Well, I can't take my vote off of you because you tried to kill me. But you managed to put together a pretty good cover story. Well done. Except for one thing . . . how did you know that the Children were called that? You were the first person to call them that by name.

So you're going to kill a person every night in the hope that you hit a Ghostblood? I'm keeping my vote on you for sure.

Good point. Killing all the ghostbloods seems like pretty serious win con for one person to have. I mean, normally it takes all of the villagers to combat a hidden faction.

So do you think there's no eliminator kill? Or do you think that it hit someone else who was protected?

I'm guessing someone's win condition is getting people sick. What conclusions jump to mind based on the books? I can't think of anyone else. Anyone else have ideas?

Well given that in order to find that info I needed both: An ability which protected me from that kill. And an ability that tells me when people try to kill me. I doubt that's likely.

Joe, you tried to kill me. You'll notice I'm not dead. And you'll notice there's no eliminator kill. And you'll notice that I'm rather bothered about that. I tried to be fair. I tried to be even. But this means war.

Oh come on! I told people not to use lynch redirects. Gosh, you can't trust anyone around here. Welcome, Burnt, goodbye, Elenion, [generic useless nighttime chatter] If I recall, I publicly revealed as a scholar and scanned one of the deads every cycle. And then I waited for the other scholars to die so I could set up my inevitable betrayal. Not sure how much help that is here, but if people publicly reveal themselves as scholars, they just turn themselves into targets.

Well, now's as good a time as any to switch my vote. Arraenae. Ecthelion. And call me paranoid, but if you're an independent with a vote manipulation ability, I'd recommend not using it this first cycle.

I may as well add my input on whether or not Magestar is guilty: Interesting thing about D1 lynches: The eliminators have info. The villagers don't. Therefore, the eliminators can manipulate the lynch to hit a villager. The villagers can't manipulate it to hit an eliminator. So in my experience, when you see something like this on D1, the leading candidate isn't an eliminator. I don't know Mage's playstyle, but I do know the eliminators like to get a free kill on the D1 lynch.

Hmm, good point. Well then, tonight we'll see whether they're a regular faction or a killing faction. You should come to Scadrial. We don't ask each other how we are or about SE at all! (but seriously, we've got like three pages of discussion. If you're looking for activity, go to Scadrial. But if you're looking for relevant conversation...)

Does anyone have confirmation that an eliminator needs to be on the same planet as someone else to make the kill? I mean, it's possible that the worlds are just for PM and goal purposes. And if not, you'll be chasing up the wrong tree. But if you know that's how the kill works, by all means, go ahead. Good plan.

I wish I was a Wayne Dude... No, these were come up with at random Well, it seems like others have information that I don't. I'll admit that one faction has the win condition of killing another faction, which, to their perspective, is a villager faction. If someone refers to them as villagers, I'll know who they're talking about. It looks like another faction is the one who set the trap, and is the one the villagers need to kill. I don't have any perspective from their view. (because who would admit being a member of that faction?) But from a few perspectives, these are the eliminators. If someone refers to eliminators, I know they're talking about the "gods own hate" faction. However, I'm not a villager or an eliminator. So from my perspective, I don't care. Villager, eliminator, what's the difference? They're just differently-named factions. So it all depends on perspective. People in those factions think this is a standard elimination game, plus some bystanders. I, and possibly a few others, don't have a villager or eliminator-themed goal, so villagers and eliminators seem like just another faction battling it out. As such, I'm not going to be as supportive of villager plans, because I just don't care. Nor will I be as supportive of eliminator plans (Assuming they come up with any in the thread) I have my own goals to accomplish, and revealing faction or world lists won't make a huge difference to me. Although I would caution villagers to not be too lax about revealing yourselves - The gods own hate faction will be able to single out villagers from independents/other factions, and they might want to kill the people who are killing them. Just a thought.

Let's say that they each have a doc and know each others' identities. (I was confused for a moment, because in this game, open factions have a PM, closed factions don't) There might not be this many factions in the game, but given that there's more than one, I figured this was a faction game, rather than an eliminator game. Which means nobody's bad and needs to be ganged up on. (Note: I am not endorsing Rayse here. His goal probably involves killing a few people. But my first game was MR7 and I don't like faction games being confused with eliminator games.)

