  1. I'm very interested if Brandon will explain why the Knighthawk Foundry had such a strong position with all the Epics around. Super-advanced epic-based technology seems like on of the things that the Epics wouldn't want near them, but still the Foundry is all well and safe.
  2. This looks good Far better than the current covers, which are sooo unnatural and look like a product of a kid playing with photoshop.
  3. I'm Polish and I honestly never noticed the similarity between slontze and polish word for sun: słońce. (Cool fact about Polish language and Stormlight Archive: Jasnah name is very similar to polish word: jasna which means... bright So when we read about Brightness Jasnah in polish version, we have: Jasność Jasnah (assuming, that the "h" at the end is silent). Just imagine reading about Brightness Bright ) As for the sparks curse, I think that Kobold King may be right about it originating from Newcago. Everything was made of steel, even the isolation that was used in old electric installations was turned to steel. I think, that it took people some time to figure out how to use electricity in such environment safely. Sparks were obviously involved in this learning process.
  4. This is so cruel... I guess you would end up in a special level of hell for that
  5. Leader: The Doctor - With so many years of experience in surviving, he'll be quite useful. If he'll bring Tardis, then all problems solved Brawler: Goku, like Cheese said, no amouts of zombies can do anything to him. Weapons Expert: Korben Dallas from Fifth Element. He can shoot anything Brains: Bean, from Enders Game/Enders Shadow. With his IQ, there are hardly any better options. Medic: Prof, from Steelheart. His abilities could heal David from Speed Fighter: Starkiller from The Force Unleased. Lightsaber if the best weapon of choice in case of zombie apocalypse. His abilities with the Force, are additional bonus. Mascot: The Lopen - lets have some fun Guy who Dies First: Proffesor Umbridge from Harry Potter
  6. Whow that was great Read it to Let it go playing in the background
  7. Surprisingly it's correct, only missing a space in "być doskonałym" Ynax, your wish is granted. However, now you have donkey ears Edit: I wish for a long holiday with unlimited amount of money and no restrictions on where I can go.
  8. Your wish will be to be an excellent cook. Your bane: Next wish you make has to be written in Polish language I wish for a Smedry Talent!
  9. So... yeah, translations in this book aren't the best, but they don't suck either. Some of the words were translated, some others were not. "Stormlight" is indeed translated as "burzowe światło", but most of the time it is referred to as just "light", so "światło". I think that was a good decision made by the translator, because "burzowe światło" is indeed quite long For the other translation examples: Shardblade = ostrze Odprysku Honorblade = ostrze Honoru soulcaster = dusznik (that's a strange one, but I got used to it pretty fast). soulcasting = dusznikowanie spren = spren As for the different types of spren their names are translated straightforwardly like windspren = wiatrospren shardbearer = odpryskowy (that one is pretty cool) Shattered Plains = Strzaskane Równiny (good luck with saying it out loud to any foreigner ) And there is one translation problem that I just HATE!: Graves, the guy that is Moashes friend got translated to Grób. I really hate it when translators try to translate character names, and in this case it was even worse, because it sounded awfully unnatural in the narration and dialogues :/ Rock's name was translated too, in polish version he is called "Skała". It's not that bad, got used to it fast. If you have any other questions about the polish version, I'd be happy to help As for the cover of WoR I agree that it's bad... Someone that was designing it really didn't bother to read the book
  10. Granted, but it's so big, you cannot swallow it. I wish for trees to be blue.
  11. Granted, but from now on, you won't notice doors. I wish to be able to fly (let's say like Superman)
  12. Here's my wild idea: Odium tricked Radiants so that they shattered Honor somehow. With some tricks a'la Ruins text manipulations he lead them to Honors shardpool or any other physical manifestation (lets say it was somewhere in the Storm Seat or what was the name of the city that became Shattered Plains). Radiants believing that they will destroy Odium, attacked the city. People of this city knew that they were defending Honors "body", and they fought Radiants. Obviously, they had no chance against Surgebinders, and so Honor was somehow shattered by Radiants. This can be the origin of the Shattered Plains. Who knows what happens to the physical world when a Shard is shattered by force? Then, when Radiants (and their spren) found out that they have been tricked, they decide to commit "suicide" out of guilt. Only Skybreakers believe that they did nothing wrong, because all the evidence they had. I know this idea probably has a lot of weak points, but it just couldn't leave my mind
  13. When you can't focus in work, because there is unread Brandons e-book sitting on your desktop...
  14. Greetings to you Let me warn you about the cookies. Do not accept any cookies from anyone. They are not healthy So what is your favourite book?
  15. Elantrians have fabrials all over the city. The whole city is a fabrial I guess Got this from coppermind about AonTia:
  16. I'll watch it without any problem. I'm tired of waiting for WoW, and I'm not even waiting for that long, I read the books 2 year ago or something like that. Martin takes to long to write WoW, and I'm not going to wait for him to finish to have fun in his world.
  17. I think they would give special magic powers to the birds around them But honestly, probably nothing. If those bugs gave powers to humans, some trapper would eventually eat them. If this individual got some super powers other trappers would figure out how he did it, and probably followed. But as we know, no human had any "magic" powers on this world.
  18. Nice theory Can you tell me where did you find this Dragonsteel fragment?
  19. I wish we knew more about the Aons and have bigger list of them (or rather for the current list to be fully described). If I were to choose one Aon to draw I think I'd go with Aon Ene. With giving intelligence and clear mind, this Aon is by far the most flexible and useful Aon to be used in our world. My second pick would be the healing Aon, with the knowledge of all its modifiers, so I would be able to perfectly heal everything.
  20. Almost everything that Wayne or the Lopen say is gold, but this one got stuck in my head for good:
  21. Yeah, after reading descriptions of shardplates I noticed that too. Neither sword nor the armour looks like those from the book. But well, at least it makes people pick it up
  22. So, favourite magic system... I guess AonDor, partly because it was the first system that I've seen and partly because it requires drawing in the air which is cool Sixth of the Dusk was an interesting story, although I wish we knew more about the Ones Above.
  23. I loved both books, but I think WoR were a bit better for me. I think that's maybe because it had a bit more of the Lopen, and the Awesomeness of Lift
  24. Ok, thanks for some explanation. I noticed her mentioning that her powers are much stronger after resurrection, but this teleportation bit looked like different power than just enchanced switching between universes. But well, maybe there is more to her power than I thought.
