  1. "I gazed into the Abyss, and all I got was this lousy t-shirt!"

    Yea...New shirt!

  2. I see the post-election grouses are clucking about. Back to the shadows!

  3. Just came back from Minnesota late last night (yes, I know that sentence is a contradiction, so sue me!). I had been there for Fantasy Flight Games' Arkham Nights and not only had fun, I got to pick up a copy of the Arkham Horror LCG (Living Card Game, for those of you that forget you are on the internet and can Google this stuff).
  4. Babies are terrible. They're not as smart as my cat, they aren't little people: they're developing people, they don't like it when I read Heidegger to them...just awful!
  5. Specifically the following: You know, the idea that a politician ought to act the same in private as he would in public.
  6. I'll still say "You should". Gender does not factor into it, it's just whoever is able to overcome the social awkwardness long enough to make the first move. Since you won't know that, it's better to take fate into your own hands. A simple "out to dinner/coffee" should be sufficient to show heightened interest.
  7. The answer: an unhelpful "you should."
  8. Those new anti smoking commercials. They are usually so annoying... Except for the one with cats
  9. This past year: Dollar Days and I Can't Give Everything by David Bowie Some more "traditional ones": Rainbow Eyes - Rainbow Redshift - Keldian Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd Disappear - Dream Theater 1916 - Mötorhead Can You Feel It? - Chaos Chaos And that'll do for now.
  10. I did. Looks like it had some effect!
  11. @Mestiv could probably give us a few examples.
  12. Ha! That's pretty clever!
  13. Maybe because of the following cartoon?
  14. We, the American people, are working on it!
  15. You're dodging the question! Besides, shouldn't we bite them before they bite us?
  16. The idea that all we need to solve the world's various problems is "love." That's like telling a depressed person all he needs to do is be happy, or that an anxious person need only calm down. It shows an ignorance of the issues at hand and is empty of any utilitarian value. In fact, it serves only to give the utterer a false sense of profound insight. "Why, look at that," they pedantically muse, "I have resolved dilemmas that greater minds with greater drive have failed at!" Also, the trope of the child confounding the learned/wise.
  17. This is very true. I've heard people criticize NPR for being leftist propaganda.
  18. Is your sister even old enough to vote? If not, her opinion does not matter, as teens tend to base their beliefs on their parent's and do not ever affect the outcome of an election. Now, if she is old enough...
  19. If we weren't complicated, we'd be boring! Best thing in your position, I think, is to save the "I'm not interested in/allowed to date boys right now" for any time he asks you out. Flirting wise? If he says something that makes you uncomfortable, let him know. If he's going to try and flirt with you, you might as well train him so he does so in a most befitting manner!
  20. Wax paper is key to making great tortillas.
  21. Oh, so because someone is "gay" they're going to want to kiss guys? Check your privilege!
  22. Marysville We have a plurality of Marys in Ohio
