It seems to be a limited amount of power that gradually diminishes. At Soldier Field, David couldn't use the Tenser because Prof had only given him a small amount because he needed as much as possible.

Nightwielder Already Conquered His Weakness...
Blackhoof replied to Localconfusi0n's topic in The Reckoners
and sometime in the interim, he underwent race-change surgery, believing that he was, at his core, an asian man. -
How about this, for whatever RP wants me haha Maybe Astoria, since I don't want to cause too much disruption in Dalles and I like the idea of playing with a bunch of OP Epics haha Name: Hellfire Primary Power: Pyrokinesis. Can create and control fire. Can also control many properties of the fire he creates or controls, such as temperature, colour, smoke, shape (to some degree), solidity (can turn fire into a sort of plasma or napalm) and force (can make fireballs explode or have a kick to them when they hit). Unlike other Fire Epics, does not have a permanent fire shield around him and has to maintain it consciously at effort, lacking an inherent Prime Invincibility. Can use his power to fly. Secondary Power: Heightened Senses and Reflexes. Has reflexes that move at faster than the speed of sound, and can see, hear and smell far better than any human. This combines with his ability to create shields of flame to give him what is nearly a PI. Weakness: Salt water. Nearly drowned as a child, so fears the touch and especially taste of salt water. If he tastes it, he loses his powers completely. Quenches his fire instead of evaporating like fresh water would, and if he is wet with it he cannot ignite that part of his body or create fire through it, although he can still control existing fire and react super-fast. Modus Operandi: Ruled over an empire in the Australian outback, taking Ayers Rock as his fortress and allying with an Earth epic to carve out a city in its insides. Renamed it Hell's Rock, and marked the boundaries of his kingdom with a huge wall of fire. An evil, sadistic tyrant who delighted in burning people to death when they displeased him. Surprisingly cool-tempered for a fire epic, and usually possessed a cold anger when enraged. Did work to provide some amenities for his subjects though, creating a system of cold flames to cool down the place. Although did use these cold flames to freeze people to shake things up a bit. Backstory: Was an Ayers Rock tour guide before he manifested about two years after Calamity. His Rending killed his tour group and everyone else on Uluru, before declaring it and the surrounding area his domain. Recently fought off a group of American epics who tried to steal his kingdom, and they claimed that they were sent by (insert Epic emperor/ess from whatever RP i join), lying in an attempt to get mercy. It didn't work. Now he has come himself to teach this Epic a lesson, and warn any other American Epics from daring to cross the ocean. He was Australian, mate. OOC: I'm thinking he can pop in and ally with whoever is opposed to the Epic he is after. He doesn't necessarily want to kill the Epic, but cause destruction and trouble for them as a warning, mess their territory up a bit.

I think she just instinctually defended herself. Maybe if she had thought about it more, she would have decided to let him kill her since she reincarnates, but even then, dying hurts, and she is unsure if the Megan who comes back is the same one that dies.

Yeah, there are similarities. Ha, and just like in WOK, someone reveals that the device is a fake and they are using the magic themselves XD

hmmm fair enough I might create another character to use, because I don't want to overpower Iconoclast to the degree that it seems like i would need to, it goes against my idea for the character. I'll keep him in reserve for now, I think

I think you are way underestimating Steelheart. A few energy bolts destroyed an entire building (a skyscraper i think). Can you imagine Nightwielder being capable of something like that, destroying a skyscraper within a minute? His bolts seem more powerful than just fireballs- they have an explosive, plasma component to them that a fire epic probably wouldn't have. and then there is the simple fact that he is a flying, super-strong invincible man. Watch Man of Steel, and see the sheer damage that invincible, flying supermen can cause. If Superman wasn't fighting Zod and was making a dedicated effort to destroy rust, he could easily wipe out a small town. People would have been taking photos or facebooking the explosions they heard, but within seconds of even seeing Steelheart, he would kill you.

