Kherstor Suteruduen stepped off the train. It was already getting late by the time the train had finally pulled into the station, and the sun was only a few hours away from setting- but clearly it had been worth the wait. Callingfale spread out in front of him, a rustic city in the middle of nowhere. With the Tyrian sea on one side, an ocean of desert on the other- the railway separated the two like a faultline, and dry wooden buildings littered the landscape around the station for miles. If you squinted at the horizon, you could even make out the silhouettes of mountains in the distance. It felt good to see the roughs again. Kherstor had grown up at Drypost, the boarder of the basin- and had always longed to go out further into the badlands ever since he was in his teens. Kherstor picked up his bags, holstered his pistol- and put on his wide brimmed hat. There was always work for a bounty hunter, here in the badlands- especially for a professional like himself. It was his prey that had drawn him out to the Roughs in the first place, another ragtag scumbag misting gang- notorious for using their powers to commit devious crimes. Kherstors specialty. Only this time he wouldn't be doing it alone, a respectable lawkeeper called Finner was also hunting after the same group- and over a few drinks they decided that it would make more sense to hunt together than separately. Finner was also a twinborn, like Kherstor- but specializing in tracking and not fighting, unlike Kherstor who fought Allomancers for a living. Turning off the street into an alley, to beeline straight for the Sherriffs Office where he would meet up with Finner- Kherstor walked nonchalantly into the shade of the neighboring buildings to shorten his journey by a few minutes. He had only just turned the corner when a shady man with a cap pulled over his eyes and a missing tooth stepped out in front of him, barricading the path, and raised a filthy knife to Kherstors chin. "Nice bags you got there, stranger-" Kherstor tapped zinc without a thought. He had had plenty of time to fill the zinc hidden in his teeth and shoes on the train- and now his thoughts seemed to rush through and around him like the speeding train. By the way the man held himself, he could deduce he was Pewterarm. The shoulders, the posture- Kherstor had seen enough rogues spoilt with power to know the signs. Clearly, this one had realized that it was easier to rob people with his divine powers than apply them usefully- any pewterarm would be welcome in any laboring work, yet this man had the arrogance to waste his skills. Disgusted, Kherstor burned chromium; pulled out his long, slender revolver- and promptly shot the thug in the foot. When a thug burned pewter, it usually made them oblivious to pain- so the brute only smiled smugly at the gesture. As the chromium took hold though, his face constricted in horror as his pewter reserves all dissipated instantly. Unused to the intense pain, the cutthroat fell to the dirty floor- writhing in pain. Kherstor let go of zinc and chromium. The entire transaction couldn't have lasted more than three seconds. Kherstor walked on, leaving the thug in the alley- it wasn't worth his time arresting a small fry cutthroat. As he left the alley and the groans behind him, Kherstor couldn't help but smile. It felt good to see the roughs again.

Should I wait for Lady Eowyn to appear before putting up a post? :B

When do we start? :V

The bands are rumored to allow their user to use the lord rulers powers, right? Does storing identity allow the user to access other feruchemists metalminds? :B In other words, if the bands were Alluminum, and someone stored their identity in them- would the "can't use other feruchemists storage" rule still apply? (because the magic system won't be able to tell if you're the same person or not, or something?) Just a thought :V

