  1. Wait. There are three of us, so with NPC and Thor we'll be 5, or with Thor, Kuri and KChan, 6. Also, judging from the current trend, I don't think there will be enough people left for the second party (now, a party with one PC and 4 NPC does sound like fun, mind you) Also, sorry to mention this, Eerongal, but could you please edit the post where Murl has his pouch tied to his waste?
  2. Fine, fine. Other players should really hurry, though, lest we are forced to adventure with a dread NPC. As it is well known that NPC share the same hive mind as the monsters attacking us, they cannot be trusted. Also, should I make that list in character, or ooc?
  3. Tried and true, then So. You are an expert here - how do we begin? Also, how do we level up in the city without XP?
  4. True I have heard of something named "permanent chalk", too. Also, I have been perusing the comic, like Darths and Droids and KoDT, and learned much. So I say, while we wait in the city, we should establish contact with the Thieves guild, rob the treasury, depose the king, enslave population and drive it into the dungeon as a fodder/trap springers Gaze into my soul and embrace the insanity:
  5. The writing disappears not the scroll I wanted to scribe a scroll on the wall, activate it, and destroy chunk of the wall
  6. Well, to tell the truth, I kinda hoped that the scroll disintegrates on activation. With the writing fading out there is little utility for a chalk spell on the wall. BTW, do I need to get scrolls if I want to scribe them? I should have 1 blank scroll already, then (the one I wrote into my spellbook). Also, chalk usage, and surprising the monsters I mean, every intelligent monster knows to duck when the wizard whips out the scroll. Now, if the wizard instead looks at the wall covered with scribbles, and then the fireball blasts them - that is not something you see every day.
  7. And KChan is a what? Duskblade? If she is combat-oriented she should be OK, I guess. Of course, time issues... [EDIT] Hm. The scribe scroll feat description in SRD does not say anything about ink and parchment. Yay!
  8. A ranger without a ten-foot pole? Unbelievable! Also, seriously, what are the rules for scribing spells on the walls with chalk? I mean, nothing stops me from at least copying the symbols (although I may not be able to charge the thing) The quote is from the Way of Kings:
  9. Fine, I'll just sever nerves leading to arms and feet, so it won't run away. See? I am kindness incarnate. Not very far... You can chalk hands, make markings, write spells on the walls, obviously. Maybe feed the prisoner, throw at the traps... Don't know what else. I think about 1000 should be enough then.
  10. Still too expensive. I think I'll just have to kill the half-dragon, or maybe remove his fire-breathing ability by applying scalpel to the breathing parts. (Does that take knowledge Nature or dungeoneering?) Whaat? Bad advice from you? My trust in humanity is ruined (even more than it was before). So. What does chalk do?
  11. 10-foot pole be it, then. Once I'll get to the shop. And ink. A rope will just have to do instead of chain.
  12. Discreet Room Seynir "This is true." [OOC]The thief gets sucked into Shadesmar to die there without Stormlight. I love this quote[/OOC] I replace the hand in the pouch. "We need someone proficient in in disarming traps and opening locks, and willing to go for long odds. We may also need some equipment before we leave, at market prices if possible."
  13. Holy c, chains are expensive as ... silver daggers 30 gp? What does it do ?
  14. OK, so what equipment is recommended? Emeralis recommends water breathing apparatus (1gp), and I can't find its weight in the table I would also like to get fire and acid breathing apparati, if at all possible But seriously, I have also the weight to consider, so I can only get 1 3-meter pole before I go over light, maybe a 1000 chalks, a flask or two for acid... Recommendations?
  15. Discreet Room Seynir So, trying to cheat a bit, are we? Well, well. Let us try peaceful resolution first "I believe that the price we mentioned was 5 sp, and have considered accordingly" I smile sweetly. "But I see you have with you some spell components I have a certain dearth of. I would gladly pay additional price for myself and my companions if you are willing to provide me with several of these right now" I reach into my spell pouch and get a desiccated, but obviously human hand with two fingers missing. "We also wanted to ask you about other services your organization can provide, for a proper fee, of course. In particular, we wanted to know if you can provide us a quiet egress from the city, and if some of your members are interested in mercenary work"
  16. When to change the money indicated on character sheet. I deduct money when preparing for transaction, Tulir after transaction.
  17. Whatever DM says goes, so we should ask Eerongal. I think you are right, though.
  18. Discreet Room Seynir "Hope they have change" And if they try to rob or cheat me, I shall attempt to remove their reproductive organs and force them in their lungs. Sure hope it won't come to that - that is one messy procedure. [OOC] Striax, just wondering, how do you keep track of your money and whatnot? I edit my Character Sheet each time I pay.[/OOC]
  19. Discreet Room Seynir "You are right." I fish out 1gp from my spell pouch and put it on the table. "Here, for me and Umieri." [OOC] Really, is 40gp that much? A measly dagger (silver) costs 22gp. But what do I know?[/OOC]
  20. Discreet Room Seynir "Well, I brought some money to get equipment in the city, and haven't spent all of it yet, obviously. Also, I've got most of what I need, although, seeing as I lack knowledge of dungeoneering additional suggestions are welcome. Second, what do you mean, it is much? Have you seen the prices around here? I can't even afford a simple medical kit (50gp). On that note, though, I think you may need to preserve your funds somewhat, and seeing as this predicament is partly my fault, I offer that I'll pay for you in this matter, at least."
  21. Discreet Room Seynir "I agree. Just to be aware of our options, I say we also ask them about their mercenary services, although I expect that is going to cost us. On that note, I think we should be aware about our funds situation. I have about 40gp left, what about you two?"
  22. Discreet Room Seynir I address Umieri: "Well, your wish seems to have come true. It looks like the thieves guild has found us. Why did you want to contact them anyways? To see if they have a trap specialist willing to go with us?" "Also, their price does not seem to be unreasonable, if their offer is true, although we may need a way out of town rather than a place to hide. I doubt that the town guard will follow us into the dungeon."
  23. Alleyway Seynir Sigh I concentrate on the world surrounding me, breathing deeply for a moment, discerning patterns that it is comprised of, and feel my pupils dilate slightly as my perception changes slightly. More likely to react to unpleasant surprises this way. I certainly hope that if such are forthcoming, they would be forthcoming quickly. I cannot hold this state for long I follow Umieri.
  24. Mists actually. Black, White, Translucent, glowing, cold and warm.
  25. Well, I cook from time to time, but mostly simple things like chicken liver with nira or the japanese style curry. Also there was a period when I made proper sourdough rye bread (impossible to find in japan). Of course, my methods are not as sophisticated as yours, I just throw stuff on the frying pan, liberally apply soy sauce (which I deplore uncooked, by the way), and cook until done. Also, I make cookies And about a week ago I have finally succeeded to make something that will pass as a Chiffon cake without close inspection. That was quite tasty. I never use mixes for that stuff, though, just plain old sugar, butter, flour, etc. That being said, I don't think I'll trust any food prepared by any of you I am quite a picky eater, and if i detect traces of (heaven forbid) garlic in my food, or red peppers, I usually decline the stuff, or eat out of politeness, while wincing inside. I still have some sense of taste left to me Although, strangely enough, I enjoy wasabi. Once, I have managed to get my hand on a bunch of whole wasabi plants, and pickled them. That was delicious ! (But I forgot the region where I've gotten it. damnation)