Know what would be hilarious? Epic Taylor Swift is actually not Taylor Swift, but s shape shifting fan who killed and became Taylor, and in a delusional fugue state believes completely that she is, in fact, Taylor Swift. hahaha "spaghetti? You are throwing SPAGHETTI at me? I'll-" *BANG* "This is nothing, ill heal right.... Why aren't i healing? oh no...." *BANG* what about Astoria? Do you think Iconoclast could fit in there, if i ramped up his powers a little? If i made his control over his ghouls more widespread? id just need to read it a bit better, i only skimmed it so far.

hmmm i guess you are right about the church thing. It would have done affect on him at least. Maybe if i change his weakness to specifically the Christian cross. I am a bit wary now that i made it too broad.... i was actually considering chucking in a cell of Reckoners that were hunting him. Honestly though, if the Reckoners cant guess his weakness based on the name Iconoclast alone i would be disappointed haha. Yeah, maybe I should wait for a bit... I can do that if need be. haha that would be quite funny though Hahaha Unless I change his weakness i am going to say yes. Provided Funtimes legitimately and truly believes (which it seems like she does aha).

fair enough, i figured portland was getting a big close to the end. meh, I considered making 'holy ground' weaken him too, but I figured he can't destroy a church or torture and eat priests if he can't go in them. So while yes, i guess churches COULD theoretically trigger his weakness, they don't, because hand-wavyness. It's like asking why By holy symbol i mean specifically the holy symbol for each religion- crosses, crescents, stars of david. Something you could wear or scratch onto a weapon and kill him with. Not abstract like churches or people or places or ideas. He has the same weakness as vampires in this area, essentially.

I suppose yo could say that, but it seems odd to classify such a specific form of mind control as separate from the ability to create the only creatures the mind control affects, you know? hahaha hmmm now that i think of it, that is true. He has indeed been moving in a relatively straight line. No particular destination in mind, of course, but yeah, if the lorists are making an effort to track him, then they will know he is due to attack the area very soon. well the ghoul numbers would build pretty quickly- it only takes seconds to turn people, and he begins doing it right away. Then mostly he lets the ghouls do what they will while he creates more and more in the background. no, he does not organize his numbers at all. Perhaps you are right, maybe he doesn't fit in with the Dalles RP. Maybe he could start by attacking one of the Triumvirate's towns? that makes sense, given his prior MO. Do you think he might fit in with the Portland RP better? Churches don't trigger his weakness- only specific holy symbols such as crosses do. Essentially, his fear is punishment for his crimes- that he was wrong about God and that he will pay for what he has done. This is what his hatred of order stems from- in order, there is crime and punishment, there are laws, and for a long time he considered the highest law to be the law of God. If there is no order, he cannot be punished for his crimes as he wouldn't have committed any. You cannot sin when sin does not exist. Holy symbols remind him of God, and thus religion, and thus order, and thus the possibility of just punishment, in this life or the next. Regardless, do you think I should rework the suggestion to be more wide-ranging and strong? I didn't want to make him too powerful

first, thanks haha -Its more of a general power of suggestion over all nearby ghouls, perhaps to a limit of 100 or so. He can exert enough influence to direct them in certain directions, and direct about 12 against certain targets. Otherwise they act like pack animals and wander in groups, killing and eating. -Not usually, no, the effect is permanent. Epics that can heal normal mental illness, however, could heal this with some difficulty, if such epics exist or are inclined. Physical healing doesn't work, as it effects them deeper than the physical. -he has wreaked a path of destruction from Texas, mainly avoiding big cities though, and overthrowing small town epics and their fiefdoms. He keeps a low profile personally, so lorists probably debate his existence, or wonder if stories of people going savage are exaggerated. Some might have heard his name, and surmised that he is the cause of the "plague" of ghouls that have been springing up and overrunning small towns. I don't know your lorists, but i think most will not be sure if he even exists, or if these ghouls really aren't just humans driven to extremes. ah, but that is the thing! he doesn't always use army tactics, not at first. He'll just sneak in and start turning people, until there are enough Ghouls to smash the army, government, and all churches and monuments in the Dalles. At first he will dress in ragged human attire, but later he will change his form and act like a ghoul, so he is identical to them (he just gets back up after being shot). Once he has had his fun, he will leave, and let people handle his ghouls how they will haha. He just wants to leave the place in chaos- only then will the strongest survive and the weak be weeded out, to strengthen the species. In his Epic madness he embraced a twisted social Darwinism. He also hates armies in general (too orderly, protects weakness), and will try to bring down the panda army as well. Pandas and animals in general are affected by his turning, but he rarely uses them in most cases. Rabid humans are much scarier. i think there could be done nice drama going on. I see Reader and Glass make their offices in a church? Well guess who loves destroying churches mwa ha ha

