  1. It's more of a "If I vote on someone random, say Ornstein, and he turns out to be evil, I don't get any more info. If I vote on Jon, and he's evil, I have another lead to follow." I'm not suspicious of you yet. But if Jon turns out to be evil, his support of you gives me reason to think you're evil. Voting on him just gives me more information than voting on anyone else. (This doesn't work the other way around. If an elim supports someone, the person they support might be evil too. If someone agrees with an elim, they probably just agree with the elim's ideas. So I can't lynch you to convict Jon.)
  2. "And what, may I ask, hmm, do you actually, hmm, do around here?" Moneybags turned towards the elderly pony and shot her a winning smile. "Why, my dearie, I'm a real estate agent." "Hmm?" "A real estate agent" "Didn't quite, hmm, catch that." "A land buyer" "Whaat?" "I BUY FARMS AND THEN SELL THEM" "Oh." There was a short pause. "I don't want to sell my farm." She had a farm? Moneybags grinned, which was difficult as he was already smiling. "But you could win an amazing price for it," he said, "Enough to buy 40 apples or more." "What?" "I give up. YOU WIN! YOU CAN KEEP YOUR FARM!" "Oh." She paused for a few seconds. "I don't have a farm." "Excuse me for a moment," said Moneybags, still grinning madly. He trotted over to the nearest tree and thumped his head against it a few times. Much better. --- I played a game about rithmatics with Elenion recently in which he was an elim. He advocated a good strategy to keep the chalklings out, but turned out to be an eliminator. My guess is that Randuir figured out some strategy before the game started. It's common enough advice that someone would figure it out eventually, so if he was an eliminator, he'd post it anyways to get some trust. Come to think of it though, Jon is advocating Randuir's innocence. If Jon is an elim, Randuir probably is too.
  3. So I can only see three explanations as to why we haven't been sabotaged recently:: The skindancers aren't using their sabotage in order to foster suspicion The skindancers are being blocked by Fae Lore every time, and the blocker isn't telling us if it worked. The skindancers are all in the Crockery Of these three, I think it's most likely to be the crockery one. Did anyone bother to finish off Alvron? If not, we should probably do that first. Say, @Elbereth, is it possible to vote on people in the crockery? And potentially expel them that way? Because if so, they'd die immediately, right? And then we wouldn't need to bother with an assassin? Also, Aman was still on the streets?
  4. Cluny is a Rat, or not, possibly. Not really sure. If you can say one thing about Cluny, it's that he might be a rat. Or he might not be. Clearly, Cluny has experience at being a rat. Or at least experience. Honesty, I'm terrible at this. Might be better off looking at someone else.
  5. Sure, why not? Name: Moneybags Type: Earth Cutie mark: Cosmetic role: "Businessman": He came to Ponyville about a month ago with no connections, but a lot of money. Since he showed up, his neighbors have tended to find themselves a bit short on cash. Nobody actually knows where he works. Must include some reference to money in every post.
  6. I just don't feel like I have anything relevant to add to the conversation. If you want my thoughts, though: An interesting use of naming would be to fake your own death. So you have a write-up and your name is crossed off the list, but you're still alive. If any skindancer namers did that, we'd be in trouble. I hope you can't do that. That would be so misleading. Unless you had to post in the thread once per cycle or something Is it possible that Alvron was actually the last skindancer, and there was no kill because he's in the crockery? Will any useful contracts ever be put in Imre? If not, can you use names to find robots? Or artificery to create them? 500 talent reward, right there. Maybe the skindancers targeted someone with a bodyguard, bloodless, or Gram Or maybe fae lore did something after all Both of the attacked people had defenses I should suggest some tags. The GMs seem to really want them. I can't PM now, because I was expelled That seems to be the only downside, though. Oh, and also: Their abilities can only affect people in Imre, but players still in the Arcanum can affect them, even if they are not in Imre. But Imre actions aren't my abilities, right? Also, I'll die now if I'm sabotaged Which is fine Not like I'm complaining Just a thought
  7. With all the flexibility of naming, I'm sure it's possible to break someone else out of the crockery. I don't think you could do it through other fields or roles, though.
