  1. actually the HoA epigraphs suggest TLR probably did know of all the metals.
  2. I'd previously heard it was co-current with Warbreaker also.
  3. you'll probably wanna read WoK last as it has the most outside references, other then that, any order will do.
  4. you can also disable Javascript.
  5. and if the stupid politicians get their way it will last forever.... nice comic though.
  6. it's probably theoretically possible, but I don't think the people of Roshar know enough about the details of the human body to do it yet, and it'd be very difficult in any situation as you'd have to get all the muscles and nerves and little arteries and veins and capillaries in the right place. I suspect you wouldn't be able to do any large-scale dramatic changes because it would be too complicated even with modern medical knowledge available. I wonder if you could change a person's fingerprints though?
  7. huh, that's neat!
  8. I agree with you about Jasnah, I'm an atheist myself and I was really impressed with how well Brandon did writing an atheist character, that's' something that a lot of religious authors have problems with. Atheist characters in fiction often end up as a cartoonish villain or they end up being "saved" by the most basic arguments, as if they'd never heard them before and didn't know anything about religion until the main character showed up. Sorry, pet peeve.
  9. clearly the people at dictionary.com need to be introduced to Brandon Sanderson so they can correct their mistake!
  10. it's metals, otherwise it would mostly only work on ferrous metals and it clearly works on almost any metal.
  11. well if he'd lived in a modern setting he might have had computer hacking skills, he seems like the type to be a computer geek.
  12. except Jasnah can't be just/confident, because she must be in an adjacent order to Shallan who's almost certainly in order 6, look at the corrected version of the chart and you'll see that just/confident is associated with order 2 which is not adjacent to order 6. I rather agree with the OP's placement of Jasnah personally, although you could make a case for order 5 as well.
  13. um I think it came up at one of the Alloy signings.
  14. you don't *need* ichor-alcohol to create a lifeless, it just makes them last longer, in this case he didn't really care as he was just using the squirrel to annoy people.
  15. Brandon has said that the recipient of the letter is in Dragonsteel, an unpublished as yet prequel series to all the other cosmere books.

haha, the devil's number is actually 616, so that should be .1616!
  17. I like Resolute/Builder for Dalinar myself.
  18. WoK is something like a hundred years after AoL actually, Warbreaker takes place at about the same time as AoL.
  19. specifically, Allomancy draws energy from an outward source (thus Preserving the user's own energy).
  20. well Hoid was doing a bit of it apparently, when telling his story to Kaladin, with the smoke images.
  21. well Brandon has said (I think) that there's more then a visual similarity between the smoke Nightblood leaks (which is corrupted Breath) and the smoke from people's eyes when they get killed by a Shardblade.
  22. well there are different levels and definitions of immortality, some would restrict the term "immortal" to beings that can't be killed no matter what, and sometimes can't even be hurt, others would use it for beings that don't age but can be killed, and there are some beings in stories that can be killed but just come back to life later on. Lots of people use the term "ageless" for beings that can die just like a regular person but won't die of old age. Basically you have to define what you mean when you say immortal.
  23. the terms End-Positive, End-Neutral, and End-Negative were used in the AA for Alloy of Law which was written by a 17th shard member (or possibly Hoid), so I suspect these are terms that can be used for magic systems across the Cosmere.
  24. maybe Adonalsium named it?
  25. she's going to have quadruplets actually. edit: also RJ wrote scenes at the very end of the book, not sure how big those scenes were though.
