I like the idea that the parshendi and Amians were native to Roshar and then the human's fled their homeplanet with cultivation and honor when Odium showed up, then they kind of took over Roshar. The Parshendi and Aimian's then made a deal with the devil (Odium) to try and take their world back (and their spren, which fled them in exchange for man kind as mankind gave them sentience in the physical Realm.). This lead to the oathpact between honor and the Heralds, who were Ten kings from the Home world, making them not Native Rosharan as has been suggested.

Which Radiant wielding an Honorblade would you like to see
signspace13 replied to Gyth's topic in Stormlight Archive
Ahh I see I guess I didn't read it quite right, I have actually always liked the idea that Adolin would revive his shardblade. And I feel like Kaladin would probably be more likely to be able to fight with dead shard blade, even though I seriously doubt he will try, I say mental fortitude for a reason, the screaming would hurt your mind, Adolin is used to being very good at combat but I Don't think he is used to that kind of pain, Kaladin and maybe Szeth could do it, Szeth already hears screams, and that kind of mental pain is something you learn to block out when you are in a position of little self worth such as being a bridgeman. -
I concur with this theory quite a bit. In fact I thin this could spread to other light weaving, perhaps Hoid's? we know he has perfect pitch and we know he is a musician the only time we have ever seen him light weave was while playing music, so yes I agree that a light weaver's special ability is something that helps them perfect their art form, Hoid his music and Shallan her drawing (bare in mind though I'm not saying that wit is a Radiant, just that his magic is likely very similar to Shallan's, as is said by Khriss in The ars arcanum) I do not think that Truthwatchers see a definite future, I think they see a calculated one, one that their very clever mind puts together from all of their own knowledge, and they can then project this knowledge into a sort of hologram, displaying what they see as the most likely series of events, this is the only way that I would see someone 'Learned' trusting any visions of the future, and explains Renarin's absolute melt down at the end of WoR, in his projection they do not win, it is not the most likely occurrence, but he see that projection as absolute because he doesn't understand his powers. And I LOVE the theory that the skybreaker's ability alluded to in the epigraphs was there knack to start arguments. although I doubt it was there unique Radiant ability.

Light weaver, I have always seen them as the KR spys and Assassins, mostly because there abilities suit the role so well.

Which Radiant wielding an Honorblade would you like to see
signspace13 replied to Gyth's topic in Stormlight Archive
As awesome as that would be, the Shardblade would scream if he was a dustbringer and I think it would take some serious mental fortitude to fight with that scream in your head, a fortitude that I don't see Adolin possessing. -
This suggests that he has the appearance of a non-rosharan, something that is often atributed to the heralds, with Taln, Nale, and the supposed Shalash. But it doesn't suggest that he has an honorblade.

Going through a re-read of WoK at the moment and I just read the chapter Gibletish, the one where Hoid reveals himself for the first time (well actually says the name). One of High-prince Hatham's ardents says this This god-priest must be someone who can prove some power and knowledge, perhaps Ishar with an honorblade or one of the others? really just pure speculation but that is what I thought about when I heard it...

Wild Idea on the Fourth BioChromatic Entity
signspace13 replied to MistLord's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I have always felt that Nightblood is more than we see him to be in Warbreaker, something that Brandon hints too in the annotations. His mind is fixed somewhat to the point in time that he was created, that is forged into him, he can't at any point consider any of the 5 scholars as dead, because they were alive when he was made. So saying this I believe that Nightblood currently doesn't know what evil is, because he has never experienced true evil, doing terrible things thinking they are right, forcing others to do things against their will. Nightblood never learned what evil was from Vasher Because Vasher wasn't evil. Szeth will likely do some rather Evil things with Nightblood, this may teach Nightblood (and possibly Szeth) what evil is. I feel like it will be said night blood would kill someone evil if they picked him up, yes he possibly would, but the way that works is completely separate from his mind, the way he does this is he quickly judges what the person will do with him, if that thing contradicts "destroy evil" at all, he kills them, this could lead to good poeple falling to Nightblood's test. I do not think you can create an Awakened weapon that is initially broken, But if you have someone weilding said sword that could somehow teach the sword the true meaning of it's command, then yes you could have an awakened weapon that is actually a good person, not a puppy(doing what it's told no thought just action).- 13 replies

What the Ghostblood Symbol Might Look Like
signspace13 replied to skaa's topic in Stormlight Archive
I REALLY like this it really looks like the sought of symbol you would see on signet ring form a secret society, I like the double diamond more and really like the reasoning behind, soul+blood= Ghostblood. That also Implies that the suspected worldhoppers started on Roshar, or that this is the Rosharian unit of a larger organisation, going by a unit name and symbol. But nice find my upvote is yous! -
I am a tad squeemish that scene actually made me feel sick, like I almost lost my lunch, so yeh, I don't see the Mistborn series as particularly YA but I guess it isn't that bad, compared to some Video games these days, and most of those are marketed towards young adults.

What is the best name for an alliance?

The steel Inquisitors sounded imposing waaay before you actually get one described to you, then they are terrifying. so yeh have to go with them. -
What determines access to magic systems
signspace13 replied to shawnhargreaves's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Seems ppausible, even likely, I mean what would you think if some random guy with metal eyes walked up to you stabbed you in the chest (or leg or arm or shoulder or even face) then just walked off, sounds pretty traumatic to me. I say someone with metal eyes as I think the only poeple that really know the bind points would be inquisitors. -
Yeh I think he mentioned a leatherbound elantris/emporers soul copy so that is my guess, as much as I would like it to be a suprise early release of something, I seriously doubt it (and $45 seems a bit pricey for that).

I guess we could just store it away for later and tap it another time.

Sell, I think she will actually play a part in the series and i don't see any mains being World hoppers (except Wit of Course). Edit: Zahel will not be much of a player and is really just an easter egg for later

Perhaps some sought Diehard group that Kaladin joined after Tien died, maybe whatever he did there is what made him a squadleader.

The quality of the puns in this thread are d-windle-ing

I absolutely agree that Kaladin's Shash brand isn't going anywhere even if the slave brands go he will always be Dangerous it is a label that suits him well so no it isn't going anywhere.

I am personally liking the theory that shallan does not see herself as a knight Radiant yet, this means that her eyes have yet to change, it seems a lot of things in the cosmere are based on one's perception (or the perception of others) so why not this. Kaladin still see's himself as a slave (or at least as branded) so he still has his slave brands, I personally think that Shash will always scar his forehead because he will ALWAYS view himself as dangerous. Shallan does not yet see herself as important or as a Knight Radiant so she in affect does not have a Radiant's eyes yet. What is the Gem for the eslecallers? does Jasnah's eye colour match?

buy I can see stormlight being a very valuable resource in the future. We will see Kal shout down Roshone in Stones unhallowed.
