  1. My best friend is attending Oregon State University for a graduate degree. He doesn't know I partake in a RP set in Corvallis.
  2. Peter, is it possible to place a progress bar for the graphic novels in the tracker on the website? That would be awesome, but I understand there might be some legal issues preventing such a thing.
  3. From what I've read of Brandon answering questions like this, he says it didn't happen until shortly after HoA was released. I guess all of a sudden he was recieving a lot of Hoid questions?
  4. See, I think the -san would work. After all, she's talking to an Epic with the power to kill her at any moment. Signs of respect are probably more beneficial than signs of affection. Then again, it's Shiny and Autumn...
  5. The system does not rely upon Returned. One can reach the Third Heightening without Returning. It is the written language for the rich.
  6. That is the one problem with Kickstarter, they often have outlandish international shipping. Have you shot the Taylors an e-mail so they can help you figure out the exact cost? I know someone else had been asking them about it, and they said to contact them directly.
  7. Ah, okay. My apologies. But are we sure Aviar is not the species? I was under the impression that they were one species, and the people were baffled by the fact that only Aviar born on the Pantheon gained powers.
  8. MURDERLINA SHALL NOT STAND FOR THIS!!!! Err....I meant to say "That's really scary"
  9. He used those tactics when fighting swordsmen better than he was. And those swordsmen all claimed he was good, and they were the best of the best on Nalthis. I think you're head-canoning him unfairly. Though I agree with your statement that there is only so much that can be done, given hundreds of years I still think you'd make it to their level (assuming you didn't age). You'd obviously have to take it seriously, and not treat it as a joke, but with time you'd improve to tremendous levels.
  10. Weiry, I noticed your note on Coppermind about Sak's species not being "bird". Obviously that's correct, but his species is "Aviar". It's right in the story: From Kindle Edition, "Location 1618" I made the corrections on the Coppermind. Edit: That's not to say Flora and Fauna don't need updating, I just got confused by your remark when Sak is given a species name by Brandon.
  11. Happy Birthday!

    1. Comatose

      Comatose

Just saw this now, haha. Thanks!

  12. Is anyone else pledging towards this? I've already pledged $100 for the Commodore package. I'm particularly hopeful we reach the $150k mark so we get the Seventy Maxims book! Here's a link to see the project: here you go!
  13. The hue is the most important part, Winter. As for OP, we don't know the answers to any of your questions except it is highly likely that the script is a manufactured language, and not a natural one.
  14. WHAT!!???!!!! You mean I can't attain THIS: no matter HOW HARD I TRY??!!!??!!?!?!?!?!?!
  15. Hrm. I see your point. You should bring this up in the Coppermind Forum on this site. One argument could be that they are still "the same," and that Nalan has been adding people into the group who even don't have powers. I disagree with that, but I don't know why it got put there. I have no idea where you got the information behind the bolded statement, so if you could share your source that would be great. Obviously any sort of flux of KR numbers is due to spren, though the Rosharan would likely need to agree to it as well. It has never been stated that any random shmuck could just volunteer to be a KR and get a spren as a result, so I agree with you there. I also agree that with the Stormfather now joining the fight, he ought to let more Honorspren bond with Rosharans, but that is only guess work. As I said, Squire-ship is still very unknown. Does distance matter? I am personally in Moogle's camp in thinking that bonds between beings are what causes power manifestation on Roshar. So if Lopen's ability is due to him being Kaladin's Squire (as the rest of Bridge 4 also showed the ability to absorb Stormlight at the end of WoR), does the distance from Kaladin matter, or is it more the strength of Lopen's bond to Kaladin? Moreover, Lopen is one of the members most loyal to Kaladin, so does this stronger bond have any affect on the distance as well? We don't know the answer to any of these questions, to my knowledge, so any conclusions made are merely guess work. As for my personal opinion, I think all the evidence in the book points to Lopen being a Squire, like the other members of Bridge Four.
  16. I find reading your response fun...soo...yeah. This is the kind of discussions I have irl with my law school friend.
  17. Kaladonia Shallanova Siristival Vivendonia Vasherevic Susebronia Elendor Sazedon Hrathendor
  18. Only if Bromance is an Epic that has powers to adjust the relationships between "bros"
  19. Unfortunately no. We know they exist via WoB, and we know Windrunners get an abnormal amount (and said abnormal amount may or may not be more powerful than the generic squire) via WoB, but they have yet to be fully explained (or even partially explained) by Brandon himself.
  20. You might be right. I haven't looked at mine in a while, it could be .doc
  21. But he is a Skybreaker. That's Nalan's group. He's just not the Radiant Skybreaker, necessarily.
  22. I would whole heartedly disagree with you. Warbreaker, in my opinion, seems to have the most information about Realmatics. The only other work that comes close is Emperor's Soul.
  23. PDF. The honor system is used. If you'll notice, though, you won't find a copy online (at least not easily). It's worked well so far, and I have a feeling that the moment someone ruins it, they'll stop sending copies to people who ask for them.
  24. This. Her field breaks physics. It's essentially a sieve, except she controls the specific things that can and can't pass through the filter. She mentally specifies as she puts the bubble up, and cannot change the bubble afterwards, so if she were wanting to allow something else through, she'd have to replace the bubble with a new one. As such, her Corvallis bubble allows air and water to pass through (the latter so that the Williamette River doesn't flood the area surrounding the bubble). If her PI is triggered, the only thing that is default allowed through is air. She can, of course, intentionally alter this, but default is only air. If any old energy manipulator could break through her bubbles (I presume they are a rather common powerset, like fire based Epics, Converter is just a rather strong variant) then her ability isn't anywhere near as useful as was initially intended. That was why the limiting factor to her bubble is conviniently in place. The moment her PI activates, the bubble around Corvallis falls and she has to scramble to 1) survive whatever triggered her PI and 2) scramble to OSU campus to replace the bubble. Let me know if you're still confused or opposed.