  8. Sure. I don't mind anyways, because I can't take any actions and can do nothing in the University. In response to your earlier question, giving more info about how that one person knows that Alvron is a skindancer would probably reveal them. I don't want to do that myself, but if that person wants to reveal themselves, that's their prerogative. Alvron's posts aren't suspicious, but he's had so much experience being an eliminator, that doesn't really matter. Alvron.
  9. Hang on. What makes me a mayor is that I suspect someone for some reason, then people follow me. The problem is that because I'm probably a villager, I don't need to provide evidence. I'm trying to skirt around that by saying I'm not a mayor, but that's not really the problem. The problem is that people will follow me even if I don't give evidence. So here's my evidence: Someone PM'd me with some information about Alvron. The information makes sense in the context of the rules, and points towards Alvron being a skindancer. It's not definite, but it's likely. I've had a feeling for a while that most of the eliminators were the experienced sort that wouldn't be caught out by suggesting anti-villager tactics. Alvron is an experienced player for sure. Knowing this, I'm analyzing his posts. Looking at all of these, I wouldn't say that's enough evidence on its own to condemn him. A few things of note, though Asks for a list of people in the pony Upon being voted on, his posts became longer Says he might go for the tuition of 0, but has never RP'd (Despite being fairly active) Upon Aonar being revealed, posts become more game-relevant Against Ari, Steph, Cluny Possibly for HH, as he was in the middle of the list of Rich, but at the beginning of the player list I'm more suspicious of HH right now. But now I can actually claim I'm not a mayor.
  10. Oops, my bad! Given that I definitely have no evidence whatsoever on Alvron, I'll remove my vote on him and place it on HH. Sorry about that!
  11. I would guess that his wind lets him redirect or block everything that's thrown at him. We can't kill him unless another namer uses their name to negate the effects of his name. I'll throw a vote on HH because of Stick's post and one on Alvron for undisclosed and entirely un-mayory related reasons, by which I mean that I am not a mayor and have no secret intelligence that tells me that he's a skindancer or anything.
  12. Escaping from the crockery isn't actually that difficult. True, you only have a 1/20 chance of escaping on each cycle, but those cycles add up. Not quite. If so, everyone would escape for sure by the 20th cycle. WARNING: MATH Just clearing some things up.
  13. My contact didn't fully trust me at that point. Now that I have revealed Aonar to the thread, they got back to me and explained how they knew that Aonar was a skindancer. Wilson, I feel like you've been focused on me a lot. When I was thrown into the crockery, you made a big deal about how not only might I not have been sabotaged, I might be a skindancer myself. Now you're accusing me of forcing people to do what I want just because I broke out. I'm not going to make a big deal about it, but I am telling you to back off a bit. By the power vested in me as mayor. And while we're on the subject of mayoring: My contact used the name of the wind targeting Aonar to find hidden messages. They found the skindancers doc. (They were talking about double tapping with a sabotage and a kill to get past a bodyguard) Aonar is a skindancer. It has nothing to do with Ankers.
  14. I believe that a skindancer would not have made that claim, because if it turns out to be false, they are immediately suspect. They contacted me rather than posting it in the thread themselves because they didn't want to become a target. Which I can understand, if they have the means to find more skindancers. So, to clarify, you lodged in Ankers (10% chance of an action failing,) and used wind to try and get information. Ankers caused your action to fail. However, you think that they also tried to stop you from taking an action. Because you were roleblocked and no sabotage happened on that turn, they figured you were a skindancer who put in that action. To prove your innocence, you will PM them and tell them who you will target this cycle. They can scan you and see that you are telling the truth. I understand where you're getting at (except for your last statement, which doesn't seem to prove anything except that you can target people.) I'll get back to you about that after I contact my source to confirm your story.
