she gave it to Gavilar to wreak havoc, like in his brain or something. That is, IF she was the original holder. It would tie some loose ends regarding the Parshendi. Not all, though. That probably won't come for a long time.- 51 replies

So... with the whole traveling Shards thing, is it limited to a single solar system, or can they travel throughout the cosmere?
-
wait... Old backpack? And yes, I knew that Gavilar was not a main character when he died. He still isn't a main character, true, but finding out about him does have its relevance, I think.
-
Well, he did kill Gavilar at the beginning of the series, and that means something, even though the only things we ever hear from him are in the point of view of Dalinar. And, well, Jasnah didn't really die, so that doesn't count to me, either.
-
Isn't Cultivation also on Roshar? People talk about that shard a lot.
-
My main problem is that I like most of the main characters too much for them to die. But yes, you have a great point there. Welcome to the 17th Shard, by the way.
-
Yeah, it would be unlikely at this point in time. Though it seems that Elhokar is very susceptible to seducing in some ways, unfortunately, so maybe Amaram might worm his way up the line like the slimeball that he is. Kind of like Grima in Lord of the Rings, if you have read that.
-
It would probably ignore the Stormlight, unless it was considered a way to get Breath, in the case of Vasher. That is why he went to Roshar, after all. He didn't like stealing breath, as far as I can tell. I guess that still doesn't answer it, because I don't remember whether the color came from Breath or not... I have GOT to go read that book, like right now.

Theories About Szenth's Dark Sphere
Elsecaller3414 replied to The Unhallowed's topic in Stormlight Archive
Rasha, thanks for the explanation. Upvote for that. Also, is there a way that we know of to contain Stormlight completely? I had heard of something like that in one of the books, but I can't remember.- 51 replies
