ah, yea. I think I remember that.

which scene?

definitely not in the reals. maybe complex? I don't really know what values sin and cos can take with complex arguments. but yea for real x, sin and cos both max out at 1 so if you replace both of them with that then you get 50 -(2*(1)*(3+2(1))=50-(2*5)=40-10 which is obviously not 0. and of course cos(x) and sin(x) can't both be 1 at the same time, but ultimately that doesn't matter.

You should be safe to read Mistborn Era 2 before Stormlight Archive. there is almost no obvious connection between the two, the only thing I can think of offhand are the epigrams in the Stormlight Archive chapters, which include letters to/from Sazed, but those aren't very spoilery, and any spoilers would go the other direction. for Secret History, I don't want to go into too much detail, but it won't ruin your read of BoM. I'd still recommend reading BoM first, but I honestly think its only a minor thing. I think the main cross-series spoiler that i would want to avoid would be between warbreaker and stormlight archive, but it sounds like it is too late for that

Mechanics of Copper and possible interference with Surges
Dunkum replied to The Technovore's question in Cosmere Q&A
oooh, I hadn't thought of that, but probably. maybe not fully, but it would likely weaken it some, which I'd guess ould weaken the squire's abilities -
Mechanics of Copper and possible interference with Surges
Dunkum replied to The Technovore's question in Cosmere Q&A
I don't know of any, but i'm inclined to agree with you on it. I suspect the following things: 1. someone burning copper would be harder to affect with surges and 2. copper will interfere any use of a surge (or other investiture) that crosses he boundary of the copper cloud. for a low investiture use, like an illusion, it might prevent or dispel it altogether, for more powerful uses, it will just make them harder -
I just saw that. a lot more optimistic about it than I ever was about the Netflix stuff. I knida hope they d more stuff like Korra. I don't mind if some of it focus on the gaang, but i'd also like more stories from different eras too.

same. i don't have a switch, but BotW was so good that i'd buy one just for BotW2

those 2 were both re-released for the 3ds, though OoT 3d is apparently older than Skyward Sword by a few months. wouldn't surprise me if they remake those for the switch later, though, or maybe the rumored Switch Pro. I've said before, and i'll say again - if they're gonna remake things, i'd start with the NES games, specifically Zelda 2. i feel like that one has a lot of potential for conversion to full 3d.

Found out today that Minish Cap is available on the Wii U virtual Console, so started on that this afternoon. got through the first temple before dinner.

th shards don't create the systems, but the system is at least part determined by the shard. Honor likely didn't create the adhesion surge, but that surge might only be available because it is Honor's investiture in the system - that is it might be a naturlly occuring surge that results from Honor specifically investing in Roshar.

solid choices. I liked a few of the short stories better than several of the full length books.

it seem reasonable, but i'm flipping back an forth on the two card case whether the fact that for the second card the size of the remaining hand is smaller matters/ eg for the 1 card case it is 12 cards each for opponents and partner. but in t 2 card case, once you've got1 card its now 12 cards each for opponents vs 11 remaining cards in the partners hand, and I don't now if that affects anything or not.

huh, never heard of i, but it reminds me of a am my friend likes called "Hearts of Iron" where you play through WWII as pretty much any country. including ones that weren't really involved. He did a game as Mexico once where his goal was to take back the mexican territories from the USA while they were busy fighting in Europe.

that's true. best item in the game, an very very strong contender for best item in any zelda game.

high praise indeed

He doesn't exactly have a lot of competition. I guess there is Mavra, the Black Court Vampire that has shown up a few times. but, as has been mentioned before, most Dresden Villains don't last very long. and amon those that do many end up as occasional allies, like Lara Raith or Mab - neither of whom is precisely a pure villain

vessels Question concerning splinters and the 16 vessels:
Dunkum replied to Levin's question in Cosmere Q&A
also, that wouldn't necessarily have worked. as an example, splitting Honor into 16 smaller pieces would probably not give you 16 mini-Honors. instead youd have sub-shards for i dunno maybe law, fairness, oathkeeping, etc. basically each of the mini shards would probably have its own separate intent representing a component of the larger intent. then mixing and matching them to get back to 16 would just be equivalent to shattering Adonalsium a different way from the get go. -
What are you playing right now?

Finally finished Xenoblade Chronicles which i started back in...checks notes...June. so it took me about 6 months to get through. not 100% because by the end there didnt feel like grinding out fights to finish off skill trees and build relationship levels of characters that I had never teamed up. Shulk, Fiora, and Sharla were pretty high ranked with everyone, but building the other relationships would just have taken too long. -
I mean, it definitely builds on itself, but it does so in a very repetitive way. if you've gotten that far, and aren't satisfied with it, then i'd say just drop at at that point.

Heinlein has got some Opinions and he makes certain anyone who read his books understands that. but Starship Troopers is a fun read, as I recall, and doesn't go too, too heavy into politics or into his whole....thing.....on sex.