Awesome, thanks Name: Iconoclast Primary Power: Can turn people into raving, homicidal, sociopathic killers, much like epics but with even more rage and bloodthirstiness. Must touch fir several seconds to do this. Affected don't attack him, or each other, and hunger for blood and human flesh. They are fearless and feel no pain, but are otherwise human. Does not affect Epics. Iconoclysm can exert limited control over these ghouls. Secondary Power: Prime Invincibility Regeneration. Can regenerate from any wound as long as a single piece of flesh larger than a dozen cells remains. Regeneration from such a state takes days, but most wounds can be healed in seconds. Tertiary Power: Minor Body Alteration: can alter his body and form in minor ways. For example, he can grow claws, and strengthen his muscles to give himself enhanced strength and speed, but cannot grow new limbs or transform into other life forms. Relatively imprecise as well, so couldn't mimic another human or epic, even if they were a similar height and build. Is a gifter, and gifts this power to his ghouls so that they too can shape their forms. Weakness: symbols of faith and holy buildings. He cannot "turn" anyone carrying a holy symbol (any main religion) although he can affect them in any other way. Powers weaken when in close proximity to a holy symbol or on holy ground, and fail completely when in direct contact with one. Wounds sustained while his powers have failed will heal when the symbol is removed, but if he is killed while in contact with a holy symbol, he will not regenerate and be dead for good. Brand of evil: delights in chaos and the destruction of things that people hold dear. Has a pack of his ghouls around him at all times, for defence and support. Tends to wander the wastelands, killing, eating and turning any humans he comes across. Will often target Epic rulers, and bring down their kingdoms by spreading his insanity. Has his ghouls destroy every holy building and church, even monuments or statues, anything that people "worship", to show his contempt of their faith. Since his powers are weakened through all the gifting, he prefers to disguise himself as one of his ghouls. Backstory: Old name: Roger Moore. Was an ex-priest turned atheist who lost his faith in god when his wife was brutally murdered and raped in front of him. OOC: i was thinking he could be new in town, planning on turning the Dalles into a charnal house, just the way he likes it.

Poker is more skill than luck. Or at least, it isn't completely luck, like a draw or a slot machine. maybe games of chance are not his fear, but they are a symbol of it.

Firefight mentions that there is an Epic that loves soda so psys for a factory to pump it out.

[Spoilers]David Got Seriously Screwed [\spoliers]
Blackhoof replied to Localconfusi0n's topic in The Reckoners
David rejected the powers. He didnt want them, maybe even if he wasn't driven to kill all his friends with them. And right now, he is utterly unique, no-one else has been able to reject epic powers, ever. Him actually having powers would ruin the significance of that scene, where his refusal bewilders and enrages regalia. -
Hello, I was wondering how I might get involved with one of your RP's, the Dalles one in particular I have a few Epics in mind that I would love to play with a bit.

Calamity (The Reckoners #3) Takes Place in Atlanta
Blackhoof replied to Argent's topic in The Reckoners
I still think an epic that can bring back the dead in any form would have been mentioned. although.... That would be awesome, and quite ironic given it is the home of the CDC, who has their own zombie apocalypse survival plan hahaha -
Being an Epic in a GTA or prototype style game with other epics running around would be unspeakably awesome
