Greetings, my brethren!
Surgebound Rainspren replied to BenevolentTyrant's topic in Introduce Yourself!
Ah yes I completely forgot about the mandatory national bakery clause of 1896 in the Australian citizenship documents. In other words I need to go down to the shops and pick up some lamington's before I get sentenced to life in the kola slave-pits. (welcome to 17th shard, run a metal detector over that cookie before you eat it, It's most likely spiked.) -
Long Game 11: Twinborn Village
Surgebound Rainspren replied to Newan's topic in Sanderson Elimination
We should focus on coordinating our votes. Having seven way ties like this one is like bringing a fish to a sword-fight; it may seem useful in theory but realistically is a waste of time.- 586 replies

Quick Fix Game 7: Living (and Dying) Rough
Surgebound Rainspren replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Karlin looked up from his book to gaze at the spectacle unfolding before him. It seemed the thought of there being traitors among them had thrown them into a fit of finger-pointing. He sighed, shaking his head, and returned to his book. "At least the Lawmen will be found quickly" He thought "even if we lynch off our own ranks to do it". Before we get to crazy with voting can we agree on something. This game is an Isolated incident (for want of a better term). Players alignments in other games don't effect the alignment of those players in this game. Furthermore using voting to punish players is ridiculous, don't vote for people because they didn't understand the rules.- 287 replies

I was wondering if anyone else was a fan of Melissa Keil and her novels.I for one love her style of writing and her first book, Life in outer space, is one of my top five favorite books. Her second book, The Incredible Adventures of Cinnamon Girl, is also an exceptional story. For those who are unacquainted with her works I would recommend checking out her blog.(http://melissakeil.com/).

Long Game 11: Twinborn Village
Surgebound Rainspren replied to Newan's topic in Sanderson Elimination
There's still a chance that the spiked have the Hazecrusher. It would make sense to not use it last night because a villager kill the cycle after the Hazecrusher was found would be very suspicious.- 586 replies

Where did the Lorists come from?
Surgebound Rainspren replied to Shardbound's topic in The Reckoners
That depends on whether they could adapt to the new methods of communication, I don't know if this is just in newcago but every one has mobiles right. Exel also uses a radio to collect information at on point. I don't think that the Lorist's a group of Anonymous that reformed after the calamity's rise, but the Lorist's might be based on Anonymous as they use some of the same tactics (to uncover information and supply it to the people who can use it). -
Regalia's motives are definitely much more admirable than other characters, especially the ones suffering from a bad case of the epic-crazies. I (personally) find it hard to think of her as a "bad guy" of the book. Maybe back when she flooded the entire city and killed tens of thousands of people whilst doing so she could be considered as an evil character. But she changed since then. She then understood the risk of the human race losing thousands of years of advancement. Though her methods are rather morally unsettling her motives are pure. But would her plan be more successful then David's. If we (for the purpose of this argument) were to measure success in three attributes 1)kill-count (how many deaths are needed to complete the plan) 2)damage to property 3)longevity (how long will the plan be effective for). > David's plan would win category 2 as the reckoners barely ever destroy property > Regalia's should plan would win category 3, but the problem with this is for it the hold its longevity it she would need to find a heir and have a string of heirs after that. > Category 1 is a lot more blurred and hard to decide. On one hand David's plan would require less sacrifice of civilians to keep the people from uprising. But Regalia's plan would mean other epics wouldn't attack as often probably killing hundreds before they could be properly killed. In the end I decided that Davids plan would cause less causalities. final tally: David's=2 Regalia's=1

Long Game 11: Twinborn Village
Surgebound Rainspren replied to Newan's topic in Sanderson Elimination
It would definitely be a service to the village to make sure to sleep every night. As far as we can tell there are some where between three and five spiked left. This may not seem like much but if only a handful of people are sleeping each round then we could very easily lose a lynching to the spiked by one or two votes. this is multiplied by the number of players who are not contributing to the main threads (this will be much more of an issue one the new Qf game starts)- 586 replies

Quick Fix Game 7: Living (and Dying) Rough
Surgebound Rainspren replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Karlin smiled and saluted his captain (of something apparently). "A chance to kill some traitors" he thought "what a chance to relax". Puling a poisoned knife from it's sheath "this should work just fine" This is me signing up as Karlin, the blade-enthusiastic mercenary with a knack for killing his employers.- 287 replies

Long Game 11: Twinborn Village
Surgebound Rainspren replied to Newan's topic in Sanderson Elimination
The problem with Rioting is it's hard to disguise because the persons original vote will still be public. If a persons vote shows up different in the write-up and there is no evidence of them changing it in the former cycle then it's safe to assume that they have been Rioted.- 586 replies

Long Game 11: Twinborn Village
Surgebound Rainspren replied to Newan's topic in Sanderson Elimination
It would make sense for the Kandra to work with us villagers. Working together would mean we would far out-number the spiked. If all the spiked are killed then both the Kandra and the Villagers win.- 586 replies
