I'm looking forward to some more insight on the Heralds and their appearances, though I don't think Brandon is ready to reveal those just yet (Maybe Shalash or Nalan, though?). However, I don't think there is anything he can put in there that I will actually dislike. Shallan's Blade seems an awesome candidate, as are the Honorblades and Urithiru's fauna. Have I mentioned that I absolutely can't wait for this book?!?

I wonder is that means there won't be a map inside the book itself. In Alcatraz's case, there was never a map to begin with, so... If it does take the place of the inner map, what do you think they will substitute it with?

You forget your own name, one of your limbs becomes a separate entity with its own mind (hey, actually that sounds like a cool story to write, brb )

He did this for Alcatraz, as well, and it looked great! Can't wait to see if he'll end up doing it for the SA series as well As for Michael Whelan being the artist, I wouldn't say it's a forgone conclusion, but the chances are very, very good. Barring some sort of company or personal issue i would assume that he would be the artist for the Oathbringer cover.

I don't think anything is new, though I am by no means sure. I would wait, though. There's a leather-bound edition coming out soon, curtesy of Brandon and crew. More information will probably come then.

It could be something like the law we have that nothing can be eradicated completely. If a Shard has been splintered, or even if there was never any Shard there at all, everything still leads back to Adonalsium. Therefore, everything has at least some form of Investiture. That being said, the reason magic cannot be used--only interacted with (WoB)--in Shardless worlds may be because that connection is not being renewed. Only the aftereffects are left over.

Awesome! It's always cool to see the beginnings of a new Sanderfan, which you obviously already are. If I can recommend his short stories and novellas, they really are a great, yet quick, look into some of the other worlds of the Comere (that is seriously one of the only times you'll hear 'Sanderson' and 'short' in the same sentence). Oh, and try out Alcatraz vs. The Evil Librarians if you have a spare moment. That's his middle grade series. They're not for everyone, but still worth a try if you're looking for something a little more lighthearted. Here's the Warbreaker link, by the way: http://www.brandonsanderson.com/drafts/warbreaker/Warbreaker_hardcover_1st_ed.pdf

So My Calculus 3 Instructor is a Sanderfan...
Tariniel replied to Glamdring804's topic in General Brandon Discussion
That is so cool! I wish I had a teacher who made Calculus this interesting lol -
I seem to recall this as well, though I can't for the life of me find his exact quote... He mentioned something about the plantations being named after the noble that controls them, and the two Eons could simply belong to cousins, or something like that.

Thanks @BeskarKomrk! Added in the apparent familiarity with the heralds to Nalan's section as well

Then what would the "if he ever stops drooling" refer to? Also, what do you mean by Jezrien being dark skinned? I wasn't aware there was a theory that he wasn't...

We can assume it is some sort of corrupted form of Investiture, likely Stormlight, as we are on Roshar after all. Don't know how much more we actually know, however. Brandon's been really closed up about the mystery sphere. One thing people have been calling it is the Voidsphere, as Brandon said we were close when asked if Odium had Invested it.

It's not a separate book, it's a short story. I get what you mean, however.

I just read over my previous post @Oversleep, and it absolutely makes no sense. Sorry, been studying for tests all week. I'm really tired...

Yes. It is actually described in that story to be a destroyed world. Something incinerated the earth, and so they live in this floating, upside down city. Seems like something happened there. However, if you don't think that something has to do with Roshar, why did Brandon include it in the Rosharan planetary system?

Is there a mention of Windrunners in general using Shardplate? Seems strange considering they fly through the air and are generally moving quickly due to their Lashes. I think Szeth mentions somewhere it interferes with Lashing as well. As for Kaladin himself, Shardplate is a large part of the crack in his Spiritweb, much more so than the Blade, in my opinion. I honestly don't see him using Shardplate (at least the type we know of) any time soon. It just is so against his character...

This is a really astute observation. Is using an excess amount of Stormlight considered a transition from the Spiritual to the Physical, however?

That quote from @The One Who Connects practically confirms they're all from the same place. Do we know this for sure? I thought that was just the people's interpretation of the Heralds' torture... Also, keep in mind that Vorin teachings have twisted a lot of the facts, so nothing can be taken at face value here. I do still feel like Ashyn plays into this all somehow. It is the third planet in this system, after all.

Just wanted to point something out: Do we know for sure they are all from the same place? Seems to be the obvious assumption, but... Also, seeing as they live on Roshar and spend 'death' on Braize, couldn't we just assume Ashyn is where they were born?
