  1. You're not the only one. I laughed pretty hard when I saw that the only vote thus far was you, for yourself. And it's not even 8 where I am. So I can't blame tiredness.
  2. "Um." Wilson steps up hesitantly and points to the wall where the message lay. "I don't want to speak out about something ridiculous, and maybe this is just me, but...it seems like there might be some hidden messages in here. I know a thing or two about messages you see, and sometimes people get clever with their codes. "The reason I bring this up is because I noticed the capitalized words form a separate, coherent thought. Death wants vengeance first," she says, pointing to each of the words separately. Turning back to the group, she continues, "But what if that's just to clue us into looking deeper?" She stops and bites her lip, looking around the room to see what the rest of the crew thinks. Or maybe I'm thinking about that WAY too hard.
  3. More chances to put my English degree to use? I'm all over that. Plus, I'm not sure I'd have time to really go all-out on fixing the in-depth articles, but I do want to help with this. And I've actually worked on the summaries before. Granted, that was a while ago, but still. Editing is pretty easy.
  4. Except that it would just be showing one power of somewhere between 7-9, and it would be a horrible way (in a clever sort of way for the Inquisitor) to mess with our heads for the rest of the game. From then on out, we'd be worried about our votes being rioted similarly. I really hope the Inquisitor doesn't have a power like that, because if he does, now would be the perfect time to use it. He needs someone helping him out soon, just in case he gets caught while waiting for us to kill a Misting. We haven't offered him anyone, so it would make sense (if he could do it) for him to mass riot the votes, kill someone today and hope it's a Misting, Spike someone tonight, and get them on his side. Let's just hope that doesn't happen. Otherwise we're going to have to figure out someway to counteract a mass riot. That said, I doubt Meta would give the Inquisitor anything over 3-4 (assuming they have the ability to mass riot). Anything more would make them too powerful. Still, even 3-4 is a large number to try to account for. Obviously not with our numbers currently, but give it a few days and nights and it's gonna suck.
  5. You're not that kind. There are most definitely diabolical twists in there that we cannot begin to imagine. The Inquisitor probably only has Allomantic abilities, but I'm betting they are significantly stronger than the ones the villagers have. And the mechanics will be slightly different as well. So while the Inquisitor can only use one Night power per night, it would make a great deal of sense to use a Coppercloud as much as possible (particularly on this first night), especially if their coppercloud hides them more than just "undetectable." Which, I'm betting it does. If they have one. I think, to be on the safe side, the Seeker can't really trust a Seek that comes back as regular villager. They can only really trust something that comes back with a power. And even that will only last until we lose a Misting.
  6. For the most part, I agree with this. My only hesitation is that we don't know what powers the Inquisitor has. What if they have something that messes with Seeking? Making them appear like a regular villager, when they're not? We could, quite unintentionally, end up including the Inquisitor in any "trusted group" if they do have some power like this. Our best chance right now is to not kill anyone today, because the odds that we'll kill a Misting are incredibly high. And if we do, that gives the Inquisitor a chance to Spike someone. Sure, someone will probably die tonight, and they'll probably be a Misting, and that will give the Inquisitor the chance to Spike someone tomorrow, but at least we won't have an extra enemy quite as soon. And we'll have the night to give us something to work with. Lastly, Claincy, your hidden messages are, quite frankly, hilarious. Really hope you don't die soon. I like the amusement.
  7. If he does any more signings down in Utah Valley before the Words of Radiance release, I'll try to get a direct answer out of him on this. Recorded. Just so we have exactly what he says. I personally believe that Hoid's writing to REDACTED, because it simply makes the most sense, but I'll try to get direct confirmation on it. And that he (the Dragon) is from Yolen. And on Yolen. Of course, if he doesn't have anything until WoR, it's anyone's game then (or, at least anyone who goes to the release).
  8. I absolutely loved TNotW the first time I read it. Then with WMF, I thought it was really good, but it dragged in places--particularly with Felurian. Then I reread it. And I realized the Felurian part wasn't nearly as drawn out as I'd initially thought it was, after the first read-through. I almost love it as much as TNotW. The trilogy is brilliant thus far, and I really can't wait to read Doors of Stone. Regardless of how long it takes him to finish it or how long it is. My thoughts on a second trilogy. A large part of me says "heck yes!" and the smaller part of me goes "But....it takes him about 4 years to write a book. And I love this story, and I want it all NOW!".....but I've always been convinced that the story of how Kote becomes Kvothe again, and the aftermath of telling this story to the Chronicler (particularly with the Chandrian), is going to be at least another 800 pages. And with how much that has to happen to show how Kvothe initially turns into Kote? Yeah, there's no way he can fit all that (Kvothe=Kote, Kote+dealing with story aftermath=Kvothe)into one book. Not. Possible. Also, Netalia Lackless. Yes. I'm absolutely onboard with this. I'm also absolutely onboard with Kvothe killing the king, thereby putting Ambrose on the throne. For a while, I thought it would be Ambrose he kills, but I like the irony of this much more. And it's a little (read: a lot) more appropriate for the role that Ambrose tends to take in Kvothe's life.
