  1. Rules Clarifications Q. If you use Banned Books to learn actions in another field, can you use multiple Archives action periods to use multiple abilities in the field you've learned? A. No. Archives actions are specific to Archives. You cannot use Archives actions for abilities gained with Banned Books. Only the first action period can be used for anything. All other actions labeled for specific fields can only be used for those fields. Q. Does your chance of learning a new name reset if you don't use the new name but only use the Name of the Wind? A. Once you learn a name, your chances of learning a new name reset. If you continue using Wind, you will not increase your chances of learning a third name until you use the new Name you learned. Q. Do stipends come every term or turn? A. Every term. Q. Can an El'the be promoted by an NPC Master to the Master before gaining 15 EP in that field? A. No. An El'the must have 15 EP in the field in order to become the Master of it. Q. Are coins transferable? A. No. The only things that are transferable are items. Services (like the bodyguard and assassin) are also non-transferable. Q. Does the Skindancer sabotage take an action? A. Yes. It takes the first action period (assuming you have more than one action period available). Q. Is it possible to visit Imre the first month? A. No. The earliest you can visit Imre is next month. Everyone starts at the University. However, if you'd like to visit Imre next month, you need to say that this month, so we can give you the information for Imre at the start of the turn. Q. When can we put in lodging orders? A. You can put them in whenever, but we don't actually need your orders until Month 2, since you spend the whole term at the lodging you've chosen (unless something happens to it mid-term). The cost for the lodging applies for the whole term and not per month.
  2. Term 1: Month 1 - A Silence of Three Parts The University of Imre lay in silence, and it was a silence of three parts. The first was the silence of things lacking; night had fallen over Temerant, and with it, the world had fallen still. Had there been students in the taverns, celebrating, or bemoaning their tuitions, perhaps they would have driven it away, scattering it like leaves in the wind. But there were none to be found. Had there been artificers, working into the night at their forges, their trade would’ve shattered the silence. If there had been troupes performing in the villages, singing songs and entertaining, they would’ve filled the silence with sounds of joy. But of course, there was no music. The second was smaller, and less obvious. It could be found in the whispered conversations of the Mews, in the darkened windows of Imre’s inns. A furtive, unquiet silence, a feeling of unease. Contained within the first, it made a harmony of sorts. The last was not a subtle thing, yet, one could spend weeks wandering the University and not notice it. It could be seen, if one was in the right place, in a small red stain, seeping under one of the doors in the Crockery. It could be felt in the frantic, surprising cogent writings of the room’s lone inhabitant. It was in the peaceful expression on her face, contrasted by the violence in the room around her. The woman lay on the floor in a pool of red, eyes empty and clouded. She lay with a perfect stillness, that could only mean one thing. The third silence was hers, just as the room was hers. It was the chill, empty silence of a life ended. Brean Bentley has been found dead, killed by the Skindancers! The first month of term one has begun! Game PMs are being sent out right now. Feel free to PM players at your whim.
  3. Oh, I remember you, Wonko. Though we never really played a game together, since I died night 1 of MR6... and you went inactive in LG12. Ah, well. This time around! And about compositions, yes. Those will work. If you could get a recording of it along with the composition itself (I know most composition software plays back what you've composed, but I'm not sure if it's possibly to record that play-back), that might be best, since I'm not sure all three of us have a way to listen to it (and I'm not sure you want the three of us judging it purely based off the aesthetic appearance of what it seems like it'll sound like. ). But yes, original compositions are well and good.
  4. I can't get five but these are what I can get:
  5. ....You realize that by taking the DP, you could end up expelled, right? And then that EP won't even matter at all. To answer the question, no. The Master has a lower opinion of you, and this affects his likelihood of elevating you. You'll have to do more to impress him to regain what you lost with the complaints. That's another thing--the Masters only put DP on people who have complaints filed against them. If you have no complaints, you don't have to worry about DP or losing your EP.
  6. Counts don't matter in this game. The eliminators can only win by killing everyone. Or destroying the University. Whichever they choose. So even if Maill and Alvron didn't count as alive, the eliminators still wouldn't be able to win, because Hellscythe, Kipper, and Ada are all still alive. Everyone who is not a Skindancer needs to be dead in order for the Skindancers to win with that win con (and the reason for that is because some of these powers could easily do a lot of damage single-handedly, so numbers don't matter. Particularly since even if the Skindancers can take over the vote, they still can't guarantee that someone will be expelled or anything like that. Death is the only way). Yes. Every turn, every player will have an insanity roll done for them. Those insanity rolls do not rollover to the next turn. If you fail your roll on any turn, you crack and go to the Crockery. Some fields mean that you will always have insanity points accrued every turn, just because of what fields these are.
  7. I park under the JFSB, and even when I've gotten there 10 before 7, they've never done anything to me. I usually get there right at 7, though, so, yeah. It's okay if you're a couple minutes late. Since Zach isn't sure he can make it, I'll bring the pizza. Don't expect Papa John's like that last time though. You might end up with Little Caesar's. I make no promises. Edit: okay, never mind. Expect Papa John's. Apparently the Jazz won last night so there's a promo code that discounts 50%, which means PJ's is cheaper than Little Caesar's. Excellent.
  8. I highly doubt Sazed is a descendant of TLR. Wax and/or Wayne could be, but even then, not necessarily. However, we know TLR has descendants alive in Era 2, and that there are many of them. As for how relevant they are to the plot of Era 2, I'm very skeptical.
  9. Okay, so you guys collectively had 13-14? Let's say 13 just in case. So here's 7 more. David Wenham - Lord of the Rings (Faramir) Keifer Sutherland - 24 Josh Brolin - The Goonies Joe Pantoliano - The Goonies Drew Barrymore - 50 First Dates Martha Plimpton - The Goonies Sean Faris - Forever Strong Um. Name 10 movies Ben Affleck has starred in that are already out as of February 2016.
  10. If you have two Talent Pipes you would get twenty talents per cycle. I'm not sure why someone would give you Talent Pipes if you had already had some, but in theory, if they did, it would double the benefit. You can only be a Master of one field at any given time. If you're asking about something else....PAFO. 1. It wasn't explicitly spelled out. Yes, you can freely PM people, but your PMs could get intercepted and spied on because you can't really trust your courier. 2. If you're referring to the Plum Bob, Maill would use it and target you. I would flesh out with Maill exactly how many questions he wants to ask and what those questions are. Once the questions have been okayed, the next turn, I would start up a PM between the two of you, he would ask his questions, and you have to answer truthfully. You cannot lie. 3. Again, if you're talking about the Plum Bob, you can't be evasive. However, the questions are very basic questions, and should be answerable in one word. Questions that require more explanation for their answers aren't basic questions, and therefore wouldn't pass muster with the GMs. 4. IP is shorthand for Insanity Points. It's the same for EP and DP (Elevation Points and Discipline Points, respectively). d8 and d10 are dice sides. So d8 is an 8-sided die and a d10 is a 10-sided die. Most of the references to the type of dice being used is to show the chance you have of having something happen. I think all references to the d8's were removed since those are specific to the GMs and the Eolian, but the d10 is for Insanity, and that's relevant to players because all you need is 12 IP to crack, and with a 10-sided die, if you're unlucky on the roll, and you've done basically anything to add to your Insanity that turn, you're basically certain to go insane. So it's to give the players the opportunity to decide if they want to do something that could send them to the Crockery.
