  1. I've never struggled with math or science before. Biology, Chemistry, Calculus, it all came easily, A's and A+'s all day every day. I got a C in Physics. First time ever. Physics is oddly hard, and you are in no way the only person who has struggled. It's only Day 3, give yourself a chance to shrug off summer and get into the groove of things! Like Mestiv said, we are more than willing to help!
  2. Gen VI.5 was like the gorgeous offspring of my two favorite generations. I imagine that the only way to understand my feelings would be to have experienced strawberries, then cheesecake, and then learning that there is such a thing as strawberry cheesecake. It was awesome. Ash Grey is an unofficial ROM of Firered/Leafgreen (Gen III.5) in which you play a videogame that stayed truthful to the anime (unlike Yellow), i.e. you play as Ash instead of Red.
  3. You're getting much warmer. I'm trying to decide when to offer the clue that gives it away. The boy's travels puts him in a location that has a climate that is the same, yet the opposite, of the one he grew up in.
  4. That's a fantastic gif.
  5. No. Clue: The boy is somewhat deterred due to his peers believing his magic to be superstition, but his blind optimism overcomes this.
  6. I am disappoint. Another thing that irks me is when people don't realize that there's often more than one character who has taken a super hero's name. To use Green Lantern as an example, Most people my age recognize John Stewart, the black Detroit architect, due to his use on the Justice League cartoon. But there's also Hal Jordan, the most popular one, Guy Gardner, the hot headed one, and Kyle Rayner, the creative one. And let's not forget Alan Scott, the original GL from the golden age. This applies to Flash, Robin, and really any other hero who's had multiple iterations as well.
  7. Along the same lines, calling Raiders of the Lost Ark "Indiana Jones". Um, no. That was number 2 and 3. Indiana Jones is a character in Raiders, but that movie is not called Indiana Jones.
  8. The phrase "You be trippin'" originated from drug culture. "Tripping" was slang for being high on drugs, also known as drug trips. The prevalence of drug culture slowly altered the phrase to the more common use of "B****, you be trippin'" as a response a man offers his significant other when she says something crazy, most often used in the popularized rap culture, a branch of the drug culture. This was then altered further to the "You be trippin'" as a means to say the line to men as well. To put it simply, "You be trippin'" means either 1) You're crazy, 2) You're acting unreasonably, or more literally 3) You're high on drugs.
  9. How I view Reader's response to Autumn:
  10. I stopped watching the show during the second season in Hoenn, the one after Pokemon Advanced. It was some time between defeating Winona and her shiny Swellow, and Liz & Tate. I want to say I watched an episode or two with them in Lilycove City, but I don't remember. I also haven't been involved in the card game in a very, very long time. Video games, though, that's where I'm at. I used to play competitive meta game up through Generation IV, but I loathed Gen V, so I dropped the meta game. Gen VI has been a blast, though, and is my second favorite generation (after Gen III, of course).
  11. Unfortunately, you're already waiting through nearly 12, if not more, Cosmere books even without a 1940's tech trilogy. Personally, I don't mind, but my ideaology is "the more the merrier." Brandon is such a skilled artist that watching his skill grow with each book is only going to make the journey better. I doubt I'll grow tired of his work, even if I get tired of SFF before then (but that'll never happen either, so...).
  12. A country boy must learn to cope with revelations about his past so that he may master a magic he never knew he had in time to save a people.
  13. Brandon's still toying with a 1940's tech level era, last I checked. The original Trilogy of Trilogies was the first set, a 1980's tech level, and the sci-fi story. He's since added Wax and Wayne, and then there's the 1940's. We might wind up expanding our count to 5 Era's before he even gets to the second trilogy originally planned!
  14. Well, Gen II is still the fan favorite (even though III is definitely better!), so you're not alone in favoring Gen II. As that guy who has all the games (literally every one of them), I personally enjoyed Gen IV, Gen V was garbage, and Gen VI has been a blast and pushed Gen II out of second place in my book. Not that you asked, or anything... Also, they're still releasing ~100 new 'Mons every new generation. They've simply also taken to releasing half-generations now too, which don't usually introduce new 'Mons.
  15. After all of this, I have but one question. Voidus, why did you do the first 153? Why add Chikorita and Bayleef? Or did you mean the first 153 to be revealed?
  16. ... ... I must have misunderstood one of your posts then...
  17. I interpreted it a bit differently. With Sourcefield, they [Reckoners] knew she avoided Kool-Aid, implying it was her weakness. They then attempted to splash her with it, and her powers were disrupted, but not cancelled. David then, via accident, gets her to drink some, which does cancel her powers, and he kills her. Tia, then, was asking how he knew Sourcefield had to drink it to cancel the powers.
  18. I...uh...don't think that's as "minor" as you think. She might not be a High Epic, but that's a very strong power. She'd be able to make a pebble grow into a boulder, and then adjust the gravity affecting the boulder to turn it into a wicked projectile. She'd be able to turn peoples' clothes into stone, preventing them from running away. She could have the Midas touch or any variation of such (The Pudding Touch!). So I suppose that what I'm getting at is this; what are her limits? You've said she can't affect people, but what about objects on a person? Clothing, but also objects grasped by the person. If they are holding a pencil, can she affect that? That being said, I like her! She'll likely fit in very well. Welcome! So is your character going to be making the trek to and from Oregon every day? Why are they in Oregon? Also, California has a canon ruler that we've been trying to avoid commenting on, in the hopes that we can remain canon. Just some things to think about.
  19. ...Clue? That's the only movie I know of with three different endings.
  20. I'd say progress has been made! Though I know it's frustrating given you asked her to stop, it sounds to me like she has. She didn't apply to the job for you, like you were saying she was doing. Instead, she simply sent you a possibility, and is leaving the judgement of applying or not up to you. If anything, it sounds like she's trying to be nice, though it does seem to be in a rather passive aggressive way. Just keep looking on the bright side of things!
  21. Well, if you're in the right mindset we could use a Cornucopia post soon, though you might want to touch base with Comatose about the conversation about to be had. I'm not sure how in touch with the plants Cornucopia is (I'm sure some are getting destroyed given the attacks).
  22. It wouldn't. Prof was one of the first to be converted. Plus, the world as a whole doesn't know about the corruption, including many Epics. Really, Prof seems to be an outlier in recognizing the corrupting influence.
  23. To be fair, the LotR trilogy was fantastic, and did an admirable job of adjusting the source content to make a good trilogy of movies. It was only when the Hobbit movie was proposed that the greed reared its ugly head, and as a result we got three mediocre movies that didn't do the source material justice (even if they had great music and good acting).
  24. Though Prof was certainly afraid of using his power to the point of feeling the corruption, it wasn't his weakness. Megan overcame her weakness when she ran into the fire. It's overcoming the weakness that seems to remove the corruption.
