on the contrary to some of these responses I always liked books that had a magic system that I couldn't relate to. because in essence this is what magic is. people read and write about magic to escape from the reality that there is no easier way to do or accomplish something. have you noticed that there is really ever or even never a magic system that makes a task harder to accomplish. maybe the magic its self is hard to control but what it is being used for becomes easier. since the magic written about in books doesn't exist in real life the physics behind it can't be tested. sure you can make theories to why the magic acts the way it does but nothing can be validated. I always enjoyed how in Brandon Sanderson's novels the science and LORE behind the actions of the world he created was tight and well thought out. but the reason of magic is to make you wonder why it happens and how it does so.

I actually just started this series after being recommended it by a close friend. I've only read the first few chapters though

just a quick question, has anybody else noticed that on the diagram of a Axehound in way of kings part 2 has the same mandible like protrusions on the side of its mouth as the Chasmfiend diagram in words of radiance. im certain that this was intentional but what evolutional use is it. its likely that Axehounds and Chasmfiends are somehow related but what use do these mandibles have. it could be used to move food into its mouth easily but when your food source tends to crowd around you this is irrelevant.

I believe that you can soulcast living things, but why blood, unless you need to preform a instant transfusion it be almost useless. except if you where a lazy vampire. also if this is explained in WoR please withhold spoilers as I cant get my hands on it yet.

Sooooooo I'm bored and..... well I want to make a list of creative spren. I KNOW ITS ALREADY BEEN DONE 1) glass spren, little humanoid spren that appear as fog on glass. can only exist on glass but can move between unconnected pieces of it. 2) tech spren, I just want something to blame when my computer doesn't work ok 3) band spren, I know that music spren already exist but these are different. They form the figure\s of the band or person who sang or played the song and play along. The more you like the band the stronger that spren are and can enhance the music 4) night spren, I think these already exist but they are basically shadows in human form that exist when a person feels uncomfortable with a dark situation. 5) enthusiasm spren, little figures that jump up and down when what ever brought them into existence is overly exited. Misty prevalent when reading my posts or meeting your favourite authors. That's five for now, make your own list. if there's a spren in every thing I'm sure you can think of some creative ones.