  9. Although Mi'ch already knows where I hail from, I'll report anyway. 6 years in the Seattle area. 20(ish) years in South Central Idaho (with a little smattering for college in Eastern Idaho). 7-8 months in Provo, Utah (where I currently live). Regardless of traffic, I'm about 5 minutes away from BYU. Which means that when I go to the midnight release and get in line days before, I'll still be able to go home, take a shower, and be back in line before the allotted hour of being away from the line is up (I'm pretty sure that's how it goes).
  10. I was born with chocolate in my veins. I'm convinced of this fact. Also, your job is amazing. I'm a little jealous. On-topic, my profile picture is a little caricature of myself a friend of mine drew. The writing off to the side names me the Ruler of the World, and I even have a little peon slaving away bringing me books. I love it.
  11. Karata? Not sure about the whiny part, but I'd definitely say her end was messy.
  12. And now that I'm almost done reading Mistborn Heaven, I have one comment to make to Kurk: You totally should've pulled us (The Grand Coalition) all aside. If anything would've convinced me to rethink my thoughts about Beetle, it would've been that. We might've actually stood a chance at winning then. But alas.... And Honorary Spiked? You're right. I probably would've enjoyed that title. Too bad I'm pretty sure they relinquished that title from me the second I called out Mat. From what I gathered in their doc, they weren't happy that I actually stopped helping them.... Darnam: I'm sorry. You weren't controlling their vote. They were letting it happen (Quite happily, in fact). I get that now. I got that a couple days ago, at about the same time I realized they both were Spiked. Not that it matters. We still lost.
  13. Um. No. I'm feeling pretty jerked around. Especially after reading their whole little communication. I was an idiot. Granted, it was simply because I trusted Beetle who was clearly not to be trusted, but still. Other than that one little gaffe (okay, it was a big one, I'll admit that), my reasoning for everything else was pretty sound. Also, I want to say that I did start suspecting Beetle towards the end. I just wanted one more night to confirm it. Oh, none taken. Also, sorry for voting for you. I knew that was a terrible move. Really shouldn't have done it. In other comments, I share Quiver's sentiment about being skeptical of certain Spiked from here on out. While he's mistrustful of Aether, I'm pretty sure I will never trust another comment bartbug makes. Ever again. And I'm in for another round (even if certain members might prefer I stayed out of it considering how detrimental I was to my side). I may have been an idiot this time around, but it was also my first forum-based game. Can't get better without practice.
  14. All right. I still feel like this is a bad idea, but united is more important. Maill.
  15. This is exactly what I'm worried about. We've killed so many on our side already, I don't want to go for someone I'm not certain is Spiked. Amd I'm not certain about Maill. We don't know how many Spiked there are and although we've gone through most of this game saying there's probably 3, maybe 4, there is a small, very remote, chance that there's only 2. The only reason they'd have a glimmer of a hope is because they had the Mistborn AND the Smoker. Is this scenario likely? Not really. But it IS a possibility. And if Mat's the last one, the game will end the second we kill him. If it doesn't then there's one more, and we'll be down another Villager, but they will also be down a Spiked. Less on their side. Which we need right now. I'll cast my vote in the morning. I'm going to bed right now, but I'll check in here before I head to work. And I'll vote whichever way the majority still is. I'd feel most comfortable voting for Mat. But if, after discussion and thought, everyone still wants to go after Maill, I'll do it.
  16. I guess I was just hoping that maybe they'd follow the same tactic and keep you alive like they had been, but of course they're not going to. Not only are they down one, they're down their Smoker. They have no protection. And I agree Gambles. We need to be united. Your soothing will help if there's any division, but...we don't know what the Spiked still have. I think a part of me is really hoping that there are only two Spiked, since one of them ended up being the Mistborn. Wishful thinking, I know. I just don't want to go back to square one to figure out who's playing spy. Basically, if everyone wants to go after Maill instead of Mat, I'm in. I'd prefer Mat, because he's surefire, but I get the strategy of saving him til later as well. Find the one (or two, heaven forbid) we don't know and then save him for last.
  17. You're not the only one. I seriously thought our group was clean. Although I will say that I'm extremely glad we brought Kurk in rather than Mat. That would've been a feather in the Spiked's cap we never would've lived down. Gambles and Clancy: Maill actually was part of the group. Mat wasn't (if you couldn't tell from my comment above). Personally, I think it's best if we go after Mat right now. Take out the one we know has to be Spiked. Plus, that'll give Beetle time to Seek out one of us that he hasn't already, and hopefully provide us with a target tomorrow. Or at least a 50/50 shot at guessing who to go after tomorrow. May sound foolish, but I'm willing to trust anyone Beetle has Seeked. As of right now, that's pretty much just Gambles and Clancy. Please note, however, that I'm not asking for you guys to trust me in return. He hasn't Seeked me yet (I'd volunteer myself, but I think there's a higher priority target (Maill). Unless you guys really want me Seeked. Perfectly fine with that too). Yeah, so. I think killing Mat today, and then Seeking either Maill, Darnam, or me tonight is our best bet.
