  1. Having an overpowered Hoid sounds like a good idea to me :V We have enough roles to protect him, if he reveals himself :B
  2. My entry: (hope its not too late :V) http://www.17thshard.com/forum/gallery/image/510-ahatia-air-transport-aon-competition/
  3. Ok, well I'm glad I wasn't too out of line ^-^ Next time I'll PM you first, though
  4. My entry for a custom Aon drawing contest :V I'm not sure if this is the right place to put such things, but I saw there was an option to attach images via the gallery, so I'm going to submit my piece this way, I hope that's the right way of doing it :B The Sigil contains the Aons: Tia, Seo, Iai, Iad, Eshe, Ata, Dao, and Aha. The way it works is you inscribe the pattern into a board which you can wear on your back- and the Aons form a pair of Wings made out of Dor light that can carry its bearer to where they direct it. Technically, you could draw the Aon in the air and fly without having to use an inscription- but due to its complex nature, it is difficult to complete in the midst of battle. The Sigil itself is merely a base- and can be easily customized by applying modifiers at the end of the Aha and Ata symbols to act as "feathers" which can change the nature of the wings. (For example: using Ehe would make the wings be made of Fire instead of just a glowing mesh of Dor where the wings would be. What shape or color or shape the wings take depends on the user- unless specified. The idea was, that I figured that Brandon had lots of different forms of flying in his other series (Lashing, Steelpushing, the water jetpack from Firefight, etc), and I noticed Elantris was lacking in the flying department- so I based my entry that would allow an Elantrian to fly :V I'm not entirely sure if this is how drawing Aons work, I couldn't find anything about connecting Aons- so I just drew all the Aons as if they were connected- the more important ones being bigger, and it is symmetrical to represent two outstretched "wings". I got all my info from the wiki, so it might not be a perfect representation- but it is was my impression of how Aons are drawn. :B Hope it qualifies ^-^
  5. Derushe was interrogating his fifth stranger, desperately trying to grasp the nature of the land he was in. Thankfully, by using a combination of a basic Aon, Are, Ene, Ien, Nae and various modifiers he could form a basic translator Aon- hiding the glowing sigils he drew within the pages of his notebook. "What do you mean you have to be born with powers? That's ridiculous!" "Its true, sir! I swear! Ya got to be born from a specific bloodline to use Allomancy!" "Preposterous! That's a rubbish way to decide who can use the magic! What if the bloodline ends, or the heirs to the family don't abide to their Gods will?" "I don't know about no "other" gods, I've said all I know! I swear!" "How am I supposed to use the magic? Am I to be born again before I can harness their power?" "Well, us Skaa only know so much- we don't know everything about the system, but we know to stay away from folks like Mistborn!" "Earlier... You said they... eat metal to gain magical powers? That doesn't make any sense!" "Its the truth! Nobody knows why, but if they eat a specific metal- they get a special power! Please can I go now...?" "No! You will answer my questions till I see fit to dismiss you!" "But..." "How do they eat metal? Do they bring tiny spoons with them to nibble on so they can fly, as you say they can?" "Nah, they grind the metals into dust and mix it with alcohol. Everyone knows that!" "So... A kind of potion, perhaps? Yet it only works on certain people... Interesting..." "Uh... sir..." "Fine, you are dismissed, strange person" "Hey! You said you would pay me to answer your questions! Wheres my money?" "See here, you odd individual- I said no such thing and intend to do nothing of the sort." "Oy! Who do you think you are, asking obvious questions and not paying an honest man? You got some nerve...!" "Hmph, fine- here, hold this" "Wuh...?" "I didn't say how much I was going to pay you, here's your payment- a random rock I found on the floor just now." "A rock..? You fool! This is a nugget of copper! That's worth more than my weekly wages!" "Really? Is metal not in abundance here?" "No, I just have really poor wages. Life is tough for Skaa in Luthadel, in case you didn't know that too. There's always a demand for metal though, cuz them Allomancers keep burning it." "Burning? I thought you said they ate it!" "Eh? Isn't that the same thing...?" "What? No its definitely not!" "Hey, if you want more info- you're going to have to pay me more" "But I... argh! never mind- I think I'll explore this city on my own for now..." Derushe parted from the random passer-by. What an odd fellow! Was all of this planet like him? A hooded figure with a thick beard drew out of an alley and bumped into Derushe. "Hey, stranger- I heard your little conversation just now, if its allomancy powers you want, I got some... uh... spikes, if you know what I mean. Good price, all legit, you understand?" Great, not only are this planets inhabitants incompetent- but there's some sort of drug system going around too. Derushe pushed past the figure, and continued walking to the center of the city. There seemed to be sort of festive gathering occurring in one of the taller buildings. A party, perhaps? What do they celebrate? Seeing this as the perfect opportunity to dig out some more information- Derushe brushed past the guards, ignoring their protests. There were certainly a lot of people here, and Derushe in his Garish clothing blended right in. Walking over to the nearest group, Derushe attempted his best to socialize with the peculiar people. Then, inexplicably- his Aons within his journal flickered. Uh oh... Last time that happened was when... Sure enough, all his Aons had stopped working. Some geographical constant in the cosmere had change- perhaps a new star had been born, or a planet destroyed, or some Shadholder had been shattered, or a million other possibilities that his Aons now relied on. Bother, who knows how long it would take now to leave this dreary planet? It could take months to find the error in his new form of Aons... As the party turned to welcome him, Derushe realized that was the least of his problems. "Dru Plioder, Gavik tre Pomerwell!" A man in green exclaimed to him enthusiastically. I'm going to hold onto my vote too. I still think we should hold off votes until we have concrete evidence. :V Other than that, there isn't much to do but poke people- I guess.
