  1. Is there another game that I should check out that's similar to mine in gameplay/execution? I'm trying to work out how things would work. Clan 6 is very overpowered, so I'm toning that down, but I'd like to hear from any of you for ideas. Winter, I can honestly say that that looks extremely interesting. The only problem is if you get, say, under 30 players, you could have too many Shards compared to non-Shards, which means that each alignment will have only 1 or 2 players.
  2. Adonalsium Also, Hael, how did you get from Typos to Shards, if you don't mind me asking?
  3. Thanks. I've updated the list. And, I'm secretly hoping that he's got something from Vax that he's keeping close to his chest. He's namedropped it twice already, and this would be a good opportunity for an intro.
  4. Romcoms. Fullstop.
  5. OK. I was sort of developing this as I was doing LG21. I'll probably edit it as I grow more experienced as an SE player as I find out what works and what doesn't. I'd like to see what you all think! (Sorry if it's a bit confusing to read. I just moved everything from my head straight to the computer screen. I'll tidy it up later.) I know that's a lot to take in, but could it work? The only flaw I can see is that 4 clans could just ally with one another and wipe the other ones out, but I'm trying to work in a discouragement to that to make things more interesting. I might come back to GM this one day, but if I were to start off GM'ing, I'd like to start with a QF, not something as intensive as this.
  6. Just to clarify, that's a yes?
  7. Ughhh... When I think about the scientific principles of time bubbles, it always gives me a headache. I know just enough about it to know that everything goes wonky the moment time bubbles appear on the scene.
  8. I think... one of my friends just signed up to the Shard... If it's who I think it is, then they've only read Stormlight so far, but now I have legions of fans on my side to let him see the true glory of Mistborn, Warbreaker, and all of Sanderson's works.
  9. Energy = Madness x Craziness2
  10. Hello to you too, Tera. I finally know someone else on this forum! (At least, if this is who I think it is. This could be rather embarrassing otherwise.) Now, you can listen to the legions of fans that know the true awesomeness of all Brandon's series, not just the Stormlight Archive. And you shall know true greatness. And, Stormlight is great. But Mistborn is better. EDIT: What happened to your collage of words?
  11. I hope you don't mind what I've written. If you have a problem with it, let me know and I'll fix it. Ruon stared from the doorway of the building, watching the world go by. On his side of town, there wasn't much going on, just the same old routine. Across the road, the blacksmith was mouthing off at his apprentice again, making a furious wall of noise loud enough to wake the dead. The town guard strode in, strutting about like some sort of preened turkey, ordering that his helmet be repaired. The silly oaf probably dropped it when he saw his own reflection. Ruon smiled for a moment, then returned to his self-wallowing pity. It was the other side of town where everyone of any kind of importance lived. Unsurprisingly, the peddlers set up any wares there, knowing full well which side of town had all the money. Any gleemans passing through performed there, and any visitors stayed there. If Ruon craned his head, he could just make it out. The Village Inn, where people stayed when they came to this town overnight, before moving about to see some other town. There seemed to be a lot of people at the inn at that time, but Ruon just sighed. He had no doubt that they, like all the others, would just leave, move on, and be at a new town by supper the next day, eat at another inn, and leave again, to see even more of the world. Meanwhile, Ruon would be left here, living next to a blacksmith that thought that 'quiet' was something you fed your pigs, and a town guard that thought he was in the best of company when sitting alone in his own home. A voice called from inside the house, but Ruon ignored it, watching the world go by. Surely, it wouldn't be, it couldn't be, so far away from a time when he could just grab his bag and cloak, walk out of the house, and never return. Never again see this street, with it's same perpetual people going about in their dreary lives, too complacent to ever get up to anything interesting. Ruon wanted to see the world, to witness the stories that he'd only heard about, stories of heroes and villains, where Darkfriends wander the streets. Ruon wanted to find a Channeller, to see their power as they weaved the world, changing it to their whim. Ruon wanted to see everything, everything interesting, everything this town wasn't. But, nothing like that could ever possibly happen in Drell's Crossing. Hearing the call from within again, Ruon reluctantly made his way inside, closing the door behind him with a click.
  12. If you want I can change my character (I'm not that attached - I basically thought him up as I typed.) Ruon, a child of 15, who longs to get away from the town and see the world, accompanied only by a harp, a flute, a rucksack, and the thick patched cloak of a gleeman around his shoulders.
  13. Just to clarify, the contents in Arcanum Unbounded: Intro and Conclusion from Khriss, as well as an intro to each of the planets. Lift Short Story (Roshar) The Eleventh Metal (Scadrial) Mistborn: Secret History (Scadrial) Allomancer Jak and the Pits of Eltania? (Scadrial) Sixth of the Dusk (First of the Sun) The Hope of Elantris (Sel) The Emperor's Soul (Sel) Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell (Threnody) Maybe something from Nalthis??? While I've read most of them, I'll probably still get it, because I read most of these through the library, and it would be great to actually own them.
  14. To be fair, I think that's taking it a bit far. While I think the cliffhanger is just a cheap attempt to draw in viewers to the comics, I don't think that Marvel is in anyway trying to mock or make light of the issue, or invalidate those that died.
  15. Fixed. While you're here, it might be a good idea to mention this. Conversations have been shortened to the relevant sections: I never got a response. I later PM'd FirstRainbowRose about it, but she never responded. The thing is, I need a G-Mail account of some variety (even if someone were to create one just for this) to add someone to the mod list. If you or one of the other Admins want to do something about this, could you please PM me? EDIT: It seems I've found a way to scare off the admins. I just need to ask them for clarifications.
  16. Alright, I've added you to the PM. Twi and Honor, if you change your mind and want to take part, post here and I'll add you as well.
  17. Ah... What the hell. Schoolwork is overrated anyway, and this looks fun. Signing up as Ruon the Gleeman, travelling the world in search for a good story.
  18. Like anything, it could go well or it could go horribly, horribly wrong.
  19. I suppose it all depends on your individual tastes. Some people are more into the whole romance side of things than others. Personally, I find it fine where it is. If anything, I could have coped with slightly less in Warbreaker. It's been a while since I read it, so forgive me if I get something wrong, but I seem to recall a gradual shift from fear of one another, to curiosity, into a steady relationship. Particularly through the transition of Siri being the ignorant one at the beginning, being thrust into a position of maturity, to her eventual realization that Susebron is even more naive and inexperienced than she is, which was quite a powerful moment. I guess it's just a matter of taste, I suppose.
  20. Just to clarify: Did Amazon actually get it right with "Arcanum Unbounded"? Because I thought there was no 'ed' at the end there. If the answer is 'Nobody Knows', that's fine, I'd just like to know.
