  1. Winter, can you clarify the rules related to the acquisition of items up for purchase? One of the members of my house appears to have attempted to purchase an item, lost all of their Atium (when they had more than required to purchase the item), and still ended up with no item. I haven't seen any rule that describes how this could happen.
  2. I don't disagree with that, necessarily, but jumping onto the bandwagon of a poke vote is another matter entirely. Especially when, to my knowledge, no evidence has been presented of suspicious activity.
  3. I'm not sure I follow your logic, Joe. Has Phattemer been acting suspicious in some way? It seems to me like Gamma only voted for him as a poke-vote, and you decided to jump onto the bandwagon because we "need information." If we're just randomly lynching someone because they haven't contributed much other than font art in the first 3 cycles of the game... well, that won't give us any (useful) information at all. We've had a very lucky start by taking out the Eliminators' mistborn, but we've already started losing villagers at a rapid pace since then. And if we start lynching random players who haven't been acting suspicious... well, then we're just blatantly helping the Eliminators.
  4. So, how finished is "Unfinished Secret," then?
  5. I think there should be a Star Trek game in reply to this Star Wars game, just because I'm a Trekkie, not a (whatever Star Wars fans are called). But due to my affinity for Sanderson-esque twists, I couldn't run a game unless I twisted it around in a weird way. Something like creating a game set on Bajor during the Dominion war, where the "villagers" are Pah Wraiths/members of Pah Wraith cult and the "eliminators" are Prophets/followers of the Prophets. Kind of the, "Evil will always triumph because Good is dumb" angle. Or maybe a game where the players are Starfleet officers on a ship(s) and the Eliminators are the Borg trying to assimilate everyone, but there's a special scenario where if certain conditions are met, Q appears, wreaks havoc, and the factions (and roles) are randomly rearranged, or something like that.
  6. I like that change in the rules vis a vis the write-up, Winter. I was imagining a nightmare avalanche of massive write-ups with every player trying to put in some -clev3R C0d3 or something.
  7. Firefly! You know that Shepherd Book is a Rioter. And Inara is clearly a soother. Zoe is a Thug, Jayne is a Tineye (remember that sniper shot he pulled off?). Mal is a world-class smoker, and Simon is a feruchemist who has access to a massive coppermind of medical knowledge. River... well, she's kind of like a Mistborn who's been genetically altered or something to be constantly Nicrosil-boosted. And Wash and Kaylee? Heck, he's just a skaa who's dang good pilot and she's just a skaa who's a brilliant engineer! :-)
  8. One last-minute rule clarification: Will burning Atium allow a Mistborn to survive a poisoning? (That is, if someone bought poison and poisoned the Mistborn, say, during the 3rd cycle, if the Misborn burns Atium during the 4th cycle and the poisoner dies, will the Mistborn die, too, or survive?)
  9. Well, we have a highstorm, an everstorm... seems like you're referring to a Sanderstorm.
  10. I believe Brandon's novellas are generally not released that widely in physical print, usually mostly as e-books. That's the format in which i have Legion and Skin Deep (and every other novella-length Sanderson work). I have seen a pattern where his novellas are sometimes eventually released in a double-book edition with a second novella, though, as will be the case with Perfect State and Shadows for Silence. Perhaps the Legion stories will be released that way at some point.
  11. Lord Vinyerian Dagar was sitting at a rather unremarkable table with rather unremarkable companions when Lord Venture made his announcement. So, House Venture completes its ascent to Great House status, he thought. If anyone can find a way to hitch his house's canal boat to the Venture caravan, it's me. Yes, I'll shed the company of these pedestrian half-noble rustmongers and work my way into a position of real power. This Atium is the key to everything. "My noble friends, please excuse me," Lord Dagar said amiably to his companions. "I'm afraid I have been called away to deal with family business." Vinyerian Dagar is joining the fray.
  12. Yep. Just like a lake preparing for a thunderstorm.
  13. In theory, I'm generally in favor of the pruning of inactives. In practice, though, I'm going to be rather sparsely involved myself over the next couple of cycles due to a medical situation (my wife having surgery), so I might not post in the main thread, but I'll still be talking as I can to the PM groups of which I'm a part. So I'd appreciate people not killing me if I don't post over a cycle or two.
  14. It's so simple! All I have to do is divine from what I know of you: are you the sort of man who would make the clue extremely obvious or make it so obscure that it would be a riddle wrapped in an enigma? Now, a clever man would be referring to a non-Cosmere character, because he would know that only a great fool would guess a character from the Cosmere in a clue about colorless poison. I am not a great fool, so I can clearly not choose a character from the Cosmere. But you must have known I was not a great fool; you would have counted on it! So I can clearly not choose a character from the non-Cosmere books.
  15. Colorless and Odorless? Hmm, let's see... Vivenna Siri Vivenna and Siri's father (I forget his name) Denth Vasher Nightblood Tonk Fah
  16. For some reason this is the first thing I thought of when I read that:
  17. I see those coins on the counter just ready to be shot! Nicely done.
