    That is a theory that floats around quite a bit, but the honest answer- I think- is that we don't know enough to say what really happened. There might be a wob that says something different, but the ones I remember are painfully ambiguous.

    Well I do have to say that I loved how The Wheel of Time did it with humans. There was plenty of prejudice, but it was more in-line with what that world would be expected to feel, not taking earth's prejudices and then pasting them into the books. In other books, I think that it really depends on the world that the book is in. If it's a forgotten realms book, than there's reasons behind a lot of the stereotyping. Although, in Salvatore's books, that's one of the main issues so it can get very interesting because you have Drizzt the good drow. Way later in the series isn't there supposed to be a nation of at least semi-civilized orcs? Generally speaking, I think that the races are could be a lot different if the individuals were raised differently. Let's take LotR elves for example. If you'd taken an elf babe and swapped it with a human one, I think that the elf would grow up to act more human than elfish. Because of immortality and stuff he would definitely still be elfish, maybe kind of like Aragorn? I don't know, I'm starting to ramble really badly, hope some of that made sense.

    The freed Scholar had been greatly disturbed by many of the events that had been taking place throughout the 17th realm. The number of new guilds had steadily risen, the old nations had been stagnent for weeks, and rumours of a rising empire in a land called RP that was larger and more reputable than the rest of the nations put together had reached the Scholar's ears. The old skeleton who claimed to be Chaos incarnate had dissapeared from the land, as had the Princess Delightful. Things were definitely looking to be on the decline. Why, even the Knave hadn't been causing much trouble. LeftVash returned to the Raven Throne to see if he could broker an alliance with its ruler. And while he was here he may as well speak with the other nation's nobles.

    Hrrmmph. Dark alleys are so blazen and in your face. Now Spice, that is subtler. I distrust the events that are coming to pass here, Madam Contrare, would you consider an alliance with me to keep an eye on these hidden ruffians, so that if they do start using their puny spikes we may crush them and enslave a cult with a higher mixture of control?

    Frank Herbert- The Way of Kings would be have even more religion and politics and ecology. However the rest of the series will probably go down hill pretty steadily, until MeatLoaf Sanderson picks up the back half and makes them half decent. J.K. Rowling- The characters of all the books would be so real that you expect to meet them on the street, but there's tons of inconsistencies in the magic and world building. And Odium will manage to sneak his investure into nightblood letting him survive even after being killed.