  18. Seriously? Well. That means that our initial guess of Mat on day one was right. Shall we go after him then? The only problem I see with this is that Aether called Mat out. However, that was probably only more psychological games. He knew we were on his tail and had guessed his ways, so he claimed suspicion on his fellow Spiked.
  19. We finally got one off them! yes! Granted, that was quite a price to pay. Rioter AND the Coinshot. I was worried about when the Mistborn would draw the Coinshot. However, now he's wide open and ready to be Seeked. That almost makes it worth it. Almost. And I might as well get started with the accusations. Clancy! EDIT: removed color (will fix the lack of green when I'm on a device other than my phone). EDIT2: Fixed color.
  20. Ish. I wouldn't say it was really early on though. It was the second day after everyone was going between him and Edgar. He had the majority of votes, and I just made it clear that I didn't believe he was Spiked. I didn't really think Edgar was either, and I would've preferred not killing either one of them (I stated this right at the beginning of my first post that day. That I would've liked to do Kurk's idea. But I knew that was't going to happen. Too many people wanted one of them dead. So I voted for the one I was less sure of. Simple as that). I've been steadfast in my points, which I can see how that could be perscribed as a Spiked attribute. It's also an attribute for honest people who really believe that they're right. I know which one of those I am. But that's not the point of this game. It's whether you believe me. Or not.
  21. It's interesting. I've been making my own list, and it's very different from yours, Dyring. Wilson: Regular Villager Gambles: Regular Villager Darnam: Regular Villager Maill: Regular Villager Beetle: Villager Seeker Kurk: Villager Rioter (probably, but he could be the Villager Thug. And yes. I did just say "the" villager Thug) Mat: Villager Soother Porridge: Villager Coinshot Aether: Spiked Mistborn Clancy: Spiked Smoker Dyring: Spiked Thug After reading back over this entire game in the past day and a half, I can practically guarantee Aether and Clancy are Spiked. I had extremely strong suspicions toward Dyring as well, but he pretty much just confirmed it by clearing both Aether and Clancy. To be noted: I might've mixed up Aether and Clancy's roles. One of them is definitely the Spiked Smoker. The other is the Mistborn. I expect this to kill me either today or tonight. When it comes out that I am a Villager, all of you real Villagers out there, remember who I've listed as Spiked. You've gotta start banding together if you want to win this. Because they're pulling the wool over your eyes hardcore. EDIT: Realized I forgot to vote. Dyring He's already lost one life. Might as well take the second now and reveal him for his real orientation. That'll leave the Coinshot available to go after one of the real threats.
  22. Um. Check your PM's. I'm not putting that kind of information here where the Spiked can see it in the middle of the night. I'd rather not beg them to kill me.
  23. I'm using Windows 7 on both my laptop (which I'm on now) and my work computer. Chrome on both as well.
  24. If he Seeks you correctly, I'm with you all the way. Right now, I have my suspicions of what you are, but I'm not going to announce them here. I'm just worried he's going to die before being able to reveal that he is, in fact, the Seeker. Then I won't know if I can really trust you, Maill (since I still have minor misgivings, just like I have minor misgivings about Beetle. I'm not 100% certain about either of you. It's more like 90%). Assuming Beetle survives the night, and he Seeks Maill correctly, I concur with the vote idea. And since this is an unofficial vote, emotional allomancy won't play into it at all. As long as the villagers all stick together, we can sift (or Seek) out the Spiked. We just need the Lurcher to protect him so the Spiked can't kill him. Moving past that, I just took a look back over the roles, since we're down 4 players now. With 9 roles, that leaves the possibility for 7 regular villagers, without duplicate roles. There's no way we started with that many regular villagers. I'm betting we started with 4--the exact same amount as there are Spiked (that number makes sense). I can even hazard a guess at who all 4 are. Jason (obviously), Darnam, me, and Gambles. There might be a 5th. But I doubt it. Other villager roles: 2 Seekers (down 1), 1 Coinshot, 1 Lurcher. There could be a duplicate in either of those, but I kind of doubt it at this point. Either: 1 Tineye and 1 Smoker, both were Villagers. I'm betting there's another Smoker, though, and he's Spiked (which is probably the inconclusive thing Edgar was talking about in the first person he Seeked. I just wish he had've told us who, because I'm wondering if it was the Spiked Smoker, or the person the Spiked Smoker was including in his cloud). 1 Mistborn, who is probably Spiked, but there's still a slim chance he's a Villager. And out of the Thug, Rioter, and Soother, one of those has a duplicate, and I'm betting the Villagers have at least one of the emotional allomancy roles. Probably just one though, because I think we have the Thug. If I'm wrong, and the Spiked have the Thug and the Mistborn, we're screwed. Just saying.