Okay, thanks. I'm still trying to put together a full picture. All independents are Neutral, right? So we just need to classify factions into good or bad. I've made a list of random factions, tell me whether they're villager or eliminator: Kelsier's Gang Goal: Kill The Lord Ruler and find the Atium (one player in this faction must hold the Atium item.) Rayse's Rioteers: Goal: Kill all of the shards other than Rayse (Cultivation, Honor, Dominion, and Harmony) Idrian Nobility: Goal: Accumulate at least {100} among all members. In addition, your faction has a personal lynch (decide among yourselves who is killed.) If Iadon is still alive by the time you have accumulated at least {100}, this win condition is failed. The Returned: Goal: Recover Nightblood. In addition, each member of this faction must be targeted by the lynch at the end of a cycle (Not killed the first time they are lynched, other kill abilities have no effect) The Wayne Dudes: Goal: One of you has infiltrated each faction, and is posing as one of their members. You have access to their doc. In order to meet this goal, all members of this faction must be alive, and each must hold at least 4 items. I highly appreciate your insight, and hope to understand more about what qualifies a group as an eliminator faction.

Note later posts, in which I agree that votes aren't that effective in generating discussion. There are ways of discussing things that don't require votes. In addition, you'll notice that this thread has 5 pages of discussion before 24 hours have passed, and is noted as a hot topic. First of all, I can't find in the rules where it says, "Rayse and his faction are eliminators. Unless all the eliminators die, everyone else loses." Secondly, none of my goals require me to specifically target Rayse's gang. They're just another faction, people! Thirdly, how are you supposed to find out who Rayse's gang is in this game? Even if you get a good hunch and kill someone, the write-up doesn't reveal that person's role! Here's an interesting thing: Everyone has different goals. You could say that everyone is an eliminator, because there's no common win condition. And yes, some people act differently when their goal is different from normal. For example, I'm not lynching D1 because my win condition isn't to kill another faction. My goal is different from normal, and so is everyone else's. Wha...Huh? From the story at the beginning, it looks like cultivation wants to kill Rayse, and Rayse wants to kill everyone. So what you're saying is that Rayse is an eliminator, Cultivation's gang is village, and everyone else doesn't count? Yep, I guess I'm not truly village because I didn't understand that. Alright, I checked my GM PM. Not one mention of villager, and not one mention of eliminator. Odd, that. Another interesting thing to note is the line marked "alignment", which can be filled in with either independent or a specific faction. Still not one mention of villager or eliminator. I have no reason to vote. But I have no reason not to vote. Do you need proof? Arraenae. In order to prove that I have nothing to lose from voting, that vote will remain until the end of the cycle, unless someone more interesting shows up. Edit: by the way, would you say that this person is an eliminator, or a villager? I'd like to see your unique take on this, arraenae: Shasharra Homeworld: Nalthis Starting World: Nalthis Alignment: Independent Starting Investiture: {25} Goal - Avid Researcher: Successfully use the Collaborate action with two different targets. Successfully use the Interview action with two different targets. Successfully Publish while on Nalthis. Goal - Prove Your Theory: Successfully use the Special Craft Nightblood. Goal - True Love: Talaxin must end the game Alive.

Well, for me, "a lot" means more than the average. Right now, this game has 5 group PMs and 1 or more docs. Most other games have 1-on 1 PMs and at most 1 doc. In this game, the PMs are open from the beginning, which means people effectively have 2-3 threads to post in, as opposed to the 1-2 threads of most other games. So no, I don't know more than those 6, all I knew was that a group PM was open from the beginning and there was more than one faction. But I do hope more people start talking. Right now, I think only 18 out of 33 people have posted in the thread. Currently, the non-posters are: Doc, Iohn, conquestor, stick, silverblade, mint, ecthelion, sheep, bugsy, orlok, dowanx, sart, lopen, dalinar, and luckat

My vote won't create discussion because I said I'm voting to create discussion? Okay... So that means I have even less of a reason to vote? I'm trying to see how your post objects to me not voting. Care to explain?