  15. It has been brought to my attention that Aonar is a skindancer. I don't know exactly how my contact knew that, but they were quite clear in that he is both a skindancer and a namer. As such, he is a serious threat. Aonar. Being expelled from the University won't stop him from getting new names, though. I recommend doing more than just voting on him.
  16. No problem with that. I was advancing in several fields, but was elevated in Physicking. Because I was sent to the crockery, I can't advance in that field anymore, and my single elevation was taken away. So I don't think it bears any relevance now.
  17. Wait, WHAT? I broke out of the crockery in my first turn? I had, like, 5 terms worth of RP lined up for when I couldn't escape! Anyways, it's late tonight and I don't have access to my notes, but I'm placing 2 votes on Joe. Joe. As I recall, an elevation tally created by Straw was inaccurate in that it excluded Joe. Joe also said that the field nobody had been elevated in was not such-and-such because he had placed EP in those fields just in case nobody else had. Since he was elevated, he couldn't have gone up in those fields, so his claim was invalid. This points to straw and Joe working together to draw attention away from each other. I'm voting on Joe, not Straw, because I don't think anyone's drawn attention to him yet. (As of last cycle. I haven't read this cycle yet) I have other notes, but as I said, I'm tired. I'll get back to you in 8 hours or so.
  18. Just popping in to say that I have a LOT going on for the rest of the week, and will probably be mostly inactive for the next few days. I'll still put in actions and post in the thread occasionally, but you're not going to see any detailed analysis from me.
  19. Ah. My bad. I tried searching for Sart's name with the search bar. Well, complaints this game don't give us info like they do in others. They just tend to inconvenience people. So, vote on people you want to inconvenience, not those you want to learn more about? Yeah, Queensteph seems worth voting on. I'll go for it.
  20. Yeah, but he didn't post during either of the terms. It's a full talent reduction just for posting, so I don't see why he wouldn't do that.
  21. By the way, why would @Sart put in EP but not post in the thread? I mean, he's an Edema Ruh, so he desperately needs the money. Unless he's not planning to attend the University? But then why would he put in orders for EP? Unless he just plans to get an ability and leave as soon as possible? It's confusing. And is he not posting because of inactivity or... no, because all he needed to do was say "Hey guys, I've got a lot going on," and he'd get a full talent reduction. I feel like he's trying to stay under the radar, like you can in normal games, but that didn't work here. Well, he'll be dead soon enough, because he's on the streets, but I'll complain about him anyways. Sart.
  22. Current vote tally: Wilson (1): Aonar HH (1): Drake, Drake Burnt (1): Alvron Drake (0): Randuir DA (5): Burnt, Joe, Eol, Drake, Stick, Arinian Aman (4): Burnt, Joe, PK, PK, Drake Mage (1): Wilson Queensteph (1): Mage Alvron (1): Mage Arinian (1): Drake Ornstein (1): Randuir Cluny (1): Randuir Stick (1): Aranian Brightness (1?): Aranian Burgundy (1): Hael (Blue votes were cast only after I voted, but are included to make the tally complete.) This is what happens when I don't advocate voting for everyone. I "at least tried to get a no vote going." Now, imagine that last cycle, instead of bringing up the idea of spreading the votes 14 hours in, I let it ride and only brought it up once it was clear that a no vote wouldn't work. I'm already being criticized for bringing it up late last cycle. Would waiting even longer have made me innocent? You mean like these people? Total: (+2). I'd say there are more people for me than against me
  23. Well, if we're voting again, I might as well drop a vote on Amanuensis. And another on Amanuensis. Just to lighten the load on others. It's already been mentioned, but I think I need to emphasize: Put in your housing orders. You won't stay where you are unless you specifically say that you're staying there. Unless you put in your housing orders, you will be put on the streets! For quick reference, if you're on the streets, positive actions on you have a 50% chance of failing, actions taken by you have a 50% chance of failing, and there's a 25% chance that you'll just die.
