Objection! Autumn wouldn't be hiding on her bed. That's far too obvious. Try inside her pantry with a bag of flour to throw in Shiny's face while she made her getaway.

Only if he gets flowing locks as well.

Yes, but Gummy's wisdom couldn't have reached Wes if he were nothing but a mammal-eating machine. There's the soul of a poet beneath that scaly exterior, and he only needs the right advice to realize his destiny in life.

I'm female, and I embrace many traditionally feminine things. I like wearing skirts and curling my hair, I enjoy trying new recipes and drinking tea while cooing over pictures of small dogs. I once had a gender studies prof tell me I only enjoyed those things because I had been brainwashed by our culture. But I know that's not true. I don't enjoy those things out of an obligation to be feminine. I don't teach myself new recipes for the benefit of some mythical future husband. I enjoy these things because I find them fulfilling. At the same time, I know there are women who don't find fulfillment in those things. They might despise cooking or hate the way skirts look on them. They might find curling irons to be a waste of time or feel more comfortable and happy in a pixie cut. And all of that, in my opinion, is awesome. They like what they like and I like what I like, and as long as we're both comfortable and happy with who we are, that's fine. And I think the same goes for men. There are some who say that men should act like men and women should act like women. Men drive trucks and drink beer while watching sports; women wear skirts and cook. And some people are happy that way. But some men like things our culture has arbitrarily decided are "girly." Shows about ponies, the color pink, wearing long hair--our culture has set those things aside for women, while any woman who likes playing football and drinking beer is "mannish." And I think it's dumb. Like what you like. Do what you do. Don't let our culture decide whether you're "mannish" or "girly." It was a guy who introduced me to MLP, after all, and I'm glad he was manly enough to tell me about that awesome show.

Having a Bad Day? Stop here for a Good Rant!

You both have good ideas. And thanks. I know I'll have to get up off the sofa soon....but it doesn't feel important right now. -
Excellent point. Especially if we gave Wes the hat as a symbol of his leadership. Indeed it would.
-
I was thinking Lightwards' hat gave him PTSD....but perhaps he could be persuaded that's he necromancer was a stain on the good name of funny hats.
-
I share a similar headcanon, but with the addition that were Wes allowed full autonomy, he would learn to communicate with humans and usher in a golden age of beauty and understanding. But vegetarianism would be outlawed. And so would funny hats.

Having a Bad Day? Stop here for a Good Rant!

The batteries in this house's smoke alarms are apparently dying. Rather than send a card or flash a yellow light or something a civilized smoke alarm would do, these alarms announced their impending demise with a piercing wail not unlike the one they would give in case of actual fire. According to these smoke alarms, the best time to do this is 3:30 in the morning. When I'm home alone. So because of their sensitive ears, I had to evacuate the pugs out the back door, then rush around the second story frantically changing batteries. I didn't have enough for the bedrooms, so I'll have to run to Walmart as soon as I'm presentable. I feel like I just got beat up by someone in Shardplate. -
That one is super easy, too, and if you wanted to add a little chicken for extra protein, it works beautifully. If you subscribe to Buzzfeed's recipe newsletter, they'll send you a bunch of recipes twice a week. I didn't like every recipe they sent me, but there have been some awesome ones in those emails.

Here is the recipe I used.

So should we hope you get better soon...or encourage you to write a post introducing Metronome to TooMuchOxy before the meds wear off? (I really do hope you get better soon, Voidus. Being sick is no fun.)

Sounds like a date? Edit: And I just applied for a job in Salt Lake City. Keep your fingers crossed.

So what if instead of bats, I take on a different motif? Like…. Lady Puglina! The smushy-faced defender of the downtrodden and nutritional variety!

Are those the only choices?

I like to think I respond to my Emotionally Scarring Backstories™ in healthier ways, thank you.

I'm the only one in my family who likes it. And the recipe I found was actually really good! Not very difficult, either. I did that when I watched Doctor Who for the first time. That. Is a beautiful signature.

Yay for bucking the system! Of the fandoms listed, I'm with…. Doctor Who Harry Potter My Little Pony Disney/Pixar Gravity Falls (new episode next week WOOT!) Cosmere Reckoners (WHICH IS NOT COSMERE) and pugs. What, they're not a fandom? Well, they should be.

I just made egg drop soup. I hadn't eaten it in years. And it turned out pretty well. I'll need more practice to perfect the technique and recipe, but it was good.

Alcatraz: The sappier the romance novel, the more evil it contains. (Which isn't too far from the truth. )

I have to pick one? I don't know if I can do this, guys.

Well, good luck! I may or may not be rather biased in saying I reeeeally hope you get the SLC job.

Not as annoying and more helpful than you might think, considering I don't own a copy of Steelheart and usually see most canon-related questions/comments/concerns while at work and separated from my print copy of Firefight. (But not for long, for I have ordered the Kindle edition of Calamity! ) Not really. I don't play many video games, and the only video games I really liked growing up were Spyro and Blinx. Of course, not being very good at those games, I had a tendency to give up when I got within a few levels of the Big Boss. I actually played more computer games as a kid, and even then I didn't play many. I think my favorite was called Freedom Force, a very well-done spoof of Silver Age superhero tropes that was also a ton of fun. None, really. The only comic I own is Kingdom Come, unless you count the Calvin and Hobbes collections on my shelf.

Cool. Since she favored people based on physical beauty, what would you think of the Epics in her regime valuing different types of beauty? For instance, there would be some Epics who also valued physical beauty, but since Radiance took all the gorgeous people, they'd be forced to settle for "cute" or "not entirely unattractive." But then there would be more sadistic ones who saw suffering or personal tragedy as beautiful, and mistreated their servants accordingly.
