  1. Imagine the AMA post: "Hi, Brandon! Over in the Oregon RP, we've decided that Obliteration dates our GM, quotes the Song of Songs when he's feeling flirtatious, and likes grilling hamburgers and hot dogs on his bare chest. Will any of this be included in Calamity, or in an Obliteration spinoff series?"
  2. Every summer, membership either shrank to almost nothing, or swelled to megachurch numbers. And I have a feeling it was the latter.
  3. I really want to know what summer cookouts at his church were like now.
  4. Please use that picture....and not one where Obliteration is grilling hamburgers on his bare chest. I know that'd be hard to ponify, but shipping knows no bounds.
  5. I first read "machene gun" as "machete gun." I don't care how ridiculous that is; I want one.
  6. Oohhhh, does Nighthound drink the sanity-restoring Coke, or does he cruelly knock it from Arsenal's hand before he can drink it? Or does he drink it, but is so corrupt that the chemicals dissolve him to nothing? Female!Nighthound met male!Nighthound. Their hands touched. The paradox caused them both to implode. Wibbly wobbly timey wimey. I'm sure you understand.
  7. Which parallel universe? The Cokeverse, the one where Calamity doesn't exist, the one where Nighthound is a woman and Lucentia is a man, or another one I'm forgetting?
  8. I thought it was good. Also, I thought you'd all like to know that we're about to pass through The Dalles. Not to worry: we just passed a Coca-Cola truck going the same direction.
  9. And here I thought you were just an astute judge of character. I feel you. I've had to avoid so many WoR memes.
  10. It was a very sweet wedding. No geekery in the ceremony itself, but my brother, who was a groomsman, told me that the bow ties and suspenders they wore kicked off several rounds of Matt Smith quotes. But it was nice. They held it at a resort in the woods near Vancouver, WA, with small waterfalls and ponds and big tall trees. My brother wrote most of the poetic quotes in the groom's vows, one of which was "I long to embrace you the way the mountains embrace the sky," which I thought was sweet. And the groom was in the Navy, so for one of the engagement pictures that they played in a looped slide show during the reception, they re-enacted the famous V-J Day picture of the sailor kissing the nurse. Overall, it went off without a hitch, and I'm extremely happy for them both. Even if it's more than a little weird, watching my friend get married when it seems like just yesterday he and my brother were writing ridiculous jokes on the back of my brother's summer homework.
  11. I heard of one guy who, hearing that the stuff in the margins wasn't graded, drew a very intricate picture of Leonidas beating up a Canadian.
  12. Well, I haven't read anything by OSC, so I can't make comparisons, but I have been consistently impressed by Sanderson's strong female characters. And I'm the sort of reader who rolled her eyes at Tris Prior's "LOOK AT ME I AM FEMINISM" characterization and stopped reading when a legitimately strong female character was made into a villain while yet another kick-every-guy's-butt female protagonist was held up as a strong female character in another series.
  13. So you're saying a ship between the two would be called Soulless Sparkles?
  14. I found it quite pleasing. The "...and then they died" line was a lovely touch.
  15. No need to tell us we need closure on day one. We're just trying to get to that point.
  16. That's....what we've been working toward and talking about for a while now....
  17. I see. Are they nice black and white pencil drawings, color photographs, color drawings? Will the deluxe edition have a mini graphic novel included, or a fold-out poster?
  18. I just learned that apparently, the original maraschino cherry factory is in The Dalles. Another thing for Arsenal to be bitter about, I suppose.
  19. The wedding ceremony just ended. The preacher definitely knew his Bible, but he was too short and old to be Obliteration. ....unless this is his dad.
  20. With planning-related posts, we put the first word at least in red, so those skimming can see it. Joe at least just searches the thread for mentions of his name or characters if he's running short on time. And, as Blackhoof mentioned, Voidus already moved the Metronome post to the Fanfics thread; it wouldn't be hard to do the same for Atrophy. On another note, we're all friends here. This is for planning, yes, but it's also where we come to socialize over interests that would otherwise spam unrelated threads. This is our subculture, and tangents are part of that subculture. Better to just accept that this is how we express our friendship.
  21. Well, you found the post in question, so I don't think the pugs and shipping are doing much harm.
  22. Humanity has gone through many stages throughout history. What do you believe our invention of fake fire--as seen in many a hotel lobby--says about our current stage? (Yes I just walked past a fake fire in the hotel lobby. Yes it reminded me of just how weird it is.)