If this discussion extends to beyond just vacations, then I've got some cool stories to share... :3 My Father is a Diplomat for the English Embassy (Which basically means he approves visas :/), but that also means his job requires him and his family to live in the country he works in (which is called a posting). A posting can go to anywhere in the world, but you don't get to choose where (Well, you get given a list of open positions, and try and apply to them, but its very limited). So, I've lived in a lot of places. I was born in England, specifically Bristol; but I was raised in Nairobi, in Africa- although I can't remember much of it. I was there for 3 years, before moving to Ireland- where I stayed for another another 2 years. After that, I moved back to England (Bristol again) and stayed there for 3 years. Then my dad got a posting to India, so we moved to New Delhi., and after another 3 years- we moved back to England (This time, in Surrey). Four years later, my dad took another posting- this time to Beijing with just my younger sister and mum, leaving me and my younger brother in England in a boarding school. Its been about a year since then, but every school holiday- either we go to them or we go to them. This posting has about 1 and a half years to go, and then we'll all be back in England again. The cool thing about being a Diplomat, is that flights are played for you (assuming you take the cheapest option :/) so we've done a lot of traveling over the years. I've been to the Taj Mahal, up Big ben, seen the Harmandir Sahib, trekked paddy fields, been to a ridiculous amount of theme parks, walked to two Olympic stadiums (England & China), visited the WW2 memorials- traveled to New Zealand, Australia, Florida, Goa, Vietnam, California, France, The lake district, and a whole bunch of other places which names I can't quite recall right now :B Sorry about being brief, its late where I am and I'm too tired to write any more =-=

How about, since Compounders are incredibly OP- we organize a weakness to compensate? So for example, in terms of Souter- since his character is based on isolated combat, suppose his "weakness" is that he had a heavy stutter- making it more difficult to work with or against anyone, and therefore counterbalancing the OP compounding? :V Just an idea...

I'll do an introduction too then, but I'll keep it as brief as possible :3 My character is Kherstor Suteruduen, a twinborn sapper (Leecher & Sparker). He's a famous freelance bounty hunter who specializes in taking down rogue users of the metallic arts. Using his Mentalmind, Kherstor has near perfect aim, and is capable of incredibly quick decision making- making him deadly in combat. Thats all I'll say for now :B Say, Eowyn- since your character specifically specializes in tracking rather than combat, and mine is combat based- maybe we could team up? It wouldn't be unrealistic to consider a lawman and a bounty hunter working together to bring down a mutually targeted criminal... :V

I tried making a little animation, here's what I got :B btw, this took me most of the summer holiday to make- but I've only just worked out how to publish it... x.x (Is there any way to make it slower without editing the delay on the frames? :V)

I've got my character concept pretty much done, should I write up a quick synopsis to briefly introduce him? Or should we wait till we officially start before doing that? :B

Should we flesh out our Characters a bit? (names, alignment, jobs, etc?) Or will we have roles assigned to us? :B

Admittedly, that would be very useful- if people want me to do more :V Although, my schedule is pretty full at the moment, so it'll probably be a while before I make any more- sorry :/ In the mean time, if people have any preferences on how they want to be presented from now on- make sure to say so I may do a PM thing when I have more free time, and probably just before I start the next thing :B

Well, 2 out of 5 is good enough for me :V http://www.17thshard.com/forum/uploads/gallery/category_2/gallery_12753_2_76896.jpg Since I had to make a lot of assumptions about some of the details, I don't mind making a second draft if anyone thinks I made any drastic miscalculations... :B Perhaps taking out the annotations and spreading the characters out a bit would be ideal too, but that should be relatively easy to fix :3

Hey, I just finished this cool doodle I did of all the characters! I picked through the character sheets everyone submitted and tried doing my impression of them, with varying results... I'm not the best drawer- in fact, I'm still pretty new to it, but I think it turned out pretty cool- although, I had to guess a lot of the details for Quiver and Maill... That's not going to contradict the "plz don't do stuff with my character" rule, right? .3.; I was thinking it would make a nice signature, since I haven't come up with anything witty enough myself for one yet :B Is that ok with you guys? I was thinking of adding it the roleplaying section of the Gallery, so I figured I should ask you all first.. :X edit: Uh... its also probably worth noting that it does not include Ponies... Is that going to be a problem? .3.;

Up close, it looked White & Gold to me- but further away, it started to look more blue & black :V I was looking over someones shoulder when I first saw it, and was really confused when I saw it change color later that day... XD

To be honest, there aren't a lot of problems that can't be solved with bees.... :3

Well, if Voidus can't do much until he's taken somewhere- maybe I should use my post to... take him somewhere? :V Before I can do that, though- can I confirm that the tunnels are clear? Unless there's anything barricading the way back to the king, it should be just a home run to the kings table, right? :B