  6. Ah... Sorry about that, I'll definitely keep that in mind for future reference- I do tend to get carried away once I'm in the middle of writing something... .3.; I didn't mean to appear rude, I can still edit the post if it is an issue. In terms of Samuels Reaction, I figured if the dice was thrown at him- he'd be forced to take his hand off his sword hilt to catch the dice (assuming he isn't ambidextrous) and therefore would be distracted long enough by his instinctive reflexes for Shuster to cross the room and apply Chronomancy. I wasn't aware that Familiars intangibility could reduce the affect of Chronomancy either x.x In regard to rules, I have to admit I am slightly out of my depth here experience-wise compared to anyone else here, so my knowledge of basic rules is rather limited in that regard. Not that I'm trying to make excuses, I'm learning fast- but I will occasionally slip up sometimes. .x. Again, I apologize for being disrespectful- and I'm fine with changing the post if that is necessary. It won't happen again .3.
  7. Shuster caught the dice with one hand. Whoever this guy was, he did not like gambling. Lowering the stakes and his chances? An unheard concept to Shuster. That crocodile must be very important to him. All the more reason to be wary. He pretended to consider the offer, even though the choice seemed obvious to him- he needed a moment to plan his next move. Sure, he could easily manipulate the dice to his favor, but without being able to know which prisoner was the real Father- he'd be gambling on more than just a dice role. Also, there was no guarantee that the inquisitor would keep his word. Perhaps he only made the offer so he could see who the king so desperately wanted to save, to hold that person hostage. It was only a matter of time before he realized Shuster was bluffing about the extent of his powers anyway... The other option of fighting him head on was out of the question, Shuster would be no match in a direct fight- and fighting him and the crocodile at once would be impossible. That left only one other possibility, a possibility Shuster extensively liked to use whenever he gambled. He could cheat. The "game" itself was a ruse to lure the inquisitor into a sense of false confidence. It didn't matter whether Shuster won or lost, it was all part of the distraction. All that anger blinded the inquisitor to Shusters true motive, and playing on his sense of righteousness made him arrogant. Arrogant enough to fall into Shusters trap while keeping the prisoners alive. He's losing his patience... Say something, anything! Lowering his outstretched hand, Shuster continued to taunt the Inquisitor in his unnerving tone. "You and I aren't so different, you know... Time is a funny thing, you see- you can save it, you can kill it, you can make it or even take it" Shaking the dice in one hand he continued his lure, occasionally throwing it up in the air and catching it with one hand. "But one thing you can't change, is fate. Everyone has there time, it is the unavoidable- no matter how far you run or hide. Like your fire, we both believe that demise is inevitable, only a matter of time... But, if someone were to know my fate- then nothing anyone could do could change that sealed moment in time. Time cannot be changed. Therefore, whenever I gamble my life- I cannot lose. As long as my stake is high enough to risk my life, I am destined to win- because my death is already organized elsewhere." This was a blatant lie, while seeing the future wasn't impossible- fate did not work in that way. Not only that, but Shuster didn't have that kind of power yet. The boast was merely put in place to make the inquisitor feel even more confident with himself. Looking up, it was clear that the inquisitor had taken the bait, his face was pulled back into a sneer of disbelief. He opened his mouth to say something in jest. Too slow. Now was the time to strike. Before the inquisitor could speak, Shuster flung the Dice as hard as he could towards the inquisitors head- and used quicktime on himself. He only had so much quicktime, so he also used slowtime on the inquisitor, the crocodile and the guards. Spread out over so many targets over such a distance barely affected them, but he needed every second he could get. Shuster ran behind the dice as it glided through the air, crossing