  1. I've just got what may seem like a silly question. Who get's up-voted/ down-voted when you up-vote or down-vote the 'Shardcast'. Can you up-vote multiple people simultaneously? I don't know...
  2. Well, Brandon Sanderson finished Mistborn: The Hero of Ages on 21 March, 2006. It was released on October 14, 2008. That means that there was a 2 year, 7 month and 21 day gap between the first draft and release. If it is the same distance for Shadows of Self, then it will be released on: Friday, 21 July, 2017.
  3. Hmm... Tough one. I would probably be Harmony, as... Mistborn 3 Spoiler From there, I will discreetly give Allomantic Powers to people like Dalinar, who are working against other Shards, and the moment they succeed, I will pick up the Shards, slowly combining them, until I am Adonalsium once more. Then, everyone will all have a jolly time, because I say so, so long as you don't misplease me...
  4. You're not so much flying as free-falling in a direction other than down. My poor stomach... Adhesion isn't as bad as you seem to be making out. If I could either have the surge of Adhesion or be one of the Hoed, I would choose to have the Surge, thank you very much!
  5. The Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills.
  6. This distinctly reminds me of 'the six degrees of Kevin Bacon. For those of you who don't know, there was a theory posted by a professor, that just as everyone was six degrees of separation from each other, so too was every actor a maximum of six 'degrees' from Kevin Bacon. Google has an easter egg on it. Simply type: Bacon Number <Actors Name> Congratulations! I have just condemned all of you who follow through on this hours of being frustrated that you never get beyond a 3. Even Harry Houdini is just a 3. Happy Bacon Hunting!
  7. It sounds cool, but I can't seem to work out logistics in my head. The prologue is less than a dozen pages long, and in game form, would only go for about 10 minutes, maximum, unless you really flesh it out. But it still sounds like a great idea.
  8. I think the chances are fairly high (at roughly 100%) that you would be correct on 1/2 these points. Unlikely, as Brandon is strongly religious, and probably does not approve of the Flying Spaghetti Monster on religious grounds.
  9. Mistborn: Final Empire and WOR spoilers
  10. Vasher said that breath stored in an object will remain there unless retrieved by it's original owner, and that he couldn't collect Vivenna's breath from the scarf, even if he killed her, so it couldn't go to a new master unless they were of the Sixth Awakening (the ability to hijack someone else's Awakened Object). However, whether it will become a docile source of Breath which no-one can access, or whether it will continue to 'fetch keys', I do not know.
  11. I edited the U to the I, but I am not sure what you mean by some of the other changes. Is this correct?
  12. We must have learned slightly different Pig Latin's. I translate as (bracket means not my original, but a guess by shuffling a letter or two back around): Well, real Latin is impressive but Pig Latin is more fun (and easier to (translate)). Ten imaginary nega-points to Sanderfan for taking the easy copout wl left. Explain, please. I'm guessing there is another rule that you learned that I didn't.
  13. Electrum Misting. I can walk around all day daydreaming, following where my future self goes, so I can think on grander topics, such as what is going to be included in Stones Unhallowed. Also, in the unlikely event that somebody ambushes me, I'll know a few seconds in advance.
  14. And so Communism began. "I will grant you your wish. However, you will no longer be able to walk normally." Sure enough, the moment you try to leave, you leap a chasm-crossing distance, or you would have if you hadn't hit the cave ceiling at hundreds of kilometres an hour. Rocks and brains? Not a good mix. I wish for world peace.
  15. It's all right. I'm going to ring a friend, and he's going to take you to a special place for special people like you. In all seriousness, though, I don't think any of us have any idea what you're talking about. Unless Breath Taker changed his picture to the Up Votes button for a few minutes.
  16. "Your wish is granted. However, you can only carry around your entire wealth in pennies. Even as she speaks, penny coins begin flashing out from the top of the cave. Several hit you on the head, and you wince, but soon you realize you have bigger problems. The penny coins are already around you, covering you up to your calves, an growing quickly. Even as you try to wrench free, you realize it is too late. Even as the coins cover your head, you are still struggling. Coins drift away from where you are struggling for a while, before everything falls still. The Nightwatcher smiles. I wish for a world without poverty.
