  1. *****Puts on resident meteorology hat (Wayne would be jealous) ***** Technically, the stretch of water would only really likely replenish the storm if the water is rather warme because the rate of evaporation is much higher with warm water relative to colder water. Colder climes don't feed storms as well as more tropical climes. This is why we see more hurricane activity in the US in the Atlantic than the Pacific. There is plenty of warm water feeding moisture into the tropical depressions that develop in the mid-Atlantic/Caribbean/Gulf. The Pacific, by comparison, is much cooler and we see fewer tropical depressions and hurricanes in the continental western US because they stall out over Baja, California and lose strength. One thing to remember, though, with the Everstorm: normal meteorology probably doesn't matter. I doubt this storm will lose a lot of strength over Aimia or need to rebuild too much over the narrow straight to Shinovar. It'll most likely be pretty dang devastating.

  3. Is it an oathstone?
  4. But I specifically asked before if it is "a type of fabrial" and you said yes. That's why we've all been guessing fabrials.
  5. So, it sounds like it IS a fabrial we rarely see. Is it a fabrial used or owned by a POV character?
  6. Is the fabrial an obscure one that we see rarely, like Lirin's clock fabrial? Also...I feel like a lot of the fabrials we have guessed are out of Cosmere too: the fan-made soulcaster, our elevators, heating devices, giant bows, telegraphs (spanreeds), etc.
  7. Is it an altering fabrial like a heating fabrial?
  8. Is it the Archer-stand fabrial, which is really just a lift?
  9. Kobold, I edited what you really meant to say.
  10. And then Kobold will Ponify it. It'd be the cutest High Epic ever. (Assuming Water Bear would be a High Epic given Tardigrade's insane real-world abilities.) In the mean time, instead of a Ponified Water Bear, feast your eyes upon this specimen:

  13. Is it a spanreed? Is it a grandbow?
  14. Now this...this I like! If the Shardpools are so close together then Ruin and Preservation can easily counter each other's powers around Luthadel. Thus no daymist and no large numbers of snappings. Both then have more influence on the edges of the empire because it's more difficult for them to counter each other's power but probably rather easy to leak their powers without much resistance from the other. Kind of like a game of Risk. Asia is so large it's harder to defend. Too much surface area to cover you end up spreading yourself thin.
  15. Is it a type of fabrial? Does it come from a planet where there is still a living shard?
  16. Ha. I don't actually believe what I wrote, but wanted to just throw some idea out there as I thought about the welll well well. Nonetheless, the daymists are a manifestation of Preservation, no? And the Well of Ascension is Preservation's shardpool. Thus, the daymists starting on the edges and creeping inwards actually fits my "theory" with the inverse relationship. As the well begins to fill, the daymists start showing up, but on the edges of the realm. It's a direct manifestation/correlation of the filling well and causes the snapping.
  17. All I'd like to add is that you have to be careful adding things to the wiki and that the MAG is NOT canon. The MAG does things differently in some cases so that it'll work in-game or to explain unknown attributes, like feruchemical nicrosil. I actually think it's irresponsible to be changing the wiki on pure speculation and what the MAG contains. If we don't have a WOB or source directly from the book, it shouldn't be in the wiki (and honestly, sometimes even WOB is contradictory).
  18. I hate to break it to you spencer, but Brandon usually writes things for a reason. "Adds more suspense" seems like a cop out for him. Oudeis: This is merely speculation...but it seems to work with an inverse relationship relative to the strength of the previous exposure to investiture. The outer edges of the Empire are less influenced directly by investiture because they're so far away from the Well...what if it means that small additional amounts of investiture will influence the people on these edges first because they have never been truly acclimated to the effects of the investiture? As the Well begins to fill, the initial "reach" of the investiture expands greatly, but since these outer areas never were touched by it that much in the first place, they'll snap quicker because they don't have an "immunity" from the influence. As the outer areas snap, the investiture can begin to pool closer to the actual Well and thus will now snap these people because a relatively larger influx of investiture is now influencing these inner communities. Again...pure speculation with nothing to back this. But we see inverse relationships quite frequently in math and science. So why not with the science of snapping? I feel like I could write a mathematical proof for this, using these assumptions. Maybe it's time to ask Prof. Chaos for help in that endeavor?
  19. It is true. You can also get a copy of White Sand. Email him through his website and request it. I got them in a day after I emailed him about 6 months ago.
  20. I recall a WOB where he said that Vasher could use Stormlight to Awaken things but he hasn't figured it out yet. I can't find it, but I have found this WOB that shows he can use it like Breath: source #4
  21. I recommend that you guys read this thread on whether or not Hoid is Returned. The consensus is that since he predates the Shattering, there is no need for him to be Returned. Also, only Returned have a Divine Breath, because a Divine breath is a splinter of Endowment. Normal mortals do not have any such splinter of Endowment. The Divine Breath is what makes a Returned, well, Returned. Iron Eyes, read all of the references to a Divine Breath on Theoryland. Here's some choice bits:

  23. Sixth of the Dusk. Now get off my lawn! In all reality, I am like him in that I begrudgingly accept change and I love the outdoors. In another life I'd be a back country tour guide. I love being out in nature by myself as well: for my 21st birthday, instead of going out with friends I went on a four day backpacking trip by myself in a part of the Sierra Nevada mountains called "Desolation Wilderness". T'was amazing and a great way to come to grips with what I had accomplished to date in my life and to allow me to meditate on where I wanted to go.

Next photo shoot we'll do it at the National Cathedral. Kredik Shaw's remains were just conveniently located SiMon the Kandra wolfhound would've loved to explore at Kredic Shaw too, but he was too busy jumping across the roofs of DC in his dreams. Too bad your knife isn't as readily visible. Here's one shot of you with the knife in all of it's glory, but the tassels aren't as obvious: I also wish we had fog in DC. San Francisco would be a great place for a Mistborn photoshoot.
