Adventures in Edassa: Summer, 1375 S.E - City of Menkor
Unodus replied to Seonid's topic in Inactive RPs
The rumbling floor snapped Shuster to his senses. Turning away from the window, he faces the prisoners- sheathing his sword and pulling out the keys to the cells, he runs to where Joran and Ned are. No sense stopping now, let's try our luck one more time... "Joran, gather all the weaponry from the fallen guards that you can and bring them here. Ned, block the stairs anyway you can. Throw furniture down there if you must, just buy us as much time as you dare." The two spurred into action, leaving Shuster behind with the prisoners. Resisting the urge to panic and waste quicktime, Shuster starts unlocking prisoner doors at random. "If you want to live, pick up a weapon from Joran and fight for your life. The inquisitors won't be needing political prisoners in an all out war against Menkor." Untrained prisoners won't last long in a conflict against bloodthirsty inquisitor soldiers, but Chronomancy is only effective if it can catch the opponent by surprise. The only way to do that is to have a distraction. While the attackers are occupied with hunting down defenseless prisoners, that'll leave them open for me to sneak around to attack. Hopefully, the real Mathiene won't get clubbed in the process- but it's not like I have a choice. The only issue is the only way to get down is the stairs which are currently blocked by inquisitors, it'll be impossible to sneak up on them from that direction. So instead... Shuster eyed the open window. Apparently, the tower was about 80 feet in total. Even at the floor Shuster was at, it still is not a height a normal human could survive unscathed I haven't tried distorting the very wind itself in a long time, lets see if I've still got what it takes... Leaping onto the windowsill, Shuster looked back to the cells. The prisoners were in a daze, not only had they been thrown into a situation of kill or be killed, but now their rescuer was about to throw himself out the window. Such despair... But if I don't abandon them, then they will all die. At least this way a majority will survive. If I'm lucky I might even get paid. A small voice within himself resonated around Shusters mind Give them something to hope for... Gritting his teeth at his insecurities, Shuster shouted at the stunned prisoners "Hey! For any of you who survive, I'll personally recommend you to the King himself. I'll see to it that you have a life to return to once this is over. I give my word." More confused looks. Time to leave. Spreading his arms out, Shuster leans forward- falling face first out the window. Goddess of Time, don't fail me now... Using slowtime on the air just in front of him, Shusters air resistance increases dramatically as the air particles move much slower. Like sinking through watered syrup instead of air- Shuster glides down. By controlling where the resistance is stronger, he keeps his feet against the wall to maintain balance. To the untrained eye, it would appear that he was running down the very wall of the tower itself. As the ground grew closer, Shuster used more quicktime on himself to make the descent seem slower for himself. While this wouldn't affect his momentum, it means he could execute a more advanced break roll to ease his fall which would otherwise be impossible. Even with his Chronomancy, the height could still cripple him. Pushing away from the tower wall, and executing a well placed roll at the last second- Shuster hits the ground running. As gravity catches up to him, he stumbles slightly- but nothing seems broken. Looking around, it doesn't seem that anyone has noticed- everyone's so focused on the battle at hand that they all seemed to have missed Shusters stunt. At least- that is how it seemed, nobody was raising an alarm- or charging blindly at him. Lets make this quick... Sneaking back into the tower through the door, Shuster crept up behind the inquisition forces. With their backs turned, Shuster could work through their defenses easily. This time, he decided to ration his quicktime, and rely primarily on slowtime- Quicktime was simply far too useful to waste. One group at a time, he'd slow them so they couldn't move or call for help- and then stab them in their helpless state. Over the noise and chaos of the battle, the people in front would not notice until it was too late. So Shuster ascended the tower once more. It was depressing how easy the trained soldiers fell when distracted. Shuster passed some rough barricades that had been thrown down in haste, no doubt the work of Ned- but something of impossible strength had torn through them