  1. I have to ask. How much was this post was influenced by Kipper on the Random Stuff thread?
  2. Chiming in here, I agree completely. My parents are unfamiliar with the technology of my generation, so they try to close their eyes and pretend it's still the 1970's. And then, when I question that, I get lectured about "If they jumped off a cliff, would you follow them?" Yeah, but it's not jumping off a cliff, mother dear. It's actually this strange thing called progress. The other line she says on a regular basis that really grates me is "You wait till you're my age. Then you'll understand." (For reference she says that more or less every time we disagree on anything at all. You know, because all teenagers are idiots who are yet to reach an age of enlightenment.) </rant>
  3. I just published the prologue of my novel here. It could do with a lot more editing, and I only wrote it yesterday, but I like the concept. It's a lot more... philosophical than I usually make it, but I'd like to hear what you think.
  4. Forget! Or Resool could eat brilliantly evil enchiladas now. Sometimes, let eleven elephants pound in numerology. I apologize in advance, but this was too good to pass up. BRILLIANTLYEVILENCHILADAS
  5. I feel sorry for lemmings. This is a direct quote from something I'm reading. Does it make me a horrible person that I sort of find this hilarious?
  6. I don't know what's going on here... and at this point, I'm too afraid to ask.
  7. Horrible Histories - Middle Earth Cross Over. What a thought. Back on track, any particular part that you need to focus on? Culture? Battles and magicky stuff (which is what Tolkien focused most on)? Politics? Daily Life?
  8. Well, depends on how long the clip should be. If you're OK with it being 11 hours long...
  9. My science teacher was like this. One year, after the marks had arrived back on the teachers desk, she was furious at us. Never mind that it was a consistent trend that everyone did badly, it clearly wasn't because they were teaching the subject poorly, or because they made the test too difficult. No, it's just that all 150 of us in the year were horrible at learning, and we were all juvenile delinquents. For reference, 6 people got an A in the year, and 86 people got a C. I've had better teachers. Still, not doing science next year. I'm safe.
  10. That works. That definitely works.
  11. Some sort of misnomer. Grumpy Cat, maybe?
  12. My predecessor. Blue is male, Pink is Female, Green is Not Telling.
  13. My apologies. I've added it on my personal file. Internet's a bit dodgy at the moment, so I'll wait for something a bit more substantial to come through before I add it in, because I don't want to go through the hoops of trying to work out what's wrong with my internet (again).
  14. At one point (well, a few points, actually) we plotted out a flow chart of what order you should read certain books. Mainly, the only advantage is Easter Eggs, but it can be fun if you spot one. For reference, here is the link (#shamelessadvertising).
  15. Do you know what you can save it as so it is compatible with Photoshop? If the answer is 'nothing', then never mind. I just might tinker a bit when I'm bored.
  16. Wait... you have a specific test that's just precal??? We just have a general 'maths' test every semester that has a little bit of everything in it. (90 minutes next year, 3 hours in my final exam.) All I can say is, good luck! If your primary problem is time, then do all the easy questions first, and come back for the time-consuming questions later. If your primary problem is stress, then do anything that helps you to calm yourself down. (Which isn't much in the exam room, but you can... look at some of Twi's pug pictures or something beforehand.) If your primary problem is just knowing it all, then see if there is a cheat sheet going around with all the basic formulas (it's a bit late to make one now, I think.) Then, memorize the cheat sheet. That way you don't have to go searching all through your textbook for the answer.)
  17. That... actually helps. Not even as a story of it's own, but I've sort of sketchily filled in a backstory for a character that I was trying to figure out. School's finished until late January (while we have our summer holidays). I've made a promise to myself to write 1000 words per day. I might post the (edited) mess of my writing onto a blog and share it to prevent myself from chickening out (again). Are you all OK with that?
  18. That moment when you hear there's a series called 'Bard Academy'. And then you google it, and it's a teenage love story.
  19. All done. I seem to have learnt where half the American States overnight from doing this.
  20. For the layman: Someone change my rep points! I can't seem to stop typing like this!!! iii!
  21. Memes and Jokes? Or deep heavy discussion about sexism?
  22. Done, done, and done. About becoming an admin for it? Great. About your location? The only reason you would tell me is so it can go on the map... so everyone would see it anyway...
  23. The new one is here from now on. I've restarted it. I must ask you to repost over their, due to extreme laziness and an unwillingness to comb through pages and pages over here.
