I had an interesting theory last night. The Parshendi use the cognitive realm to hear the music right, and that how they show emotion, by speaking by a different kind of song. Well i find it very likely that spanreeds use the cognitive realm to send their messages, what if a Parshendi was standing between two spanreeds? could he intercept the message, this would be a very interesting plot point, to be discovered by either Rlain or Eshonai.

shivers, no offence but if you are going to type like that from your phone wait until you get to a computer to post, I don't know if there are any rules about it, but personally it is rather annoying to read, I mean does your phone have auto correct? it is there for a reason. but in response to the thing on how Kaladin and Dalinar just grimacing, I don't think they held those blades for very long, and we don't know if it gets worse or not, so the idea that Renarin carried it around for something like a week ( I think it takes 5 days to bond a blade) is pretty incredible, I personally wasn't surprised when he turned out to be a radiant, but I have always been good at the whole subtle foreshadowing thing.

Google chrome i can try another browser but that would really be painful, I mean it is kind of inconvenient if the site doesn't work for the most popular web browser out, isn't it? Edit: Yes the spoilers and multiquote button both work for Firefox so it appears that it is chromes problem I'll see if I can dig it up I feel like if the site didn't work right for chrome it would be a more known problem.

It seems we thought of the exact same thing, Lol.

I think it is Safe to say that Dalinar won't ally himself with Mr.T it goes against hi rules and probably also against his Ideals, Mr. T has already broken the First Ideal on a number of cases. I mean, "Journey before Destination", Mr. T obviously think his ends will jusstify his means, it doesn't. so no Dalinar won't team up with the Diagram (unless their is no other choice or, Mr. T changes his ways dramatically)

hard to admit but I am on the autistic spectrum in a very similar place to Renarin, it really doesn't effect my day to day dealings with poeple other than making me a typical introvert. but it does manifest in other ways, ways that aren't exactly obvious unless you know me very well, things like obsessive behavior and fidgeting with objects and repeating sentences after I say them. From my perceptive I didn't pick Renarin as anything but an introvert but after hearing the WoB from Brandon that he has autism but it doesn't even reach the aspergers level, exactly how mine was explained to me. So yes I believe the idea that he has minor autism. Is it an excuse for all behavior, of course not but I think it is enough to say he doesn't think the same way about certain things to other poeple, such as his family situation , he could see it completely differently to us, or his autism could manifest elsewhere, we don't know yet, and until we see from his view point( which I think will be very interesting to read as i remember Brandon saying in writing excuses that he loved the way another author wrote aspergers characters from a different pov to others) we don't know but I do believe he has autism at a very minor level

Radiants magnitude of brokenness is irrelevant
signspace13 replied to signspace13's topic in Stormlight Archive
I guess that is also something that could thought about as well, but if you ask me the balance is made with the ideals, think of the knights radiant as the future Cosmere police and special forces, made to keep everyone else in line, sought of, i think this mostly because they have to follow their Ideals, where as a mistborn is unrestricted in his power.I also think that a lerasium mistborn would be quite a bit of trouble even for a windrunner, especially if he knew what he was fighting. but as the title suggests i don't think their brokenness is to blame for them being radiants, I understand that you have to be broken to form a Nahel bond due to the whole 'crack in the soul to fill' thing, but I feel everyone has been focusing to much on that than the obviously good poeple in the book, i think poeple like Rysn and Adolin have some pretty high chances of becoming KR not because they are broken but because they are good poeple who show the qualities required to become KR. -
Odium’s Plan to Free Himself and How He Will Be Defeated
signspace13 replied to Confused's topic in Stormlight Archive
WOW, this theory is fantastic, have an upvote! I think that you are probably very close to right, even with the knight radiant predictions, I mean Axies will probably bond that Massive spren that he sees, and since we think it is God spren that make a Bondsmith, then this is probably likely, I think it would be great for Vasher to become a surgebinder, I mean anything to make him even more of a grumpy immortal Badass is alright with me. the only thing that seems off with this is the fact that you posted it, if Brandon turns up and reads it and goes "damnation he got me guess I have to change everything now" all with a funny grin then posting this changes everything. But i really do like this theory, it seems like you have gone around to just about every other thread and plopped all of the legitimate ideas in one massive theory, good on you this looks like it would have taken forever to type. Edit: Now that I think of it i think it wise to avoid your theories, because they might just be full of spoilers, nah jokes.- 23 replies

Radiants magnitude of brokenness is irrelevant
signspace13 replied to signspace13's topic in Stormlight Archive
Thank you for your extreme eloquence in restating what I originally posted. this thread is made to get people to focus more on the virtues of becoming a radiant and less on the brokenness, and from what I have seen around the forum, it has worked well enough. Edit: even if this thread wasn't the actual cause. -
I would like someone to take care of it, I can't hide anything, it says I don't have permission, I cant see the Multi-quote button and I can't open spoilers, all of these thing are rather annoying, and it is stopping me from posting some of my more interesting theories on the main SA thread.

