  1. LG49/AN3: Hour 6.5 - Engaged in Treason As you all know, Gavilar is dead! Amaram was ostracised, HOWEVER, the guards have decided to let everyone on the palace grounds back inside so as to keep a better eye on them. Therefore, Amaram, Darkness, and Liss are back! This turn will end Monday at 4PM MDT.
  2. LG49/AN3: Hour 5.5 - To Protect This Family First they ostracized their own kind, a Kholin even. Then, a lowly servant, merely doing her job. Now, they were booting a diplomat out. These lighteyes just couldn’t make up their minds. Who would they kick out next? A Herald? The Almighty himself? Thara shook her head as she watched the king point to the door and Darkness glare at him briefly before walking through it. The doors swung shut and the feast hall was silent. Almost ominously so. No, not ominous. Perfectly benign. Nothing is going to happen. Certainly not any more dead bodies. Two people dying in front of her was quite enough for Thara (yes, she knew Brightlord Sadeas hadn’t technically died in front of her, but she still counted it because she’d found him and that eye. She was quite certain she’d never get that image out of her mind no matter how long she lived). A man standing next to the king stumbled, dropping the wine he was holding. Thara recognized him. Oh, right. He’s the other one they were going to kick out. The one the Kholin heretic hates. Restares fell to the floor, gasping. A number of brightlords, the king included, crowded around him, and Thara lost her line of sight to the man. When the crowd parted again, he was still. Someone screamed. At first, Thara thought it was because of what just happened to Restares, but then she realized that no, the scream came from a different part of the feast hall. She turned and stared. Renarin Kholin put his hand up on the wall in the corner for support. He slipped to the floor, leaving a smear of blood from his hand all the way down the wall to where he lay. A knife protruded from his back. “No!” Adolin screamed from the middle of the feast hall, running towards his brother. But he was too late to save him. Darkness was ostracized! Renarin Kholin was killed! Restares was killed! Darkness: (3) - Amaram, Restares, Gavilar Restares: (3) - Jasnah, Ivory, Szeth
  3. LG49/AN3: Hour 5 - A Dying Request It took Thara far too long to find a change of clothes and wash up and even after she did, she swore she still smelled of wine. Maybe that was just in her head though. A girl could hope. She walked from the servant quarters to the kitchen to report back for duty, but she was accosted two corridors away by Torol Sadeas, who ran into her as they rounded a corner from opposite directions. “Take care where you walk.” “I apologize, highprince. It shan't happen again.” He turned on his heel and headed down the corridor. She had just turned the corner herself, continuing on to the kitchens when she heard him cry out. She whirled back and, checking around the corner, saw the highprince on the ground, still as death. Her eyes widened. Almighty, please not another dead body. She slowly walked toward him and when she got to where he lay, she knew her wish was in vain. There, firmly embedded in his right eye socket, was a dagger. Thara fainted. Torol Sadeas has been killed! Hour 5 has begun! It will end Saturday, the 29th of September, at 4:00 PM MDT (On phone so will edit a countdown in later)
  4. What you do is up to you, so I'm indifferent. Now, if you're asking if we'll help you keep track of this, absolutely not. We've got quite enough complication already with this game. Don't need more, thank you very much.
  5. LG49/AN3: Hour 4 - A Change in the Air Thara found it difficult to walk across the room. She heard the lighteyes talking about time fabrials and she just had to shake her head. What would they think of next? As if her life wasn’t hard enough. She heard a noise behind her, and she swung around, just as a man collapsed to the ground, face-up. Thara screamed as she saw the burnt-out eyes. She didn’t drop the platter though. She was nothing if not a good servant. Thaidakar was killed! Hour 4 has begun! It will end Tuesday, the 25th of September, at 4:00 PM MDT (11:00 PM BST)
  6. This cycle is really truly now closed. No false alarms this time. I promise.
  7. Cancel that. We got the rollover half done and then things got busy and will be busy for us for the next few days. We are therefore reopening this cycle and extending to Sunday. We are also giving everyone one additional action for this turn only.
  8. Two reminders: if you roleplay, you'll be rewarded and today does have a lynch. Follow up to that last point: There may be some actions that increase your chances of being ostracized. Anyone ostracized in this fashion will have that happen independently of the lynch. Sort of like how in a normal game, lynches kill, but they're not the only way you can die.
  9. We should probably figure out when we want to meet. Though I'll bet most, if not all, of us will be at the Legion release, so maybe...not have one this month because of that?
