I can't forget. No matter how much I want to scrub that fact from my brain, it is still there. *shudder* Somebody must've really hated humanity to write that episode. Please, mail-mi. Don't watch the episode just so you know what we're talking about. It's not worth it. Magic School Bus? Please tell me it's on the chart.

You have such an amazing journey ahead of you. But if you get the chance, go back and watch the best of 9 and 10. Most of Nine's episodes are good, but "The Empty Child/ The Doctor Dances" are a definite must-see. As for Ten, definitely watch "New Earth," "The Girl in the Fireplace," "Army of Ghosts/ Doomsday," "Smith and Jones," the "Utopia" cycle, "Fires of Pompeii," "Silence in the Library/ Forest of the Dead," and "Journey's End." Oh, who am I kidding. Just go back to Season 1 and watch every single episode except "Love and Monsters." DO NOT watch "Love and Monsters." Whatever you do. DO NOT WATCH IT. Let me give you an idea of what I'm saving you from. Take the stupidest thing you can think of. Multiply it by six. Add a bejeweled loincloth. You heard me—a bejeweled loincloth. Just skip "Love and Monsters," all right? You'll thank me for this one day.

(That made me laugh maybe harder than I should have. ) I would like to read about the Nyssan Gazelle-People, though. Maybe you could make an entire species the main character somehow? I totally understand. Really. When you just don't feel like doing anything at all, except maybe eating ice cream, which doesn't taste the same…seriously, I've been there. I don't know what to say except that it'll get easier. And, if we must, we can always put Lightwards on a bus. By which I mean Saccharine can make some knockout darts and Funtimes can tie Lightwards hand and foot and toss him onto a bus. Probably one driven by BusDriver. In the meantime, please enjoy this ponified Susan Gillespie. Whitelaw is giving me fits, though.

See, I have these characters I decided I had to write about….and only some vague ideas as to what their story will include. Still figuring that out. Don't apologize, it's totally fine. RL is more important.

Why no, no, they have not. An oversight that will soon be remedied. Why write when you can ponify? (I'm actually working on that opening scene—the one where Randy dies—at the behest of my writers' group, who said that it needs to be down on paper. So I'm working on it. And who knows, maybe ponification is just what this project needs for motivation. )

If Other Authors Wrote the Cosmere Novels
TwiLyghtSansSparkles replied to Fatebreaker's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I felt the exact same way. And, after House of Hades especially, I shudder to think what Warbreaker as written by Riordan would have been like. To do a spoiler tag, bracket what you want to spoil like this:- 163 replies

No offense, but the communications problem especially is kind of a big hole, so I think that at least should be addressed. Maybe only a few radios were jammed, or the pandas used some sort of wibbly-wobbly technology we don't have in the present to broadcast a false signal? Maybe one of the pandas is an Epic illusionist and made the guards whose radios were jammed think they were working perfectly? Actually, an illusionist panda could potentially solve a lot of the plot hole and continuity problems with that post.

On the upside, the world was soon rid of at least one whiner. TimeStar? Mayor of Creepytown? Edit: We need to ship Nighthound with a character who likes pasta so we can call it Creepypasta.

"This is such a perfect restaurant. Why did you have to pick a perfect restaurant, Backtrack dear?" "Why do you have to sip your wine so gracefully?" "Why do you have to be so cute when you're complimenting me?" (Many of those cells are sadly empty. And we haven't even added crack ship fuel like Mister Hamsterface and Lightwards' hat to the chart yet. Though I'm now starting to wonder what a Calamity/Lightwards' hat ship would be called….)

o.O O.o ….I…I like to think Lucentia was shipped with Backtrack and they were too busy whining about their budding romance to be enlisted by Calamityville.

Yep. That whole "You aren't allowed to escape because you are my subjects and I control your existence" thing was just a lie to keep the masses in check. Had they known their queen actually trapped them in a pocket universe to shield herself from Backtrack's whining, they would have assumed whining to be her weakness, and before long Calamityville would be nothing more than one gigantic whine-fest.

Well, Backtrack was from San Francisco, while Calamityville was taken from Northern California. I like to think that as Backtrack traveled from town to town, attempting to survive by doing errands for more powerful Epics, he whined about it so much that the powerful Epics who hired him whined about it to their friends, who told their friends, allowing word to eventually make it to Slaughterhouse. By this point, Backtrack's whining wasn't just memetic; it was legendary.

Having a Bad Day? Stop here for a Good Rant!
TwiLyghtSansSparkles replied to traceria's topic in General Discussion
I'm so sorry. I know that doesn't quite do it justice, but I am. I know what it's like to lose a pet--I lost one of my dogs last year. But I can tell you loved him, and I know you gave him a good life. And I think that's how he'd see it, too--he lived a great life with an awesome alien friend. (I'm convinced that's how dogs at least think of us, as these big, weird aliens who like them a lot.) It doesn't make it easier. But I do know he had the best life a cat could ask for. -
Can I have one? That sounds ridiculously fun. How so?

I'll be in, once this semester is over. Can we take the prompt and use characters/worlds from stories we're already working on (in other words, could I use the prompts to try and help me flesh out the novel I'm working on)?

At least those are still available, unlike the infamous series told from Michael Jager's—commonly known as Koschei's Nighthound—perspective. Those were removed from a site known for hosting M-rated stories for being "too disturbing for mortal vision." Fortunately, the crowd-pleasing And Then the Nighthound Died series of one-shots is still available. Current chapter: "Michael Jager and the Year CPS Agents Were Given Green Beret Training and Armed with Rocket Launchers and Construction Cranes."