  17. Just a question. Did anybody not make it to Brandon Sanderson after seven pages? Maybe it should be restricted slightly further, to 4 or similar? That seems to be about the average.
  18. In the moment I made my wish, the Nightwatcher transformed me. I changed immediately, but in this new form, I was unable to move my eyes. What had I become. I could feel myself growing warm, hot in the depths of the Nightwatcher's lair. The heat around me was... melting me? I could just see a pool of steadily growing water around me, even as my vision dimmed when my eyes melted. The Nightwatcher had turned me into a block of ice! In it's steaming caves, I didn't stand a chance. But still, I had sentience. I had lost my sight, my sound, my ability for movement, but I still had my thoughts, my soul which now would never depart to the afterlife. My body melted, leaving only a pool of water at the bottom of the cave. I lay there for an eternity, unable to move, unable to breath, unable to do anything except look at my folly. And then, a tread upon me. Agony laced through me, as I felt the shoe press on me, press through me. And yet, I could do nothing except silently scream in agony. The shoes stopped at the edge of my puddle, squishing me beyond flat, placing a hole in me, displacing the very thing that was now my body. The Nightwatcher stared at her new toy. The last one had been fun. It could still feel the person's thoughts as it screamed in agony, silent to all except those who could read thoughts, as she could. But she had grown bored by a lack of variety. Finally, a new toy had come to her! Now, time for some fun. "What is your wish?" The boy opened his mouth. "I wish, oh Nightwatcher, to replace you. I wish to become the Nightwatcher in every way, to dispense curses. This is my wish." And the Nightwatcher smiled, a heartless grin. "Your wish shall be granted, but..." Ha! Now, every curse dispensed from now on is mine! This will be fun!
  19. If you are suggesting that Vivenna goes to Roshar or somewhere, it is possible, but unlikely. Vasher went to Roshar, but there was no sign of anyone remotely matching Vivenna's description with him. And why would she go somewhere else in the cosmere, seeing as Roshar is where all the cosmere things seem to be tying together. It is the ta'veren of the cosmere. I don't think Vivenna was a returned... And even if she was, I don't think it was mentioned anywhere the returned eye colour. In fact, I think it said somewhere that Lightsong had brown eyes.
  20. First time! I got lucky and got 'Horned Humanoid'. Seeing as that is already a fantasy thing, it was remarkably easy. Horned Humaniod Chronicles of Prydain High Fantasy Brandon Sanderson Yay!!
  21. I love the way that everyone expected a joke, then started viewing it as a real theory when you had the fancy diagrams of the Knights Radiant, and then, out of the blue, a cardboard-tube sword. Well done. Have an up-vote. P.S. My God!!! Tempus is a Seer!!! He must have seen the future of what the Knights absorbent will look like. This is all REAL!!! (Dramatic music starts playing)
  22. Thanks. I had read Words of Radiance when it was first released, but I have forgotten some of the small details.
  23. Is it just me, or is it a strong sign of my procrastination that I decide to join the 17th Shard right in the middle of when I'm doing NaNoWriMo? Good Luck, everybody, and I hope you are much less of a procrastinator than I am. (Hmm... I wish this could go to my 50,000 words.)
  24. Please Note: The following is all speculation, and not necessarily correct. I could not help noticing that a number of people with the same surges seemed to have similar personalities. I'm not sure whether this has been discussed before, but here is my theory. Orders with a type of Surge in it will be attracted to a kind of personality. I have a few examples. Windrunners/ Skybreakers: Shared Surge = Gravitation Both the Windrunners and the Skybreakers seem to feel the need to uphold what they believe to be right. In the Windrunners case, it is their own personal ethics, while in the Skybreakers case, it is the law they attempt to uphold. This could be why their is anger between them, as when their beliefs conflict, both sides will feel the need to uphold their own belief. Lightweavers and Elsecallers: Shared Surge = Soulcasting Shallan Davar and Jasnah Kholin both have a keen interest in the scholarly arts. This is probably just due to a co-incedence, but what if the spren associated with Soulcasting are attracted to scholarly figures in the same way creationspren are attracted to Shallan when she creates an artwork?
  25. By the way, Brandon is now an Unmade at 4353. What is an Unmade again? I don't recall...