the distance of the room easily before anyone could react. As he reaches the first guard, Shuster leans backward into a slide, and as he slides past- pulls on the guards leg to pull him down while simultaneously pulling himself up. From there, he fell one guard standing next to the fallen guard with one swift stab, then turning the blade he cleaves the fallen guard as well in one fluid motion. With each fallen guard, the slowtime takes more strength on the remaining targets- meaning they could only slowly turn in horror. The Inquisitor had only just caught the dice, mocking jeer replaced with a surprised grimace. He slowly drops the dice and reaches for his sword, but his motions are too sluggish. Shuster delivers a powerful kick to the inquisitors leg, causing the inquisitor to drop to one knee so that he can reach behind the inquisitor and stab the final guard behind him. Seeing its master under attack, the crocodile instinctively leaped across the room towards Shuster. In its Chronomatic distortion, however- it could only hover slowly across the room, getting slower the further it approached Shuster. Shuster delivers one swift punch to the side of the Inquisitors head to disorientate him to prevent him from casting any magic- and sidesteps the crocodile as it approaches. Placing a hand on the crocodile belly, Shuster lets go of his quicktime on himself- and the slowtime on the inquisitor. With no other targets, and being within a close proximity- the crocodile could only slowly drift through the air. Holding the inquisitor in a lock to prevent him from retaliating, Shuster shouts out to the prisoners. "Bring me rope! I cannot hold them both forever!" The king had only asked for inquisitor heads, but a live inquisitor would be much more useful to his cause. Bringing him alive could perhaps earn Shuster a vital bonus in pay. Fortunately, prison had an abundance of shackles for prisoners, and within the minute the Inquisitor was safely handcuffed and gagged. Shuster kicked the inquisitors weapons away, just in case- and picked up the dice. It had ironically landed on a 3. "Well, Crocodile boy- a deals a deal" Shuster chuckled as he showed the inquisitor the dice, to his confusion "You said I could take one prisoner with me and run for one hour. Well, I pick you. Now call off your crocodile for an hour, Familiars are connected to their Masters mentally, right? I take you as prisoner, now you have to let me have an hour to run away before you're allowed to kill me." Shuster pocketed the dice, and turned to Ned and Joran- who had miraculously survived the conflict. "Ned, scout the tunnels and report back to me if they're blocked. If they're not, go straight to the general and report our progress. Joran, you make your way to Lord Earney and report our progress. If he does not require our help, report back to me so that we know we can take the main gate in an emergency." Seeing the two run off down the tower, Shuster then turned to the prisoners "Carry the inquisitor, and wait for me by the entrance of the tower. I will hold off the crocodile for as long as possible, then we can sprint from the tower back through the tunnels and to the Kings palace. Ensure the prisoner cannot speak or move his arms freely, he is a magic user" Waiting for all the men to leave, Shuster finally turned his attention to the crocodile. Its eyes were unfocused, but clearly it was in a rage. It still hadn't landed from its instinctive jump. Shuster didn't want to leave the crocodile behind, it would have made a neat bonus- presenting that to the king. Alas, his sword could not pierce the Crocodiles scales, never mind cut through it. Never mind, there were bigger fish to fry. Shuster applied quicktime to himself once more, and leaped for the door, closing it behind him and running downstairs. Once he had let the slowtime go, the sound of the crocodile slamming across the room could be heard echoing throughout the tower. Shuster sprinted down the stairs, it didn't seem like the Crocodile was planning on giving them an hour head start. Seeing the Prisoners huddled around the door, Shuster let go of his quicktime and shouted to them. "We run now! To the Tunnels! Nobody is to be left behind!" Leading the group from the back, the prisoners make their way across the courtyard and dash to where Ned had headed.
