  1. If you guys have any more suggestions keep 'em coming. I have about half the chart filled in, but am still missing plenty.
  2. Thanks all. I'll be sure to post the results if/when I actually manage to finish this. I like a lot of the ideas you are throwing out. I started this when I realized I had started calling Gold/Gold compounders Immortals.
  3. Are there any canonical Twinborn names other than Crasher (Feruchemical iron/Allomantic steel)? I'm taking it on myself to write a table, mainly due to extreme boredom, and want to make sure all the canonical ones are in place. Also looking for cool suggestions so post away.
  4. Wow! That is amazing. And completely makes sense too. Mind blown. "Always look both ways when crossing a chasm." "Remember to always wear clean underwear."
  5. I really hope they keep the pattern of actual book titles. Along those lines, Stones Unhallowed very well could be a book to the Shin. I really like that title. I'd say The Gathering Storm, but he's already used that
  6. I don't know if 17th Shard would be big enough to contain the rage that would be spewing from all corners if they actually started filming something. We would rip it apart frame by frame and paper our desktops with its entrails.
  7. Well, I'm a singer so Cadmium is really tempting. It would be very impressive to hold that final note out for 3 or 4 full minutes without a breath. But seriously I have to go with Steel. Speed is an amazing thing and very universal. Plus I'm pretty sedentary most of the time so storing it wouldn't be that difficult.
  8. I hope it's not next gen exclusive. I really have no desire to buy either a PS4 or Xbox One. Both systems look like absolute crap.
  9. Sorry to whoever he took to replace me. This was my first game and it was definitely fun. I'll certainly be back for more in future.
  10. Thank you all those who found quotes. I could not find my hard copy of Warbreaker anywhere for the life of me. I normally listen to the audiobook, but that's rather difficult to pull quotes from.
  11. I like the idea of Lerasium spikes stealing Age. Great twist on Preservation. Another good one would be muscle memory, literally stealing someone else's proficiency at something.
  12. I was not aware of the WoB that said you could only burn energy from a spike that is yours as if it is a metal mind. This makes very little sense with Hemalurgy as the entire point of Hemalurgy is to transfer power from one to another. It hints at more hidden misunderstandings of the magic in my mind.
  13. No. You just keep insisting a position that makes no sense and is rather clearly contradicted by the text.
  14. The logic is pretty sound here. I'm looking at you Satrams. PS: Panda don't forget to green out your original Willa vote if you want to change as well.
  15. Atium is actually a pretty close equivalent economically speaking to diamonds in the real world. All supplies tightly controlled by a single party to hyper inflate the value of something that is useful but not particularly rare until the entire world is convinced that it is far rarer than it truly is.
  16. I for one am very curious to see what Araris has to say on this subject. His name has come up a few times and there has been some speculation but not much response from him.
  17. That only makes sense if you also believe that the command "grab things" is only logical if you want the rope to grab everything in the world. It simply is not the case.
  18. Do we have a WoB on what would happen if you attempted to spike an attribute out of an individual that he currently had obtained via another spike? For example if you attempted to use a Steel spike to take what you thought was a Thug's Allomantic pewter when actually the "Thug" only had the power from another spike. Would it work at all? Would the Investiture travel from one spike into another?
  19. Not saying it's a democracy, but when you're all alone arguing against a position that no one else seems to support it may be time to reevaluate that position. If your interpretation were correct then almost none of Vasher's commands would have worked. It simply doesn't follow with what it says in the book. The interpretation of the command is in the mind of the Awakener normally, not the object. The reason the rope grabbed the tree and Vivenna is because she didn't properly visualize the intention, not because of the vague command. She changed to saying her targets due to her own lack of practice. This gave a greater surety that the objects would do what she wanted but gave the objects far less flexibility in what they could do as well.
  20. You get triple compounding by burning a metal for allomantic power that is already imbued with both a Feruchemical and Hemalurgic charge.
  21. Very true. That statement is one of I would wish to take that path if I were suddenly teleported to Roshar, not one of a person growing up in that culture which would instill very different values.
  22. I think you need to read the book again. You're kind of the only one arguing your position. Also how do you manage to misinterpret the fact that Vasher uses the command "Grab things" as meaning that he needs to name specific targets? I have no idea how that leap of illogic is even possible.
  23. I remember that quote, but I took that as specific to Inquisitors who have so many spikes that they would now die without them given their placements, the death caused by the loss of the spike, not necessarily by burning it.
  24. Have we ever asked the question about the potential of compounding Hemalurgy? I wonder what would happen if a Hemalurgist used a charged metalmind as a spike? Even more potential, I believe we have a WoB somewhere saying that for Allomancy metal does not necessarily need to be swallowed, just must be inside. What would happen if a spiked Allomancer tried to burn their spike? If possible, this could create the potential for a triple compounder, right? Take a Feruchemist, have him store speed in a steel spike, spike someone else with that charged metalmind spike, then use that double charged spike to grant that feruchemist Allomantic steel, then have him burn the already double charged Steel spike for Allomantic steel.