with ease. It was not long till Shuster reached the center of the conflict. The Soldiers seemed to be hanging back from the prison cell room, as if they feared to enter it- how strange. Shuster cut them down quickly. What could have caused them to fear the room itself? Perhaps the prisoners were more hardened criminals than he thought. As he turned the corner, he saw he couldn't have been further from the truth. Within the room, stood a full inquisitor- a tanned sorcerer dressed in a crimson red Martyr uniform, protected by three inquisitor guards. The prisoners themselves seemed relatively unharmed, there were a few injured- but not nearly as great a loss as would be expected. What is going on here...? And then he saw it, a great beast engulfed the center of the room. Scaled and green, long and formidable. Some sort of Primevil Reptile, a Demon lizard. Shuster had heard of such creatures, but not seen them himself. Truly its appearance was beyond intimidating. How in Matryrs Flames am I going to beat a "Crocodile"? It seemed to be toying with the prisoners, closing in on them slowly like a cat about to pounce. The Inquisitor seemed to be Goading it on. Of course! A familiar! I should have expected no less from a full inquisitor The Crocodile had rounded up the remaining resistance, the prisoners stood there- paralyzed with fear. I doubt their weapons could pierce its thick scales anyway. clearly, it intended to savor the kill. This wasn't a creature fighting for survival, it was a monster- driven purely on its lust to destroy. I have to do something... I can't let them all die now... Carelessly, Shuster blurted out the first thing that came to his mind "I... I challenge your Faith!" Maybe... Maybe I can bluff my way out of this... He had the attention of the entire room, the Inquisitors eyes seemed to burn into him with lucid hate. The Crocodile turned away from the cowering prisoners to face its new prey- its not as if they had anywhere to run to. Swallowing his fear, and sheathing his sword- Shuster spoke with a Steely determination, and withdrew a dice from his pocket. "Clearly we are both veterans of our class, I'd rather not waste the time necessary dueling an opponent as skilled as you. We'd be here till dawn- I'm sure you don't want to waste anytime not purging heathens, right? We don't need to fight, I'm not even from the Menkor army. But, if you truly believe in the power of the Martyr, then you will heed my words." Before the Inquisitor could interrupt him with a spell, Shuster tossed the dice over- forcing the Inquisitor to catch it and disrupt the spell he was casting. "Some say luck is the will of the Gods. Well, I propose a trial to see which of ours is the greater. My Patron Goddess versus your Martyr. If you win, I'll surrender right now- and let you kill me and my comrades without resistance. But if I win, you let me and the prisoners go- and..." Shuster points with more confidence than he was feeling at the Ginormous crocodile. "I get to keep that things head. It's a familiar, right? You can just get it to grow a new one." I haven't got any inquisitor heads to get extra bonus's from the King yet, presenting him a crocodile head would surely be much more impressive... "This is how it works, we roll a dice- and let our Gods decide who will be victor. I'll let you choose five numbers on the dice, because my God is just that much stronger than yours- and if the dice rolls on any of those numbers, you win. If it lands on the number you didn't pick, I win. There's no way I can cheat, I'll let you roll the dice and choose the numbers- the Gods will decide the victor. I won't blame you if you refuse, the Martyr is such a pathetic God it doesn't stand a chance anyway." The Inquisitor was practically seething now. Coal and Timber! This guy... He seems so intense... He looks like he could snap at any second...! "Tell you what, if I lose, I'll even change sides. Sure, if you're God is better than mine- then I'll reform. You could use all the fighters you can get, yknow- since I just killed so many of yours. Your Choice." The crocodile was getting ready to pounce, it gave a sideways glance to the inquisitor, as if asking its permission. Shuster kept persisting "How much is your faith really worth, huh- tough guy? Do you truly believe? Now's your chance to prove yourself, the "odds" are in your favor, at least. I wonder how your God will feel if you turned down your one chance to prove your eternal loyalty, or if you broke such an ethereal agreement. The dice is in your hands, will you play- or will you accept that what you are doing is against the will of your own God?"- 31 replies

