Nobody ever let Doctor near a spike again. All in all, though, great game. I wouldn't mind playing a game of this sort again.

Long Game 27: Strife in Ankh Morpork
Paranoid King replied to Young Bard's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Quote: "...under ordinary circumstances, you will receive 3 pennies a cycle." Whaat? Where did this influx of money come from? Considering that a message only costs 1 penny to send, that seems a bit much, don't you think? -

Hi! It looks like you're trying to not get lynched! Would you like me to help with that? Yes: No: -

Thanks for posting, sanity, I can find someone else to lynch now. I really want to lynch A'tuin for the write-up, but I want a bit more discussion first. So... Kiwi. Start talking. -

Well, if we don't get PMs before the day's over, I think sanity deserves to be lynched. -
Long Game 27: Strife in Ankh Morpork
Paranoid King replied to Young Bard's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I have no idea who I am. I awoke in an alley confused. I didn't have to open my eyes to smell that I was in Ankh Morpork. The fact that someone was rummaging through my pockets helped with my deduction, though. I scrambled to my feet, pushing the surprised thief to the side and running out of the alley into the street. I was in the market district, so I looked for a shop with a reflective window to try and make out my features. I finally came to one such shop, a "Bargle's Empurium". The wares inside appeared to be hats, if you squinted and tilted your head just so. When I looked up, I couldn't recognize my own face. Sorting through my pockets, I found nothing. If I'd had identifying papers, the thief had stolen them. Well, nothing for it but to assume the best. I strode up the street towards the patrician's palace. Sneaking around to the side of the building, where Johnson's gardens lay, I peered through into the patrician's study. It was empty. Did that mean the patrician was out? Did that mean I was the patrician? The only reasonable thing to do was investigate. Moving toward the window slowly, I pried it open, brushing aside the powder that had collected on the frame. I carefully crept inside. Could I have been an assassin? I was certainly stealthy enough. Wasn't the patrician an assassin? Might I be the patrician? I decided to just roll with it, moving to the room's only door. The handle wouldn't turn. Actually, on closer inspection, it wasn't a handle, just a lump of metal. The 'door' was just wood fused to the wall. Why would anyone do this? I was getting a headache. Maybe this was just a dream, and I'd wake up at any moment. I turned back toward the window. There was a sign below it. "Unfortunately, you are now a prisoner of the patrician. Have a good stay!" I stared at it for a moment, trying to comprehend the sign. I glanced at my fingers. They were covered in a white powder from the window I had pried open. Oops. My headache became overwhelming, and I blacked out. -

What's the treasury? Can you send anonymous messages through the post office/clacks? How does the vote to depose the patrician work? Do only the heads of the guilds vote, or does everyone in each guild vote? Clacks want to become more popular than the post office, and vice versa. Do they do that by killing everyone on the other team, or is there some other way? To clarify, the actions everyone can do are "Name an Item", "Trade an item", or "give money/item". Is that correct? Is the game end condition that post office/clacks deal? Is the game end "Monarch on the throne/all monarchists dead?" Can clacks members read every message that passes through them? Does everyone start with items? Does everyone start with some money? Are there any Witches? -

Why do the GoH always do this? They're under suspicion, so they reveal themselves. Every single time. It makes me a bit confused, honestly. And it seems a bit too much to be a coincidence. Ecthelion, we're going to kill you, so you might as well tell us. Why are all the GoH revealing themselves? Why? WHY??? What purpose does it serve to make people know that killing you will let them win?

What? What I'm saying is that one more independent can complete their goals. But if two finish their goals before the last GoH is killed, then everyone in the CoA will lose. If you don't complete your goal tonight, you probably won't get another chance to complete it.

Now we just have to make sure that two more Indep's don't complete their goals tonight.

I personally think conversions are more standard than hidden votes, but to each their own, I guess. -

It isn't? You've got pretty standard roles, other than hoid, and don't have to worry about factions. What's so strange about it? -

If you want a look at how a game usually goes, you can try this one. (Actual game starts on page 3.) It's a fairly standard game, and is only 5-6 pages from start to finish. -

Can I get some clarifications on the rules? Does everyone have an individual win con? can you have more that one win con? Are there faction win cons? Will only specifically named roles be played with? For example, there's the luggage in the rules, but no Rincewind. Can you have the luggage without Rincewind? Are there any common actions, such as Pay (amount) to another player? Can you be both a member of a guild and a member of the clacks/post office? Are there any ways to get money other than clacks/post office? (Other than CMOT Dibbler?) Do members of guilds know each other? Do members of the post office/clacks know each other? Will Death be in all of the write-ups? What's the treasury? Is Drumknott in charge of the treasury? For the post office/clacks, do you send the recipient a message yourself (including the GM, of course,) or can you send anonymous messages? Is there any point in changing item names other than messing with people during the auction after your death? Do people know when actions happen to them? If the librarian changed, say, Dibbler's action, would Dibbler know? Do only the Heads of the guilds get a vote to depose the patrician? If not, how does it work? How can the clacks be made more popular than the post office, or vice versa? Is there any way other than killing everyone on the other team? -

So we're finishing this game now? Alrighty then. Ecthelion. I hope Indep's figure out their goals. And I'm 90-95% sure that Wilson isn't a hater, due to her actions, claimed role, and survivability. I'm pretty sure a GoH wouldn't be able to survive two kills unless they were Rayse himself.

According to the list I made earlier, Conq and Orlok are the only really inactive players. Everyone else on the list has posted more since then.

Well, I think this is exactly what Dani hoped for when she revealed. Out of curiosity's sake, how much investiture did it take to attack elantris? And am I correct in guessing that you're Iadon, Dani?

Dani. Dani. I happen to like elantris, and destroying it doesn't seem like something a good character would do.

Any chance a thief on BB's world wants some quick info? And on the subject of giving messages, it turns out that I can actually only do it on Scadrial. Sorry for misinforming people back there.
