  1. Something I feel everyone is missing is that it doesn't seem to be just brokenness that makes you a Radiant but showing an outstanding virtue through that brokenness like Honesty, Honor, Leadership, and Bravery and loyalty. and so far I think that everyone who is a radiant deserves it, Renarin for his loyalty, Shallan for her Honesty (or her ability to make others honest), Kaladin through his Honor, and Dalinar for his Leadership. Shallan has shown that she can bring out the best in people by telling them how she sees them or how they could be seen, perhaps this has always been a quality of Shallan, as it has been said that shallan had a shardblade and a spren even before she lost her mother. Something that was said that i can't quite recall where was that even with Radiant's spren, you have to show their virtue to attract them, just like any other spren. so maybe instead of finding all of the broken Characters in the books and pointing "Radiant!", and then discussing how broken they are, we should consider what we know of their character to judge it's possibility not exactly how broken we think they are.
  2. I don't find it entirely unlikely that he has knowledge of other worlds, but i think most of his knowledge is based around Roshar, But with a master like Hoid, I really wonder how he learnt anything at all.
  3. I feel like the term spren is applicable as is sliver and cognitive shadow. i say this because i feel like sliver is not being used to say, sliver in the case of part of a shard, but instead as to say, part of Tanavast himself, this would make him both a sliver and a cognitive Shadow, and would adhere to our knowledge that Brandon knows what a capital 'Sliver' means, and that is exactly why he didn't use it, because he didn't want us to think the Stormfather was a part of honor, but that he was apart of Tanavast, that has been seriously affected by the opinions and thoughts of humans just like can happen to anything in the cognitive realm.
  4. When did this become a Shiping thread?
  5. and this suggests that maybe another effect of holding stormlight is regeneration, as is shown also in our "not quite radiant" squires. so maybe things like perfect pitch and colour recognition could also be considered as side affect of holding breath and not actually the abilities of an awakener I think I should say that I believe that if Kal or Shallan got a bunch of breath, I don't think the could awaken with it, I say this as I think this ability is likely an attribute of the sDNA of the people of Malthis.
  6. I voted Vasher but i think Szeth is going to be interesting, I think Szeth will initially not see the evil in what the sword asks him to do. Which will likely lead to Night blood himself gaining are stronger concept of evil and then stop telling sezth what to do, sadly this may lead to the end of our puppy like sociopath but would lead to some seriously interesting dialogue between him and Szeth, and even more so when he reunites with Vazher.
  7. What about Shallan's squires? I definitely agree that I would love to see good'ol Gaz get his eye back, but what is the likeliness of the the lightweavers getting squires. I mean if we look at the skill set of the lightweavers what do we think that the most likely outcome of there role as radiants would be? Assassins, or spys. Assassins is debatable but I think it is likely, now if people that were close to said Radiant even undercover started glowing then I think the cat would be out of the bag and they would have to get away. so I find the chances of squires for Shallan low. But if we were to put a simple condition on the squiredom like, Shallan has to trust them, and they have to know she is a radiant before they can achieve squiredom. But then we have to ask ourselves what help would a glowy hanger on be to a lightweaver, perhaps if they get into a fight they might help, but I think a good lightweaver could probably talk themselves out of an execution if given the chance so I find that benefit unlikely. so the new questions from that are: -Why would Shallan need squires? -What would it take to become one?
  8. I find that unlikely if you can remember the scene where Shallan snap's at Adolin for saying he wants to protect her. This seems the greatest barrier to the Shalladin ship at the moment, if Shallan won't let Kal protect her then they are going to have a hard time seeing eye to eye.
  9. my answer to this question is that storm light and breath are similar but different, i think that breath could be used to fuel surge binding, but it would have different effects, and i think holding any breath for any reason would effect colours around you, awakener or not. my guess is if you used breath to surgebind, say soulcast, you would probably end up bleaching something as well. but I read a theory elsewhere that someone thought if you were to awaken with stormlight it would probably slowly leak out of the object. I agree and think that if you use stormlight to awaken you wouldn't be making any lifeless any time soon, and the stormlight would be irretrievable as "your breath to mine" isn't really applicable. but i think it would act differently. holding stormlight doesn't seem to make hoid glow either, so there is still stuff we don't know. This post is entirrely speculation but hey that's my two cents.
  10. HI , I'm new. I think it is worth mentioning that during their ride in the modified slave wagon with Tvklav Pattern told Shallan that he was the only cryptic aloud to form the nahel bond, purely as a scholarly experiment, as the cryptics see no use in forming these bonds because they will only die because of them.
