Thank you, but... you weren't supposed to reply, you know. Can't keep giving breath to this lifeless thing.

Reminds me of a joke spoiler preview of Stones Unhallowed(now Oathbringer) in which Nalan had Spook cryogenically preserved in an ice cube.Nalan, Szeth, his sword, Spook, and Jasnah, who became friends with Szeth because of their mutual fake deaths, became a rock band(Szeth was made truthless because Rock is too sacred to be played or something) and their music summoned Susebron. On topic: what if instead of becoming an atium compounder or something, Spook learned how to steal youth with a normal metal, and by burning the spikes he manages to reverse his aging? Vampires in the cosmere, anyone?

Parshendi and threads have one thing in common: You shouldn't touch their corpses without a good reason or a shardplate.

While I agree Renarin is very unlikely to be overtly corrupted by Odium, and do think his visions are part of the Truthwatcher baggage, there is always the possibility of him being an unwitting tool, just like so many people in Mistborn were to Ruin.Plus, I would say that Elhokar has even odds with Adolin of being used by Odium, and Dalinar's despotic tendencies may put him in a dangerous place as well.

Random Stuff VI The Return of the Admins
DreamEternal replied to Zathoth's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
You don't need bindpoints to kill... just to preserve the parts you need for later. -
For a human, sure. For a stormform parshendi? Who knows.

Random Stuff VI The Return of the Admins
DreamEternal replied to Zathoth's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Ravenclaw, I'd expect you to remember.EDIT: Not realy, actualy . I don't realy care about Hogwarts Houses, I don't expect anyone to remember the one that may or may not fit me. -
The fact that most people fighting in Alethkar, where Nergaul was for centuries at least, are alethi, makes it easy to imagine the Thrill being associated with being an alethi instead of living in Akethkar.
-
Stormform can do some (very) minor airbending if I remember the interludes right, and is at least as resistent as warform. Plus, shardplate does not simply protect your body, it makes it more resistent on itself while you wear it, like allomantic pewter. Otherwise Renarin wouldn't just have walked away of hitting the ground head-first after jumping from a balcony.
-
I don't think Adolin being half-alethi has anything to do with it. After Nergaoul moved, people in Jah Keved felt the Thrill even more powerfully than the alethi, so it seems to be a purely geographic phenomenom.

Random Stuff VI The Return of the Admins

And then you wonder why people dislike Slitherins . -
Yeah, he could have done better. But then, it is not like that troll was even worth the time spent typing a reply.

Now that is something I didn't think about. Although I am now wondering what would happen if someone bonded with a Radiant's shadow...

Shallan & Cryptics - Details revealed at a signing
DreamEternal replied to Havoc's topic in Stormlight Archive
It is not my fault. I mean, Shallan was rescued by Tvlak(sp?) and rode on the same wagon Kaladin was in months ago. Them they find a group of deserters that includes Gaz. And Roshone killed Moash's family. And many other things that alone are coincidence, but together are conspiracy. -
The Unmade: Gods of both Parshendi and Shin
DreamEternal replied to A Windspren's topic in Stormlight Archive
They don't worship either of those shards. As far as we know, their ancient songs mention Odium as the (un)maker of the unmade, and they don't even seem to know about Cultivation. They call the unmade theit gods, but they don't worship them either, they fear them like they should. I don't think the Listeners actualy worship anything. EDIT: And they believe the Stormfather/Rider of Storms and maybe the other intelligent spren betrayed them to the humans. Not Honor, who is never mentioned either by the epigraphs or interludes. -

Would you rather be tired and in prision? -
Tonight I Dance Alone, by Sonata Arctica, for Wax after Shadows of Self. "Sometimes we find things we are not looking for And lose the sense of reason. Sometimes we lose what we are caring for And face the day without them."

Wayne is not wise. He just likes to confuse people and sometimes it helps, just like a stoped clock is right twice a day and a delayed one never is.

To me this does not heavilly imply all the kandra are Trell-spiked, I don't think we have an official definition of metalborn that makes it unreasonable to call hemalurgic constructs that way, and VenDell may have reacted to the accusation of being Trell-spiked not because it was true, but because of how grave it is.

Shallan & Cryptics - Details revealed at a signing
DreamEternal replied to Havoc's topic in Stormlight Archive
Great WoB! I agree with your conclusion that cryptics like to stay close to human rulers. I'd also suggest that those cryptics may actualy have been trying to reignite Shallan's bond, after stumbling upon her and finding Pattern almost dying. This is also supported by how they keep watch of her from a longer distance after the incident: they want to know if they managed to save their sibling, but don't want to scare her to the point she supresses the bond again. -

Then we must agree to disagree. With the exception of WoR, which IMO the romance felt forced, I find the romance in his books a good way to relax a little between action scenes and plot twists.Plus, it is not like I want zero humor(even though I wouldn't miss it) I just think sometimes less is more, and the times he makes humor a central part of the character's narrative purpose or even personality(see: Wayne, Lopen, Wit, Nightblood) I quickly lose interest in said character.
-
Intents do not work like that. WoB confirms that shards don't apply their intents to themselves. Ruin didn't seek its own destruction, and wouldn't do it if it won. Preservation was not above self-sacrifice. Odium does not need to destroy itself. Also, why do you write "MISTER Sanderson"?
-
You could try. However, it will set this thread on fire and I will create the anti-comedy society to prevent excess of humor, and the decline in quality it brings. (Am I the only one who dislikes the humor in Brandon's books?)
