  1. Ah, good point. I'll fix that.
  2. I think if we want to get political, we should do so in a more appropriate forum.
  3. Contains Stormlight Spoilers
  4. I'm in the process of rereading WoR right now, and having just recently read the part where Shallan encounters the "female" parshman, I can tell you that she sees what appears to be a slight hint of breasts, but admits to herself that it's so hard to tell. So while there may not have been any other specific mentions of female parshmen, I think it's likely that people just can't tell the difference without close examination, and so they don't get mentioned.
  5. Ah, alright, thanks guys.
  6. Not to get the thread off topic, but I just want to get a quick clarification. Often lately I've seen people refer to an Order or a spren as being "more of Cultivation/Honor," but as far as I was aware, there wasn't any WoB confirmation on whether or not Cultivation actually had anything to do with the orders and spren. I thought it was just a fan theory, but that of course doesn't mean I couldn't have missed something. Could someone clarify whether it's been confirmed, or if we're just accepting that theory as correct for now?
  7. I thought this was why Rock could see spren at first as well, but doesn't Rock mention that not all Horneaters can see spren the way he does? Also, didn't he also tell a story about essentially sticking his head in Roshar's Shardpool? I seem to remember someone coming to the conclusion that that's why he could see spren.
  8. This mention was when Rlain returned to Dalinar's army. Here is the quote:
  9. Well the Parshendi are on the Shattered Plains. While I feel that it's likely that children are there, everything we see in Narak has to do with the war against the Alethi. Children aren't going to be of much use in furthering the plot here, and so they're not mentioned. They might be good for worldbuilding, but because we only see Narak in the interludes, there's not a lot of space in which to put trivial matters.
  10. How would this hypothetical Alethi lord have sent people to Urithiru right after the fall of the Radiants? You need a Surgebinder to get there, and besides, the city was already out of use when the Recreance happened.
  11. I don't know about the originally published versions, but all of the new versions since book one have had that map.
  12. Reminds me of this:
  13. It's true, the Parshendi did ask where the parshmen's music was. However, it is clearly stated from Eshonai's POV that slaveform — a known form to the Parshendi — is the same thing as the parshmen. So it is a known form to the Listeners, but is considered a lack of any form, rather than a specialization like the other forms.
  14. Might have to change my member title to Parshbaby. For some reason that strikes me as really funny.
  15. Well, he might be a Mistborn. So I suppose that would apply.
  16. Whoa whoa whoa. Whaaaaaa?
  17. I like this idea, but at the same time, it seems weird to think of all Listener children to be constantly in the form that encourages sexual urges until their form of puberty, at which point they can choose anything else. Whereas in humans, it's the opposite, and you will only get those urges after puberty starts.
  18. I don't know. From what I recall, doesn't the new carriage driver say something along the lines of, "he went off giggling like a child"? I think Hoid has far too high an opinion of himself to describe himself that way.
  19. Reading through this chapter a bit more, I noticed that this is also the chapter where Wit tells Dalinar that he is leaving, that, "The cosmere, unfortunately, takes precedence over free food." We know that members of the 17th Shard are chasing Hoid. What if this ardent is a Worldhopper, part of the 17th Shard, and Wit is leaving because he knows that they have caught up to him and are close to finding him?
  20. Well I've also wondered why nobody made permanent homes on Urithiru. Was it not possible to grow food there? If not, then I could understand it, but if food could be grown there, then why wouldn't people make it a permanent home? And if they had, then even if the Oathgates stopped being used I would imagine people would have continued to live there.
  21. Here's another thing to consider: Jasnah has said that she believes that Urithiru fell out of use even before the Recreance. For such an incredible and safe (from highstorms) city, why would they simply abandon it while they still had the capacity to travel there? Could it have had something to do with whoever they were fighting before the Recreance happened?
  22. Honestly I loved that about Lift. I like to know the inner workings of the plot and all that good stuff too, but man Lift was funny.
  23. Ah, and so the Librarian conspiracy grows deeper. Diabolical.
  24. Well that's true to an extent. But if the Librarians took Bastille's namesake and named a prison after it, where's the prison?