  8. Ima be at Scadrial :B Derushe Tuskuntore had begun his expedition on the latest planet he had discovered. He had spent a great deal of breath to achieve the journey, but he should be able to regain it in time for a journey back. In the meantime, he planned to explore this peculiar planet, and perhaps learn of its culture if it proved to be worthy of note. His first impression was that there was no sky. A great smog enveloped the horizon, and ash fell from the clouds. It was unlike anything Derushe had ever seen before. A world without color... A Hallandrian nightmare! How depressing... how do the locals cope? And there were locals, in fact- there seemed to be a grand city! Fascinated, Derushe reached for his notebook and scribbled away. Finding a planet sustainable for life was one thing, but finding a planet as advanced as his own was another. After finishing his sketch, he dashed into the streets- looking for locals to interrogate.
  9. I actually survived! Well, ish Not bad for a first time player, right? (even if the team basically did most of the work themselves z.z) No hard feelings, right? :3
  10. So... Joe, care to explain your sudden change in heart at the end of the cycle? >.>
  11. Another RP? I'm sure I have enough time... Derushe Tuskuntore was an Elantrian scholar who was worldhopped accidentally to Nalthis via experimental teleportation Aons. Unable to draw upon the power of Dor (since he was too far from Elantris to use the amplifying Rao Aon of the four gates), he settled in Nalthis to study its own magic system. After gathering a large wealth of breath, and tattooing many Rao symbols into his back and skin- he managed to combine the two magicks to perfect his own form of Worldhopping. By using Biochromatic heightenings to increase his accuracy in drawing symbols, he invented a wide range of commands and aons that could interact with each other.
  12. will there be prizes? o.o
  13. You're both voting me purely because I might be a rioter? We've followed that logic for at least 3 cycles, and all three were innocent- why would that change now? I have my reasons for placing orders as I did (albeit, not very good ones x.x), but my ability alone is not enough to prove my guilt. If you kill me now, you'll lose what little vote leverage you have left- but if you don't, then we can use that leverage against the spiked- and since this is the endgame, you couldn't need my help anymore than you already do now. Lynching me would not only be a fatal mistake, but it would still be unjust because neither of you have presented anything that proves I'm a spiked. And seriously Wyrm, considering your previous accusations are usually pretty well developed- that one was pretty flimsy :/
  14. Hey, just because I might be a rioter doesn't mean I'm spiked! .o. What makes you think I'm even the last emotimancer? Not everyone's roles have been revealed Mislinching me would only put you 2 spots behind in voting, it'd be like killing t w o more villagers :/ Seriously, how many emotimancers do we have to mislynch until we realize that being an emotimancer isn't enough to warrant suspicion?
  15. Odustren collected his paints. He'd gone 9 days without a sustainable income, and it showed. His skin was pale and wrinkled, his hair going grey and ragged in some places, and his clothes filthy and torn. Despite the Towns original hospitality, things around town had slowly ground to a halt- and nobody could help a beggar under such desperate conditions. Doing his best to survive, he had stayed at the town in the hope of retrieving his paints. Now, they were here- and with the koloss so close Odustren still could not leave. So, Odustren set out to find the tallest building in the town. Thankfully, the mysterious thief had left plenty of paint and canvas's for Odustren to complete one final masterpiece. Once Odustren reached the tower of his choosing, he set up his equipment- analysed the towns flowing landscape, and painted. Not as the town was now, but as it was before- when the barracks were still functioning, and the walls were still in place, and the shops were still open, and the village was filled with many people. As he worked on it, he kept doubting himself. Would that person still be here, if it weren't for me? Would the town be like this if I were not here? To that, he could not answer- for his mind was riddled with guilt and worry. So much so, that he couldn't get his paintings to work just right. With so little paper, Odustren just kept painting over and over on the same canvas. He worked all day, and still he knew he wouldn't be done. He promised himself to work all night too, and the night after- so that he could finish his painting. He was in such a haste, for he knew that painting would be his last. He kept painting over and over his work, for he feared that if he should stop- then so in turn would he. In truth, he had found what he had lost- but he had lost what little of himself he had left. So he painted.
  16. The Shard of Prey. Your powers only assist you at being hunted or beaten
  17. This looks cool, I'll try and get involved ^-^ I have a drawing tablet, is it alright to draw with that?
  18. I vote for Jain :V Sorry, but you're the only other suspect spiked rioter, and I'm not going to vote for myself- that's all there is to it :/
  19. Take your time, I've got my fair share of things to be doing as well for the meantime
  20. Ok, I've made my move- sorry if I'm forcing a confrontation, but we've got to meet each other eventually, right? And, in case it wasn't entirely obvious, Voidus- I do fully intend to cheat via chronomancy >:3