Anniversary Game: In the Re-Wake of the Koloss
Unodus replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I'm going to put my vote on Dowanx, because if its not me- then the next most likely person is him :/ Also, if I don't vote for someone- that's going to make me look more suspicious then I am already :B Either way, my vote won't make a huge difference- I just hope my vote will protect the lynch from emotimancy. Looks like if I'm wrong, though- I'll get lynched anyway... x.x I hope I'm right... -

That's true, its possible they have a mistborn that has drawn Soother/rioter on multiple occasions :B Or, perhaps some of the emotimancers aren't spiked? :/ -

*ahem* I'm a dude... .3.; but I appreciate the support. I would voice my suspicions, but my grounds aren't solid yet. I'm worried if I'm wrong I'll be executed for sure (It does seem to be a pattern in this game :/ ). Do forgive me if I keep my suspicions to myself- either way is a risk for me, so I will take the path that lets me prepare for later- where I can properly incriminate the true killer. I still have tomorrow to voice my opinions, so I will address them then if need be. Personally I'd like to stay alive, even if its not strictly "necessary" to win. Yknow, in the spirit of the game nstuff? To be honest, I think the only way we can win now is by working out who's been playing with who. This game is being set up by someone from behind the scenes. Since I'm the only one who hasn't tampered with PMs (With the exception of some phishing >.>), surely that should mean I should be the least suspicious as there's no way I can be one of the masterminds? -
Anniversary Game: In the Re-Wake of the Koloss
Unodus replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I have nothing to hide, clearly I've been set up :/ There was irrefutable evidence that Weiry had been working with someone (being lurched & smoked). Since Weiry never revealed who he was working with, or the person who was working with him never came forward- the cooperation could only have been with a spiked (They would never have revealed each other so that in the case one was found, the other would still be safe). I've avoided voting so far because I found previous arguments flimsy, but this one was watertight- and I know how emotimancy has mislead votes before, so I took a gamble and made a vote so that Weiry's fate would be sealed. I've also mentioned several times that I don't want people being lynched at all, because that helps the spiked more than it helps us- that's the only reason why haven't contributed as much to the game (besides being lazy, of course ) . What you say is true, I have made a few technical errors trying to grasp the logical details of the game- but at least my presence is more informative than not being here at all :\ (I hope) However, being laid back in terms of contributing to the game isn't something that grasps me as being suspicious, so I'm not sure what you want me to say. :B Perhaps my recent turn of heart is what made me a target? Previously, I was about as contributive to the lynch as an inactive- me being an unexpected variable in the Spiked plans is what I believe made me a target for being set up, because Weiry was already on the ropes and my one vote would have made the difference (Thank goodness someone changed their vote at the last minute =-= ). As for who I'm suspicious of, I'd rather not say right now because I'm kind of one the ropes myself, and I don't want to make any more enemies right now... Although, I do want to know- has anyone besides Joe kept records of the votes? If not... Well, perhaps that warrants investigation? If you catch my drift I hope that answers your questions :V -

Finally, we got someone! So, 2 of the Emotimancers must be either Dominic, Dowanx, Jasnah, or Macen? I guess we have a 50/50 chance of lynching the right one :/ In response to this, we have had riots and soothes in the past, it's not impossible that the spiked have a rioter and a soother which are working together to frame me 3: -

Well, I'm convinced. It is clear that Weiry (sorry Weiry :[ ) has been lurched and smoked (Wait, who originally claimed Weiry was smoked? I think I missed that... x.x) The only way this scenario could happen is if Weiry was working with someone- and given that we know a certain mischievous group already, we can assume this group is the spiked. Unless Weiry cares to reveal who he was working with- that is the only conclusion that can be drawn. If another possibility does exist, then I'll happily retract my vote :V -

Are you sure? :V I mean, now that your role has been revealed- that'll make you a target for the spiked, right? If the messages include vital clues- it might be better to reveal them now while you still can... :/ Good job on all the poems, btw ^=^ -

(Am I the only one who didn't know Mail was a Tineye? >.> ) Hey Mail, since you confessed to being the TIneye- could you tell us the secret meanings behind your tineye messages? Because I spent a really long time trying to decode them- to no avail x.x I mean... there were secrets hidden in them right? :V -

I'm still not going to place a vote because I am unconvinced of anyone's guilt. Until decisive evidence is provided, I'd prefer to not get involved in the overanalysisng. At least that way my vote can't be manipulated. (even if does put me in the same category as the suspicious) -
Anniversary Game: In the Re-Wake of the Koloss
Unodus replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I'm going to fall back into my stance of "we shouldn't be lynching anybody". I just don't believe all this pressure voting and threatening is actually getting us anywhere. We're killing ourselves faster than the spiked are. Surely we'll get more information from living longer, than suspecting each other without proper grounds for suspicion (this isn't helped by the fact that lots of people have been keeping secrets). If we don't vote- the spiky emotimancy would be useless because it doesn't affect anyone who hasn't voted. The people we should regard with suspicion are the people voting, as a proportion of them are the spiked teaming together to form a lynch. If we lynch no one this round, the spiked will be pressured into having to lynch people themselves. Once we see someone breaking the "no-vote pact", we'll know straight away that they are a spiked- then we can overwhelm them with our collective votes. At the very least, we should try not to lynch anyone because we still haven't got any clues. The Seekers need time to find spiked- but lynching only shortens the amount of time we have. We can't afford to lose any more active players, or we'll be overwhelmed by the spiked. We can't target people randomly anymore, we need something more solid than just "suspicion" before we lynch players. Surely I can't be the only one thinking this? -

Anniversary Game: In the Re-Wake of the Koloss
Unodus replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Great, not only did my vote not count- but it was also wrong :/ [sorry, Wilson.... ;-;] I think I might wait a while before placing a vote, simply because I have no idea who to vote for.... In the meantime, I'm going to keep going at this tineye message.... One thing I need to ask, though- How many of us "actives" are left...? .3.; I'm slightly concerned because if the spiked outnumber us, it might not even matter if we know who did it- because there are at least 5 or 6 spiked among us... And with the vote leverage, we might not have anyone left who can do anything... (We've already lost a mistborn, coinshot and lurcher). Since we can only assume inactives won't vote unless prompted- we only have a handful of people left to vote... If we can't control the lynch or affect the night cycles, then we've already lost- right? -