Radiants magnitude of brokenness is irrelevant
signspace13 replied to signspace13's topic in Stormlight Archive
Hmm that does make an interesting point, but I don't quite agree, with the idea that the heralds were stronger than the radiants or that they go to damnation to be more powerful. The thing that makes the heralds special isn't that they are surgebinders, that comes from their honorblades, and based on what Syl said about an honor blade not requiring the same checks as a spren I don't think brokenness would be a factor in their power. The thing that a herald special is that they are immortal. I think they are slivers of honor in a similar way that the returned a a sliver of endowment. but they have retained memories of their afterlife and they know what their mission is to stop. -
Yeah that would actually be amazing, and yeah i agree with the idea of the Dustbringer spren being to flamespren as Syl is to windspren. but do like the idea of bonding an animals spren to become a radiant, maybe we will see it in other Radiants, i don't want to let the idea drop just yet. all in all i would be fine with Rysn or Adolin with their own books, about their experiences between the two series. because i don't know if their flashbacks would be all that interesting at the moment.

Radiants magnitude of brokenness is irrelevant
signspace13 replied to signspace13's topic in Stormlight Archive
hm, forgot about them, and yeah maybe one will, lets all hope it's no one we like, i mean i would be fine if Mr T gave it a go (not a fan) but i hope none of bridge for takes Teft's families example. -
Yeah that is what I meant by deed, and I think it would be great, it also frees up shallan for the Shalladin ship which is my other favourite. And yeh it would be awsome seeing adolin to fight. Another thing I want to know about is what is a larkin? Didn't rysn get one from the reshi after showing her bravery? I question this as we have seen that sone seriously powerful spren seem to inhabit creatures, shown when the spren saves Rysn's life and possibky by the little things that float a round chasm fiends and sky eels, what if one of these spren is what makes you a dust bringer? This is all pure conjecture but I think ot would be amazing if Adolin bonded a chasmfiend LOL.

Ha, Rysolin would indeed be awesome. and it would be even more awesome if they were both dustbringers, which at this point is just as likely as either of them becoming one individually, I mean in scadrial, snapping often included an experience of great pain, so Rysn's legs seem just as likely to make her a Radiant candidate as Adolin's deed.

Radiants magnitude of brokenness is irrelevant
signspace13 replied to signspace13's topic in Stormlight Archive
this is interesting, Is say this because it meansa radiant has two ways oif being more powerful, 1. be more broken (can't really be consciously changed) 2. live closer to your ideals if this is the case then we have barely seen any of what Kal and Shallan can do, because they are pretty broken, but it certainly means that their magnitude of brokenness matters, which is something i don't really like, it's like saying to someone "oh you want to be more powerful so you can help people better? go be suicidal for awhile that will help". but i still like the theory, have an upvote -
And nightblood as odium would probably be worse, but hey maybe that's what the next set of the archive is about. oh dear God I hope not.

I'm in with both Maxal and grey pilgrim, I think it will either be Rysn or Adolin, and seeing that Lift is an interlude character/surgebinder, I think rysn has a good chance. And if climbing down to talk to a greatshell just to make a deal isn't bravery I don't know what is. Adolin is probably a stronger bet for the moment though as he is already a main. I would personally be completely fine with either

I'm npt sure what you mean about basic illumination and her requiring some, but i do like the question about what radiants would spy on, and i think the answer is relatively simple, voidbringers, and associates of them. there is nothing that says that there weren't people working with them during the Epochs so why not. But i do like the idea of them being psychologists, but maybe just because i think this conversation would be awesome: Shallan: "so Kaladin, what is it that bothers you?" Kaladin (lying down on a shay lounge): "just about everything" Shallan: "and why is that" Kaladin: "I don't know" Edit: well i just learnt not to double click the post button

[Theory] The Stormfather is Tanavast's Cognitive Shadow
signspace13 replied to WeiryWriter's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yeah this makes perfect sense, but where is the fun in being reasonable? and I still think that the stormfather meant he was a sliver of Tanavast, capitilization or not, it fits what he said best for me "i watched him die", honor didn't die, it's a shard it was shattered, in it's shattering Tanavast died, and the only cowardly part of Tanavast left fled his body with Honor, and it watched him die. so the storm father became something like Tanavast's cognitive shadow, but only a small part of him, and probably not the good part. -
Radiants magnitude of brokenness is irrelevant
signspace13 replied to signspace13's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think I was wrong to say irrelevant, but "Isn't they only thing" didn't have the same ring to it. I still think the focus on it has been too high, I mean, I have been rooting for a few more radiants but every time we here about one they get compared to Kal and Shallan's for Brokenness, and truly I don't really want any more Kals and Shallans, they are unique in their brokenness, that why they are main Characters. so really just think we should stop thinking of them as the benchmark when they are obviously far from ordinary.