  10. Less than 4 hours left! We haven't quite hit 25 players yet, but we are very close and with the pinch hitters who are willing to join, we'll even have a couple extra to actually pinch hit. Couple other notes: it might take us a bit to get everything sent out. We hit a small snag with the anonymous accounts today in getting the names changed, but that shouldn't take too long to resolve and even if it does, it won't impact the game start time. We've talked and have decided to open up PMs rather than have them closed at the start. We will have a spec doc, but we haven't set it up yet. That's on the agenda for later tonight. If you want a link or have requested a link and we don't send you one by tomorrow morning (MDT), PM one of us and we'll get it to you. That's all that I can think of right now, but get excited. This will be fun. >:)
  11. Welcome to Alethkar! Alethi and Parshendi alike have gathered for a night of celebration: they’ve just signed a peace treaty between their peoples! What could go wrong? GMs: Wilson, Orlok, Elbereth IM: Alvron In this anonymous game, each account will take the name of a character from the Stormlight Archive prologue (though we added some characters who may or may not have been there, to flesh out the numbers a bit). This means you will be playing as an SA character. Woo-hoo! This is a partial blackout game. Here are the things we can tell you: Each character has multiple win conditions. These win conditions may or may not be primary (if you have a secondary win condition, it’s merely a bonus if you achieve it, but will not affect whether you win the game or not). The lynch does not kill. Insead, lynched players are cast out of the palace. Ostracized players can no longer interact with those inside the palace, but they will have access to a doc with all other ostracized players and can interact with them. Every third cycle, there will be a vote among ostracized players about who should reenter the palace. Players who remain outside will still have things to do and can still possibly win (though it’s much more difficult). Ostracism is not the end of the game. (Ostracism functions sort of like Elantris in LG12/LG44) PMs are closed. Everyone has access to a set of general actions right from the start of the game. These actions include: vote manipulation, attacks, protects, roleblocks, redirects, action spying, sending anonymous messages, hiding, and drinking. Not all of these actions are guaranteed to succeed, and some of these actions may have partially negative consequences when used. We will reveal more a little more about each of these at the start of the game. Every player will be in multiple docs. Roleplay will be rewarded. There are 25 characters; however, we do not necessarily need all 25 in the game if we don’t get 25 players. The game can function well enough with 20 (though we’d like 25!). If we get more than 25 people signed up, we will randomly select who will play and the rest will be on the pinch hitter list to replace any inactive players. You can sign up either in this thread (don’t create a character, obviously) or by PMing the GMs. Unless otherwise stated, rollover will start at 1 AM MDT (8 AM BST). We expect it to take approximately 1.5 hours to figure everything out and start the next turn. Some rollovers might be shorter. Some might be longer. The game will start at 1 AM MDT on Wednesday, 5 September. Quick Links:
  12. What I mean is that the one at BYU is more for Utah County in general. One of the regulars started coming when he was a high school student in American Fork. We had a Sharder visit the area from England and he came to a meeting. I don't even think there's any particular reason for it to always meet at BYU, outside of it having been the most convenient location for some members (since they haven't had a car). We could meet elsewhere in Provo/Orem. Since it looks like your goal is less about having an official UVU Cosmere Club and more just meeting Sharders/Sanderfans in real life, there's already a group formed where you can do exactly that and you're completely welcome. @Sunbird @Taliax @Slowswift Would you guys be okay if we met somewhere other than BYU? Tag anyone else I may have forgotten (I know there are a few).
  13. The one for BYU isn't an offical BYU club. It's less "BYU Cosmere Club" and more "Provo area Cosmere Club" since not everyone who attends is a student at BYU. I'm a regular attendee and I've never been a student at BYU (Provo) and now I actually live closer to UVU than I do to BYU.
  14. So shall we start figuring out a September meeting? Unless we want to try to get an August one in?
  15. Yeah, though having gotten my schedule now, I'm working Thursday night but not Wednesday and probably not Friday. So I'm available Monday evening, all day Wednesday and Friday, or Saturday evening (yes, yes, I know I said I'm never free Saturday evening. This is a rare case of me opening Saturday rather than closing).
  16. About this, I'm not changing any of the profile pictures until I have avatars of all of them, so
  17. My work schedule is still fairly erratic from day to day and week to week. I'm generally off Mondays (or at least Monday nights by a reasonable time if I work) and am never free Saturday evenings. The rest of the days are up in the air, though I'm pretty sure I'll have both Thursday and Friday off in about two weeks, so maybe one of those two days?
  18. Yeah, I don't think the snap was meant to be a delay until others could find a solution. I think he thought that was the solution, born about by terrible logic: I had this idea to save my planet → No one listened to me (in fact, they called me mad) and they came up with their own ideas → Their ideas didn't work and the still world died. And now he's had who knows how long to become more and more convinced that his idea would've saved Titan. I think it's completely believable that a "mad" individual as the sole survivor of his race would, given oodles of time, come to this conclusion on a universal scale if he was already thinking along these lines before the fall of his world. We only have Thanos' word about that. I hesitate (strongly) at taking him at his word about that, because he's also the person who said he'd rest after dusting half the universe, watching the sun rise on a grateful universe, and I'm pretty sure that the universe isn't actually grateful to him, yet his little smile at the end certainly indicates that he believes they are. So yeah. Thanos is unreliable, to say the very least. Until I see for myself that Gamora's homeworld is the thriving paradise Thanos claims it is, I'm not going to believe it. But I'll believe that he believes it. I'm with Kaymyth on this. I doubt the MCU is going to go into depth on the extent of the fallout of the dustings, but logically, it would be bad. Beyond just what she's already mentioned, who knows how many world leaders have been dusted. Total anarchy doesn't seem too far out there, given how bad things probably are. Also, one important thing to note: killing half the universe =/= killing half of each planet. I don't think the snap necessarily dusted half of each world. Remember when Thanos told Tony that he'd spare half of humanity and hopefully the survivors would remember Stark? Yeah, someone who's planning on dusting half of each world wouldn't need to make that comment because saving half of humanity would just sort of be a thing already. I don't think he decided that half of humanity would survive until Tony earned his respect. Who knows what would've happened had that not been the case.
  19. When do we want to meet up this month/do we want to meet up this month?