Anniversary Game: In the Re-Wake of the Koloss
Unodus replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I've been mostly keeping my votes to myself- but I think now's the time to pick a side, since not voting can only cast suspicion on myself. Don't take this personally, but I'm going to vote for you- Wilson, sorry about this- but you're the only one. You are clearly, one of the more experienced players here- and all your responses are incredibly in depth, considering even the slightest thing. From what I can tell, you also have a reputation for being manipulative. Despite all your analysis, we still haven't found any spikes. This is partially because we lack a lot of information. You however, have a comfortable position in the center of a large connection of PM groups (at least, that's how it seems)- and have had access to a lot of secrets. While you have revealed many through your debates- I'm concerned that you haven't shared with us everything. By feeding us the right information, you could control our responses easily, and get the people you want lynched. The large amount of detail you go into to incriminate someone, I also consider to be a bit suspicious. Presenting the facts is one thing, but we've had only faulty lynching, mislead coinshots and Emotimancers- someone is blatantly toying with us. In fairness, this is only my first game- so I don't know what to expect, however- you openly admit to maintaining secret links with multiple people. Someone has set us up, and the only person I can think of that has revealed to have that amount of power and dedication to do so is you. If you are a spiked, that's a possibility we simply can't ignore. While I may not have much in the way of evidence to support my claim- you have way too much influence to the village as a whole. We can't leave the possibility of a spiked controlling the whole game right in front of us. If there's even a sliver of doubt- we have to pursue it, because it may be the only hint we'll get. For this reason, I am going to be particularly stubborn with my vote. You have enough experience to weave out of any argument I can present, I assume- which is why I won't make this a debate. I've watched closely from the corners, and I've thought carefully about this. My vote will not change, although I will still consider your arguments- purely because I can't trust my own thoughts after going into an argument with someone clearly more advanced than myself- I can prevent myself from being manipulated by choosing now, instead of then. I hope you understand. While it would usually be my primary objective to side with no one, I can't follow that path any more because the amount of emotimancers mean that anyone who doesn't vote is to be regarded with suspicion. In the hope that my opinion will not drastically alter the result of the lynch- I vote for you, because I trust my instincts. If I'm wrong, smarter people will disagree with me and you won't get lynched. If I'm right, smarter people will side with me and we'll finally be down a spiked. Sounds like a win-win to me. Considering the circumstances, that's the best I can do... Sorry, I guess- even though I'm voting against you, I still don't want anyone to "die" :S -

If there's been some Emotimancy going on, can we be absolutely sure it was a spiked that organized it? I mean, someone organized it so that nobody gets lynched- that kind of sounds counterproductive from Team Spikes perspective. Considering that getting a tie in votes is something the Team evil doesn't want to do- shouldn't we assume that at least one of these rioters are on our side? -

Well, since this might be my only contribution to this cycle because I've been out of the loop so long (sorry x.x)- I suggest that we shouldn't lynch anyone without undeniable evidence, we're sort of making a lot of assumptions based on what people are saying and not what the seekers are seeing- yknow? Doing Team Spikes job for them, etc? For that reason, I'm going to avoid writing a huge wall of text and vote for nobody- sorry Ok, thats my contribution to the discussion (please don't kill me ;-; ) -

Odustren analysed the crime scene for the hundreth time- looking for anything that would incriminate the true killer. Again, nothing stood out- the killer hadn't left anything traceable. As he turned to go waste another night in the Tavern- he overheard the General and the Baron say something interesting...- "Now, Baron, what's really interesting is this here multi-coloured response. These dyes are expensive, especially blue, and as a result I believe we can track down the killer! You see, blue dye can only come from-" The dyes...? Now that he mentioned it, the colours did seem unsual.. Of course! Now that he looked closer at the message- he could recognise that all the colours of the message were from his own paints! The person who had left this puzzle must have been the one who had stolen the paints from him. Or atleast, they had been passed onto the writer by the elusive thief. Odustren clenched his fist in anger at the thought of his precious paints being wasted for such ridiculing puzzles. As soon as he caught the guy who had put down these messages, he'd.... Odustren didn't finish that train of thought, instead he trudged down to the tavern- and bought the strongest drink he could afford- muttering to himself, and plotting malicous punishments for the thief. If only he could work the messages true meaning, if there was one- perhaps he could work out why it was stolen from him in the first place....
